80: Half-drowned rat

Amber scoffed, eyes rolling hard enough to strain something. Disdain crossed across her features. "I mean, just take a look at your fellow men," she said, gesturing around the room. "Are they dressed up like you are now?" She placed her hands firmly on her hips, leaning forward slightly as she scrutinized his plain clothes. "Even if you can't afford luxurious stuffs, can't you at least dress nicely? It wouldn't hurt you know."

Her hands rested firmly on her hips, as she stopped to await his response. It was as if his appearance personally offended her! Ugh!

Henry dragged both palms down his face, his bones tired just from her taunts. Why was he always surrounded with such negative energy?
