‘How?’

Jason fell into a daze as he saw the mirror image of Hanna staring at them.

He didn’t know how someone like Hanna could activate the mirror stone.

‘Unless….’

He looked at the unconscious girl with widened eyes. The only possibility was that Hanna had a massive amount of power hidden in her body that she had no control over.

‘Gulp!’

The mirror image was fixing its eyes on Hanna.

“How… How is she?”

Jason stood between Amelia and Hanna as he faced the illusion. He fell into a dilemma as if he should attack this fake Hanna. The problem was that this mirror image was similar to a physical body with all of Hanna’s strengths and weaknesses.

He did not know what kind of power Hanna held, but he didn’t want to attack her even if he knew the answer.

“She is just unconscious because that thing drained her power. She will be okay after some rest.”

Amelia stared at Jason’s back as her chest heaved. She almost failed to catch Hanna before she was harmed.

“Where did you find that?”

“I guess it is fine.”It was already the next day, and he didn’t leave The Endless until he confirmed Hanna was fine. She looked lethargic when she woke up in the morning, and she had no memory of anything after touching the mirror stone. However, she regained her energy after a while, and in the afternoon she insisted Jason take her to the stream as he promised. ‘Everything will be fine since Amelia is here, right?’Jason wanted to ask Amelia about Hanna’s origin, but he always felt danger when he met her eyes today. He had no choice but to avoid asking any sensitive questions from her.…“Look… Look… I am floating.”Hanna looked full of energy as she played in the stream.“You are doing great.”Jason smiled as he held her against the current.“Mommy… Look.”“You are doing great, Hanna.”Amelia sat by the shore, watching Jason and Hanna play in the stream. She hated the too many eyes that followed them whenever they came out of the house.“Hehehe….”Hanna loved their compliments, a

"Good evening everyone. I am Chris Hale and welcome to another one of our special shows related to E-Sports. Tonight we are looking at The Endless, as we promised."Chris started with a smile. There was a live audience present at the studio for tonight's show. Unlike many other programs, this audience was mostly the younger generation."Without wasting more time, let’s look at our guests tonight. We have a familiar face, professor Sasha Alfson…."He introduced Sasha Alfson, who came to the USA specifically to meet Jason. His boss's son, Bruce Taylor. Luminous, who actually followed them voluntarily.'I don't know what his deal is.'They just reminded Luminous of this show out of courtesy, and no one expected him to actually take part. They had no one from the World Builders available tonight, but they already got permission. Yesterday he had a chat with an especially happy John Mayer who gave him some valuable information."Then… tonight's star, a name that resounded with The Endless.

‘Huh? Domain?’Jason looked at Bruce.‘Not now….’Bruce slightly shook his head, signalling Jason not to answer the question. “I heard there are two Grandmasters and a powerful wizard in Light Shone. Are you saying it is your domain, Jason?”“Jason!”Sasha interrupted them before Jason could answer. She liked the attitude of Jason compared to this young man, who called himself Luminous.“My student Sam is ready. Chris, can we arrange the duel right now?”“Of course, we can arrange the duel right now. We can continue this topic after the duel, Luminous.”Chris looked relieved at Sasha’s intervention. He didn’t know what was happening in the game, but he didn’t want Jason to get cornered. After all, Jason was their celebrity. “Everyone, let’s get back to this discussion after we finish the live battle with Jason. Before that, let’s go for a quick commercial break.”…“You… You all are supporting him….”Luminous stuttered, pointing his finger at Jason. He didn’t even get to finish his

“Are you saying you will teach for free, but not at our university?”Sasha looked a bit disappointed. “Not really, Professor. Why don’t we let Bruce talk about this? Chris, can we switch to that?”‘He is a nice guy.’Chris felt happy when Jason still gave him priority as the host. Honestly, at the moment, the program was entirely centred around Jason. The people would do anything to see Jason, and objecting to his words would be terrible for Sky News.He enjoyed working with people like Jason. Capable, but not arrogant. “Of course. Let’s switch to the main topic of tonight.”Chris looked at Bruce. Sky News had a lot to gain through this program. They would earn a huge profit tonight, and he was sure these videos would be in high demand. Plus, they were the official media partner with this new website, and they had an exclusive contract with Jason.“Alright! Can we get some visuals, Chris?”Bruce felt his heart thumping with excitement. Jason’s sword dance was more than enough popul

"No, I’m saying they’re going overboard.""Isn’t that what they always do? This isn’t the first time The Crystal Pulse has attacked players unprovoked.""We have to do something about it—fast."The discussion had devolved into an argument the moment it started. Some of the most famous gamers across the country had gathered in one place, a rare occurrence in itself. The Endless had grown too big to ignore, and even gamers who had avoided it initially had now established themselves in the challenging yet captivating world of the game.Ironically, most of them seemed to have forgotten that The Crystal Pulse was the primary reason players had been able to thrive in The Endless in the first place. It was The Crystal Pulse’s infrastructure and guidance that allowed players to survive in this mercilessly realistic game. Their success had been the beacon that drew many to the VR game considered the hardest ever created. Yet here they were, plotting ways to overthrow the very organization that

The message was clear: time to prepare.Gillian gritted her teeth as she tightened the strap around the wound on her arm, the healing paste already numbing the pain. She had a few healing potions tucked away in her pack, but she knew she couldn’t waste them. Supplies were limited, and every soldier had been issued a fixed amount by Crystal Pulse. While the organization would do whatever it took to keep them alive, this was part of their training—learning to manage resources in the heat of battle.'I heard they’re watching us anyway,' Gillian thought, her mind drifting. Since leaving Light Shone, several Grandmasters had vanished from the village, and she suspected they were nearby, keeping a close eye on the mission. The first and most important rule for Crystal Pulse players was not to die, even if respawning in eighteen hours was an option.'Logan is confident en

  • 297 - Cosmic Horror

'His mutation is changing. Or... should I say improving?' Amelia observed Jason closely as the changes in his body unfolded with each passing second. The starry night-like texture on his left side began to expand subtly toward the right, slowly overtaking the black, armour-like skin. However, the transformation seemed restrained, as though the artefact lacked the power to fully support Jason's demand. The process lasted nearly an hour before the dagger, once brimming with ominous energy, dulled completely, its power entirely drained.Jason’s body underwent slight changes—a small part of his pitch-black armour faded, replaced by the cosmic texture of the starry night. Finally, he opened his eyes, feeling a rare sense of relief. The artifact's mutation had been neutralised; it would no longer corrupt anyone or anything. For the first time in a long while, he felt as though a small part of his burden had been lifted.“Well... you can’t go out like that!” Amelia’s voice pulled him from his

Jason’s gaze returned to the towering demon before him, but he didn’t feel it was worth his attention. His glowing eyes simply stared at the massive figure for a brief moment before he swung his right arm through the air with effortless precision. It was as if he was clawing at the distant figure. A second later, several glowing white lines expanded across the space, moving faster than the eye could track. They reached the demon in an instant, cutting through its form. Behind it, the underground mountain erupted into a cloud of dust, disintegrating as though it had been struck by an invisible force. For a heartbeat, the Greater Demon stood there, frozen in place as if nothing had happened. Then, with a sickening sound, its colossal body crumbled to the ground in pieces, diced cleanly by Jason’s strike.“Screech!” A high-pitched wail echoed across the cavern as panicked creatures scattered, their movements erratic and mindless in the wake of their apex predator’s death. Even the remai

  • 295 - Daddy is So Strong

"Shit," Amelia cursed under her breath as she deflected blow after blow, desperately trying to protect Jason from the relentless attacks. It wasn’t just her previous enemies; there was another massive threat looming on the horizon. She could feel the presence of a greater demon, its oppressive aura emanating from afar, finally ready to make its move.'I can't take on this thing,' she thought, parrying another strike aimed at her.She didn't have the luxury of time to grab Jason and flee. Besides, with the monstrous force approaching, running seemed pointless. This new threat was undoubtedly stronger than her.'If only he can fight,' she lamented, her grip tightening around her sword. She couldn't even afford a glance at Jason to check if he was still holding on. All she could hear were his painful grunts, each one a stab to her focus.…"Daddy, Daddy, no, I have to go!" Hanna cried out, trying to rush toward the mine entrance. Before she could take another step, Nocturne leapt from her

  • 294 - Daddy is Hurt

'This is not going to end well.'Jason barely caught his breath as he hid behind a stone column, narrowly evading the swing of a giant demon's sword. He felt a growing sense of helplessness as his spells failed to inflict any significant damage on these monstrous enemies. Surprisingly, his Arcane Spawns managed to restrain one of the demons temporarily. However, the limitation was clear—he could only summon three Arcane Spawns at a time, and that number was far from enough to take down even a single demon.'I don't think Amelia can hold on much longer.'While Jason was barely managing against a single demon, Amelia was handling all five of the remaining demons on her own. She moved with incredible agility, skillfully evading the swords and other weapons targeting her, striking back whenever she saw an opening. Her blade flashed, leaving shallow cuts on the demons’ thick skin, but it was clear that even with her skill, she was being overwhelmed. Five demons were far more than she cou

  • 293 - What Are We Going To Do About Them?

"Hanna, you have to be good and stay here, alright?""Alright, Daddy," Hanna responded, her voice tinged with sadness, but she kept her composure.'Hanna is a big girl. I can't cry. Mommy and Daddy promised to come back,' she reminded herself, trying to act brave.Floating behind her, Nocturne extended its tentacles, imitating the action of wiping away tears as if to comfort Hanna in its own eerie way."No, Hanna is not crying, Little Cuttlefish," Hanna tried to argue with Nocturne, waving her tiny fist cutely at the eldritch horror."Make sure everything is okay." Jason gave Hanna a quick peck on the forehead before turning to Samson and Butch."We will handle things while you are gone, Sir Jason," Butch assured him. Despite not being from Earth, he had learned to mimic Samson when addressing Jason. Many of the bodyguards, even those from Yuriel, had learned to act properly under Samson's guidance.Jason's gaze shifted to Dane, who was responsible for maintaining the outer perimete

“Eh….”Hanna turned her head around as she felt a familiar ominous feeling. “What is it, Hanna?”“Little Cuttlefish is here, Mommy.”She didn’t know where it was, but she felt its presence. A moment later, a ripple appeared near them and a small slit expanded in midair. An eerie dark feeling seeped out of it as several small tentacles slipped into their world. “Whee!”Nocturne floated toward Hanna making a cheerful noise. “Hiss.”Ancient Wraith hissed at the foreign creature. “Grr….”Nyx growled at the creature in anger, but it didn’t try to attack it. First, Nocturne was Jason’s pet. Second, her little master had no anger toward this thing. However, Nyx knew that the horrible disease had the same scent as this creature. It was a dangerous and foreign feeling that made them uncomfortable. “Gu! Gu!”Nocturne immediately released a defensive sound and hid behind Amelia, trying to protect itself. “Don’t harm Little Cuttlefish. It is not his fault.”Hanna gently patted Nyx’s head

“No! I will not let you go in.”Brood’s voice was sharp and loud, and Jason felt the surrounding air vibrate with her voice. “It is already spreading. Send out one of your Drones and check the caves to the north. There is a crack.”Jason didn’t care about Brood’s rant at the moment. He was much stronger than before. Even if he failed to defeat Brood, he was confident enough to survive against her and escape. Besides, Amelia should be already on her way here. “But… But… This is the only place I am supposed to protect. I… I didn’t let anything escape.”Brood’s voice broke a little as she tried to suppress the agitation. “Check it out. I can feel the monsters roaming beneath those cracks, and it won’t be long before they escape.”“But….”“There is no time. She is coming, and she is angry. So check it out.
