“How is he?”

Xanders tossed the question to the side without taking his eyes off the temporarily built stage. He felt Samson coming closer to the group, and it was a sign that Jason was about to arrive.

‘How exaggerating….’

He wondered how many nobles in Alexandria would have guards arriving in advance before their arrival.

However, Xanders admitted these alien humans had better strategies to attract people. They gathered almost all the aliens to see the things happening on the stage. They demonstrated the effects of the basic scrolls made by Jason, and results looked pretty promising.

Already there were many who wanted to exchange their points for Arcane Shield and Illuminate spells, but many people didn’t like the Enchanted Armour, Basic Dispel, and Concealment.

Of course, the non-reinforced version of Concealment and Enchanted Armour didn’t look very useful compared to the flashy shield of Arcane Shield or the light orbs from Illuminate. The Enchanted Armour only increased the pr

“What? Why are you even living here? Didn’t Sky News pay you anything?”Ashley looked at Jason as if she was looking at an idiot. On the surface, Crystal Pulse was a nonprofit organisation. However, even with the recent collapse because of its poor reputation, the Crystal Pulse still had thousands of players. There were still people who joined it every day. Even if the organisation was nonprofit, it was a massive organisation with unlimited potential.“I didn’t know I have shares.”Jason raised his hands in an earnest gesture.“And… What does it have to do with where I live? I think this place is pretty good.”He didn’t want to say that he was much more eager to spend that money on gaining something for his future on Yuriel.‘Can I buy something for Hanna? ‘Is this… Light Shone?’Coal failed to understand the reason for the sudden change this small village had experienced within two short months. However, today he came to the front of the small village to see an entirely different scene.Of course, everything was different since the moment he stepped into Forestedge. That place was swarming with alien humans, but that was the case for all the remote towns, and he heard it was the same with many other countries.Still, things changed much more when he came toward Light Shone from Forestedge. This was a road that anyone rarely travelled, and there were many signs of animals occupying it at night. However, today he met travellers along the way. In fact, he left Forestedge with a group of twenty people. All of them were aliens travelling to Light Shone, and he met some of them travelling back fr

“Does this fit your requirements, Mr Coal?”Amanda wrote the last details of the contract by herself. The lack of personnel was a significant burden to them, but they had no choice. Every one of them stayed after dark to practise Mana Breathing and took turns practising during the day. ‘I only opened two magic nodes until now, and I am worried.’All of them had to work since three distinct organisations joined around Jason, and this young man wasn’t interested in assigning or managing their duties. All of them had to work together since none of them could cause trouble with Jason around. Amanda eventually found it relatively easy to work with the US government and Aegis while Jason was the leader. They all had a common goal, and no one wanted to expose too many details or cause a scene. ‘Why am I even complaining here? Is it because I am afraid of the future?’She knew she couldn’t say a word to Jason.A young man who barely stepped into society, who just wanted to play a game. Stil

“Here!”“Ah! Thanks!”Jason thought little when he didn’t hear Amelia approaching him, but it surprised him a bit when he saw the steaming mug in her hand. He silently watched her taking a seat far from him on the pavement; just as he did.He wasn’t good enough to hear her movements at all. He tried to track her movements from time to time during the last week, but it didn’t work at all.‘But I can detect Xanders sometimes. How strong are you actually?’Jason had a feeling that Amelia might have reached a stage that clearly surpassed the limitations of the Grandmasters. ‘Well… Everyone has secrets. I hope she won’t be too angry when I ask some of them….’He sipped a mouth full of warm water from the mug Amelia brought. It was a chilly night, but his stats were too high for him to feel it much. He just appreciated the feeling and the memories of having something warm during a cold night, and he knew Amelia was doing the same. “Is she asleep?”“Yeah. I covered her up enough so she wo

“Omg! It is Jason. Can you see it? And there is Grandmaster Xanders. Will we see a showdown like that time?”“I can….”Jason wore common black pants and a grey shirt, and he had two swords with him; one on his back and the other on his waist. His hair seemed to be longer than what she saw the first day, and his eyes scanned through the crowd in a calm phase. Gillian didn’t feel too excited about Jason’s appearance. Of course, Jason was the uncontested leader of the Crystal Pulse, and many new exclusive members of the Crystal Pulse idolised him. ‘Did I make the right choice?’The doubt she had in her heart was the reason for Gillian’s lack of excitement. She was among the first few people selected as the core members of the Crystal Pulse. In fact, she didn’t have to apply for the exclusive membership, and she got an invitation from the Saintess Guild. Gillan knew this was because of the conversation she had with Amanda a couple of days ago. However, what made her feel nervous was t

“Everyone back on the line! We are done mapping here, and we are moving to the next mine.” Samson tried his best to look confident, but the sudden attack that happened to the group had shaken him to the core. He felt like he was back on the battlefield, and if not for all the therapy he had, he would have run back to Light Shone. Even Butch, the third strongest, looked scared and vigilant, and the players in the logistic group looked terrified. Luckily, nothing else happened for the last few hours. ‘They are so calm.’ He saw Jason looking at everything with an indifferent eye, and he seemed to be more interested in finding fruits for Hanna. Samson saw Jason putting everything into the pouch on his waist that looked like a normal purse, but it seemed to have no bottom. He heard this was something Jason created, and it had a space-time rune embedded in it. One needed Mana to use such an item, and it was basically a magical inventory from those fantasy stories. ‘I guess… It is okay to be scared….’Xanders felt several people he restrained with aura falling unconscious, but he didn’t know if it was due to fear or disgust. Either way, he didn’t care about them as long as they were alive. ‘This thing can’t be weak! Jason is taking it seriously. And it can speak very well… How the hell such a thing exists?’The spider-like creature was at least six metres tall and had sixteen eyes that rotated without stopping. He noticed a unique purplish glow in those eyes from time to time, and he wondered if it was an illusion. The more he looked at the creature, the more Xanders felt worried. ‘Shit!’He cursed when he felt more spiders appearing among the trees and from the old mines, these were the size of the first ones they saw and weren’t strong, yet there were many.“Jason! I will attack it!”He whispered from the side, waiting for an opening.“She can hear us, Mr Xanders. And she will kill you even before you scratch her, right, Brood?”…“You know

The envoy stammered, his body trembling as he hastily retreated to the far corner of the carriage.‘Sigh… How useless.’The hooded man barely spared him another glance. The Brodice Kingdom had neither the power nor the will to resist the Grand Order that had been issued. It had been nearly a decade since the last decree from the Grand Wizards, and that one had shaken the world, announcing the arrival of an immortal alien.‘But this might be the first time in centuries that they had to step in to stop a minor war.’He turned his gaze to the passing scenery outside the carriage window, watching in silence. No one, aside from the envoy and a handful of high-r

It was still under Amelia’s care. The village’s housing structure remained untouched as new construction projects focused on essential production facilities and accommodations for the new settlers arriving through the ongoing clearing operations. Infrastructure plans were in place, but progress was slow due to the sheer number of projects they were juggling. If Jason or Amelia had wanted, they could have easily upgraded their home—no one would have objected. After all, this small house was the heart of the Crystal Pulse, the centre of absolute power within the faction. Yet, despite its democratic structure, the organization operated with near-perfect coordination. The faction under Magnus from the Secret Service, the Saintess Guild, the

"What a small place," the hooded figure muttered as he entered the heart of the Brodice Kingdom’s capital. His voice, a slightly older male tone, carried a mix of amusement and disappointment. "And why is their security so bad?" he added, his sharp eyes scanning the bustling streets.Soldiers packed every corner and alley, their inspections meticulous. Even the citizens were forced to pass through layers upon layers of security just to move about. Yet, despite the apparent vigilance, no one noticed him. Draped in a black cloak, the figure walked openly down the middle of the road, his presence going entirely undetected."Well... they have to be careful. That bounty is indeed tempting," he muttered to himself, a sly grin creeping across his hidden face. "Ah, I wish I were as young as I was back then. Maybe I could’ve finished off these weaklings myself for that reward." His voice carried a mocking tone. "The Crystal Pulse? What a bland name for such a daring organisation."He chuckled

"No, I’m saying they’re going overboard.""Isn’t that what they always do? This isn’t the first time The Crystal Pulse has attacked players unprovoked.""We have to do something about it—fast."The discussion had devolved into an argument the moment it started. Some of the most famous gamers across the country had gathered in one place, a rare occurrence in itself. The Endless had grown too big to ignore, and even gamers who had avoided it initially had now established themselves in the challenging yet captivating world of the game.Ironically, most of them seemed to have forgotten that The Crystal Pulse was the primary reason players had been able to thrive in The Endless in the first place. It was The Crystal Pulse’s infrastructure and guidance that allowed players to survive in this mercilessly realistic game. Their success had been the beacon that drew many to the VR game considered the hardest ever created. Yet here they were, plotting ways to overthrow the very organization that

The message was clear: time to prepare.Gillian gritted her teeth as she tightened the strap around the wound on her arm, the healing paste already numbing the pain. She had a few healing potions tucked away in her pack, but she knew she couldn’t waste them. Supplies were limited, and every soldier had been issued a fixed amount by Crystal Pulse. While the organization would do whatever it took to keep them alive, this was part of their training—learning to manage resources in the heat of battle.'I heard they’re watching us anyway,' Gillian thought, her mind drifting. Since leaving Light Shone, several Grandmasters had vanished from the village, and she suspected they were nearby, keeping a close eye on the mission. The first and most important rule for Crystal Pulse players was not to die, even if respawning in eighteen hours was an option.'Logan is confident en

  • 297 - Cosmic Horror

'His mutation is changing. Or... should I say improving?' Amelia observed Jason closely as the changes in his body unfolded with each passing second. The starry night-like texture on his left side began to expand subtly toward the right, slowly overtaking the black, armour-like skin. However, the transformation seemed restrained, as though the artefact lacked the power to fully support Jason's demand. The process lasted nearly an hour before the dagger, once brimming with ominous energy, dulled completely, its power entirely drained.Jason’s body underwent slight changes—a small part of his pitch-black armour faded, replaced by the cosmic texture of the starry night. Finally, he opened his eyes, feeling a rare sense of relief. The artifact's mutation had been neutralised; it would no longer corrupt anyone or anything. For the first time in a long while, he felt as though a small part of his burden had been lifted.“Well... you can’t go out like that!” Amelia’s voice pulled him from his

Jason’s gaze returned to the towering demon before him, but he didn’t feel it was worth his attention. His glowing eyes simply stared at the massive figure for a brief moment before he swung his right arm through the air with effortless precision. It was as if he was clawing at the distant figure. A second later, several glowing white lines expanded across the space, moving faster than the eye could track. They reached the demon in an instant, cutting through its form. Behind it, the underground mountain erupted into a cloud of dust, disintegrating as though it had been struck by an invisible force. For a heartbeat, the Greater Demon stood there, frozen in place as if nothing had happened. Then, with a sickening sound, its colossal body crumbled to the ground in pieces, diced cleanly by Jason’s strike.“Screech!” A high-pitched wail echoed across the cavern as panicked creatures scattered, their movements erratic and mindless in the wake of their apex predator’s death.
