74: Masked

All these questions ran through his mind as he sighed heavily, his shoulders slumping with the weight of it all. He lay back on the bed, rubbing his hands over his face in frustration.

His brow furrowed as old memories and clues swirled in his thoughts. He would get to the bottom of this, just like all the other mysteries he'd solved.

As morning light filtered through the windows, he rolled onto his side.

After his shower, the hot water helped soothe his tired muscles but did little to calm his restless mind. He towel dried his hair, sending droplets flying around his bare shoulders.

Getting dressed in comfortable clothes, he paced the room as he debated his plan of attack. His stomach rumbled, reminding him he hadn't eaten. Breakfast was a hurried affair as he shoveled down cereal, barely tasting it in his focus.

As he contemplated working out at the gym versus at home, he rubbed his chin thoughtfully. The gym offered more equipment options but meant being around other people.
