Chapter 6: The Connections

Fifteen minutes to his ride, the sky had already darkened.

"Mister." Shi Yan called.

"Call me Jackal, Young Master Shi Yan, I'm but a small person within the organization," Jackal replied.

"T-then, Jackal, do you know anything about my current circumstances?" Shi Yan asked, he paused for a bit before adding: "Truthfully, I'm still quite confused why you guys are sure that it's me and not just a person with the same name, I'm also an orphan without any history."

Jackal smiled: "Young master, I can't tell you much not because I don't want to, but like I said, I'm a nobody."

"Still, we only know that we need to protect you even at the cost of our life."

"Umn, about your current circumstances, there are a few people from the higher place that had watched over you."

"And, I think they have absolute confidence in your identity, as for anything else, we don't know much."

"That... thanks." Shi Yan replied.

Jackal nodded his head and didn't say anything more.

Soon, they arrived.

The people got out of the car and formed a line immediately.

One of the men opened the door to where Shi Yan was sitting and bowed respectfully.

Shi Yan with this new form of greetings couldn't help but feel respected.

He nodded his head and looked at the mountain in front of him, there was a mansion built around it, it looked just like a small city of its own.

"Then?" Shi Yan looked at them: "Aren't you guys going with me?"

Jackal smiled: "We're only allowed up to this point, only Young Master Shi Yan and those he allowed can enter. Even if we're friends, we're not allowed as we're employed."

"This rule can't be broken until you own 100% of the assets."

Shi Yan nodded his head.

Since he can't do anything, he decided to just go in.

The mansion was close, or so he thought.

It was just big! He had walked for 15 minutes before arriving near it.

It took another ten minutes just to arrive in front of the mansion.

He had to walk past many houses and facilities, yet, no one seemed to be present in this massive small city mansion.

He opened the mansion's massive door and what awaited him are two people.

"Young Master, welcome, I am Turan, I will be serving as your right-hand man, and I will be responsible for doing all of your 'labor' type works." A strong-looking 40-year-old man greeted.

His movements are quite elegant and firm.

"Young Master Shi Yan, I am Nara, I'll be serving as your left hand, I will be responsible for any type of meticulous planning and other information you need to be done." A beautiful 34-year-old woman uttered.

She's graceful, cold, and looked professional.

"You two... are going to work under me?" Shi Yan was stunned, people will work under him? "Wait, I don't think I have money to hire you two even for a month!"

Nara smiled charmingly as she started walking with grace to him: "Young Master, did you know, in the future, you will have the capability to hire every people and animal in the world for 50 cronz per day and will be able to keep it up for 100 years without growing broke?"

"Well, if that is part of your plan, sorry but you can't be doing that as well. The money you will possess later on is for your own self after all."

"Any money you wish to help others with needs equal exchange."

"What do you mean?" Shi Yan asked.

Nara replied: "A good example is, if you wish to help people around the world, you could create jobs, companies, and other such things to employ them, by giving them work, you can help them."

Shi Yan nodded his head: "So... I'm rich?"

Nara nodded his head: "Yes, but currently, you're still poor."

Shi Yan smiled, he knew it, it wouldn't be easy to be rich.

Nara then continued: "Currently, you will only be receiving 10,000,000 cronz per month for three years top."

"This allowance will stop if you don't do anything significant, you can also use it to buy goods and things as such to accomplish your goals."

"What are my goals exactly?" Shi Yan asked.

Nara then flipped her notes professionally while fixing her glass: "Currently, based on our recently received reports, there is an abundance of resources that's remained untouched for 100 years, hence, it'll be quite a harvest for our part if we could collect them all."

"Truthfully, this mission should be up to your alley based on our research of your personality."

"What do you mean?" Shi Yan asked in complete confusion.

Nara then explained further: "Currently, there's a drought in that place, so the place is quite in desperation, even the hegemony couldn't do things and just could keep to themselves."

"You can use resources here to be used as a way to ask for labor, we could ask them to mine for a really long time in exchange for favors."

"Then..."

Nara kept talking, meanwhile, Shi Yan is looking at her weirdly: "I can't understand anything... Do you mean to tell me to go to another country and exploit workers? Pay them with food in exchange for them to mine?"

Nara then fixed her glass: "Tell me, Young Master."

"Which is more important? Lives or working?"

Shi Yan immediately responded: "Of course it's lives!"

Nara nodded her head: "As a matter of fact, yes. So why do you call it exploitation?"

"You mean to tell me, in exchange for their work, they have the chance to live, to feed their family, to become healthier, is called exploitation?"

She then fixed her glasses and added: "Truthfully, throughout the course of the year, there are already around 4,000 death due to hunger."

"The population is around 150,000, the numbers will only increase until all of them are dead, only the hegemony will survive, yet, even then, that nation will probably weaken to the point of no return for the next 100 years."

"So tell me once more young master, is it exploitation or is it an exchange? We're giving them the chance to live in exchange for the ores, and other materials they can gather."

"You mean to tell me, that food to live is not as important as the mines?"

Nara kept assaulting him with questions causing Shi Yan to be speechless.

Turan sighed, he grabbed Nara's collar and lifted her up like a child, yet, Nara still kept talking continuously.

Turan then spoke: "Nara, the young master doesn't know 'it' yet, so he couldn't understand much from what you've been talking."

Nara was continuously talking when she suddenly stopped, it's like a light bulb had appeared above her head.

"Right, I forgot about it when I was too excited for my first assisting mission."

"What are you guys talking about?" Shi Yan asked.

Turan smiled: "Young Master Shi Yan, it's that... we're not talking about this world, we're talking another world."

"A-another world?!" Shi Yan couldn't help but exclaim in shock.

"Yes, it's another world, it's also the reason why your ancestors managed to become really wealthy." Turan smiled as he explained further: "It's a special door that only your bloodline could access to go through a different world."

Shi Yan looked at them and couldn't really digest it completely.
