4. He got a diamond card?

He strolled to the receptionist as he stood on the line, then he shot his gaze outside.

Still outside, David furiously asked, "so, you can bow for the less privileged, but can't do the same for me?? The level of disrespect in this hotel! And what was that call?!"

The guard felt like spanking David on his ass as he spouted trash.

His face was red when he turned to him, "Look, mister, if you don't keep shut now, you will see the other side of me! You're asking what the call was about? I'd rather tell it to a rat than to an ill-bred like you!"

David turned from pale to paler and then to the colour of ash as the insults kept coming. He was being compared to a rat?! "How dare you...?"

"Shut it and move in now!" The other guard retorted sharply.

In his whole life, he had never felt this embarrassed. And why? Because of a riffraff called Henry? Sikes, he was going to frustrate him inside!

Even Pink didn't miss out on the awkwardness as her face turned red like an apple. "Whatever! Babe, let's go!" She grabbed his hands as they went inside together.

David clenched his fists tightly as they walked inside. The worst part was how the guard acted like Henry was superior.

Like how can his ex-houseboy be treated better than him?

What sort of irony was that?

Had the world suddenly switched sides and irony became the order of the day?

As his mind searched for answers, Pink caught sight of Henry. "What the hell is that guy doing on that line?

David's fury was interrupted as he paid attention too. "Wait, what is Henry looking for there?" He whispered to himself. Why does this guy feel quite suspicious?

The line Henry was in was for the most expensive rooms which they give special treatment, and that's people with the Diamond Card.

"He seems to want to disgrace himself, what a pitiful boy!" Pink added as they went to line up at the place meant for the golden card.

For the diamond cardholders, those rooms cost nothing less than eight million each, and they received the king treatment.

Those rooms are accommodated by Big men whose account speaks billions of dollars, and suddenly, a riffraff ruins the whole appearance and vibe by dressing like a cabman.

Henry was such a comedian!

"Who's going to tell this dude here that this line is meant for those who speak money?" David blabbed after leaving his line to disturb Henry.

Henry felt like giving him a hard punch. He turned back, "I actually think someone should tell you that minding one's business is the best way to avoid getting disgraced over and over again! What's your problem if I can't afford it?"

Once again, David felt like a complete fool. He was legit calling him a busybody! But, he would not rest until he won, and Henry was put to shame. Hehe!

"You, afford a room which costs eight million dollars? That is hilarious!"

"Can you even afford a bronze room worth thirty thousand dollars yet alone a Diamond room?" Pink chirped in.

He ran his hands through his hair as he rolled his eyes and faced forward. He was already so upset; David's voice was so loud that it attracted people's attention, who started looking at him.

Some laughed at him, agreeing to David that he couldn't afford it. Meanwhile, others judged him based on his appearance and demeanor. "What's he doing here?" they whispered.

This outburst also attracted the attention of the receptionist, Miranda. As she turned her head sideways, she saw him.

She shook her head and walked over to his side. The bright smile on her face twisted into a deep frown, "Who let you in at the first place?" She asked.

David giggled, because the question sounded funny. "Haha, of course it's the dumb guards who let someone like him in! They should be sacked instantly," he said.

Miranda rolled her eyes and sighed. This was the main reason for the campaign last week, to tighten the security! If people like him keep getting in easily, the hotel's value would surely reduce. She was about to take a step forward to call the guards, but stopped.

She stretched forth her right hand, saying, "Let me see your card. This isn't the bronze line, I think you're mistaken."

"I'm not," Henry replied, handing over the Diamond Card. Not only that, he also handed her a business card.

Miranda collected both, giving him a side-eye. But as soon as she saw them, her eyes and mouth opened wide. "Oh my God, you're Mr. Henry!" she exclaimed, covering her mouth as she looked at the card, then looked at him again in surprise.

It seemed to him that she had already been informed of his coming and was expecting him. By her expression, she realized he turned out to be the man she was waiting for, though he was dressed like someone from the streets.

"Your room is already ready, sir. I'm deeply sorry for my stupid actions towards you!" she said, smiling excitedly. She bowed her head and stretched out her hands. "Please follow me. You're not even supposed to stand at the back!"

She was about to call the guards to take him there, but she stopped and stretched forth her hands, showing him the way.

Everyone was surprised by her behavior towards him, both those who had laughed at him, and those who had judged him by his appearance.

"What the hell!" David exclaimed in shock.

"Hey, I think you should attend to me first, not him!" an angry man yelled out. "I've been waiting here at the front to be attended to, and you just ignored me.”

"I guess this is how they treat their true customers," David muttered as she gave Henry his keys. Then she noticed something.

"Sir, may I please see your card?" She asked David as he frowned and held it up.

"I'm sorry, but that's a bronze card, not a golden one. Please move to the next line," she said loudly from a distance.

"What! This is golden..." He was confused as he looked at the card in his hand again. He ran his hands over his face, feeling embarrassed at that moment.

Henry took his keys and room number. He was escorted by one of the guards, not only because he owned a diamond card, but also due to his importance to the hotel.

Everyone looked at him in shock, their faces filled with surprise.

Henry was overwhelmed, as he didn't know that he had come with a bronze card. With his wild mouth, David had mocked and embarrassed him, not knowing that he would end up embarrassed himself.

He looked on as David left the hotel, clearly ashamed as he should be.

David looked at how unbothered Henry was, unable to believe it. In his mind, Henry had just gotten lucky and it was merely chance, as there was no way Henry could possibly have such a huge amount of money.

When Henry reached his room, the guard opened the door for him. As he entered inside, his eyes opened wide at the sight of the king-sized bed. The chandelier cast a mixture of red and blue lights, illuminating the room with beautiful reflections.

The interior alone exuded royalty. It was a truly spacious open-concept area. He took a shower and opened a drawer, finding pajamas inside. Putting them on, he then lay down on the bed.

Soon, a knock came at his door. He used the remote control to open it. "Here is your meal, sir," said the staff, dropping it off before leaving.

He had truly passed through much in his life. He missed the times when he wasn't pretending to be poor.

He couldn't help but wonder if this was how innocent people get bullied, and poor people get insulted, just because of their status.

To him, the attitude came across as being pompous and idiotic, after all, it's not like they wanted to be in that position!

But, people being people....

The next day, after he took a shower, his phone rand on the bedside table. He picked it up, "Hello," he said.

"Someone very important wants to meet you, young master," the caller stated, before hanging up.

He grabbed a hoodie and sweatpants from the cupboard, wore them, left his room and strolled downstairs, wondering who it could be. Then a message came with an address.

After entering a taxi, he tried calling back to ask why they were meeting at the WildMay Boxing Club, but the phone was switched off.

When he arrived, he paid the driver and alighted the car. As he strolled inside, he was drawn to three Mercedes Benz cars parked in the corner.

It was the White Group car, as he saw the logo. Walking over to ask who he was meeting, he saw a lady exiting one of the vehicles.

She looked extremely expensive in her mermaid red dress and sunglasses. Everyone bowed as she stepped out. Then she turned to him, removing her eyeglass.

"Maid Stella?" He looked stunned to see her there. He recalled that back at the mansion, she was the only one who had treated him like a human and pitied him.

"We're no longer at Willstone mansion. So, don't call me that, call me Mum. It's been so long since I've heard my son call me that," she said with a smile, opening her arms.

Relieved and happy, he hugged her tightly in return.
