Chapter 06: Killing

So, Li Xin makes his move and lift his sword.

This is another move of the Thirteen Path of Sword

Lifting the Sword which divides into front lifting and rear lifting

This technique uses the three-quarter passive position. The body’s maneuvering here divides into forward and back.

Front lifting is for advancing.

Rear lifting is for retreating, your left hand assisting your right hand. Your right foot behind fills and your left foot in front empties as you move back

But Li Xin modified it a bit. He dodges left and right, his sword pointed forward and wherever he pointed the wolf’s death sentence is issued.

Another wolf jumped towards him with another wolf on his left and he executed blocking the sword.

Blocking the Sword which divides into blocking from below [reverse blocking] and overturned blocking

For reverse blocking, use a half passive position.

For overturned blocking [using a half active position], deflect your opponent’s sword as it nears your body, aiming for his wrist.

But since this is not a sword that is heading toward him, he targeted the wolves neck.

He blocks the claws swiftly sidestepping to the side avoiding a near collide with another wolf, kicks the ground and rises up into the air and then he slashes his sword downward from the air

A powerful force bursted out, three sword light flashes, three deep red line appears in the neck of three wolves and three heads fall down to the ground

From the beginning, Li Xin did not use his advanced skill but uses the basic moves that he had uses when he first arrived here in this world

He then strikes forward, a gust rises up, cut the one in front and the one in the back. the movement itself is swift and elegant and look like just a split second movement

This is another move of the Thirteen path of Sword which is Striking the Sword.

Like the other methods, Striking the sword divides into straight striking and reverse striking

Straight striking uses the one-quarter active position. Reverse striking divides into striking to the ear and striking to the wrist

But since Li Xin had already modified the skill to its penultimate level, he could use it freely without being constrained by how a move should be executed.

Li Xin had many understanding of how certain moves should be executed. As long as it reaches the destination, who cares how the moves is executed?

This kind of understanding of using the sword is easy to speak of but hard to be implemented. But Li Xin does it flawlessly.

When he dashes forward, the grass sways slightly but the force of the sword trusting forward is like lightning tearing off the world.

Then making a slight move to his left, his right hand which is holding the sword pas the sword to the left hand

The left had pointed toward his back, the footwork changes in that very moment, the sword thrusted to the back and the entire posture changes and strike toward the wolf opens mouth

A tearing sound could be heard as the sword tearing through the wolf throat and it did not stop there, as the sword keep going forward, cutting all that is in between and slices the stomach from the inside

Li Xin then lift his sword that is in the wolf stomach

 lifting it up, the sword is like a scissor cutting a fabric of silk and two wolf dies in just a matter of a second

The blood of the wolf flows from the area to the small stream not far away. The smell of blood is very strong but the wolves did not stop trying to charge toward Li Xin.

Li Xin then uses all of the basic skill of swords, not once he tries to uses the other high level skills he has.

He uses the method of stabbing the sword, tapping the sword, flicking the sword, each is used to respond to different situation.

By now, he had killed a dozen wolves. But more is coming.

Li Xin however is not afraid and instead become even more excited

‘How much would the system reward me for this?’ he thought to himself. Another wolf lunges toward him.

But this is not like before where he was in an encirclement. And as the battle goes on, Li Xin focus sharpened.

His movement of the sword is sublime; it is only the control of his inner energy that is less than stellar.

But even in the situation as more and more wolf that heard the call gathered around him and trying to encircle him, Li Xin did not let such situation to happen again.

Li Xian focus did not break.

He uses Swift Strides, jumping high, his eyes are sharp and his stamina is still in top shape.

The wolf misses its target, flying below Li Xin feet. He smiles. Li Xin did not wait for the wolf to land to the ground before his hand moves.

When his hand moves, his wrist moves and when his wrist moves, his sword also moves.

A sound of something tearing the wind echoes around the area, a powerful shockwave ripples across the air.

A flash of light appears, the sword tip stabs the head, penetrating three feet into the wolf brain. Li Xin then spin his sword the other way around and the wolf head explodes into smithereens, leaving a mist of blood

Blood splatters drenching the green grass.

On the sky, the clouds are white, the sun is shining bright, such a sunny day is a good day to laze around but here in the area below the shades of trees where the sunlight pierce the overlapping of the leaves of tall branches of tree, there is a battle that has created a blood river.

Any animals that come near the area and smell the pungent scent of blood could not help but retreat as quickly as they come.

It is only the pack of wolves that is coming towards him that is crazy enough to ignore the scent of the blood and instead become more excitable.

Li Xin right now did not think of anything else. There is no joke to tell and there are no thoughts about other things other than to swing his sword.

Li Xin when he kills that wolf by twisting his sword, he did not land into the ground but kick the wind below his feet and rise further into the air and landed on a branch of a tree.

In the past, it is not easy for him to change direction midair but because of him modifying and combining his lightness skill, it has become easier for him to change his direction in midair.

He saw that the wolves surrounded the tree as he takes a dep breath.

‘Even with all of my twelve meridian open, my lack of control over my inner energy makes my inner energy wasted a lot’

He clicked his tongue at this

There is a reason why Li Xin uses his inner energy even when he did not need to.

It is not only because it would make it easier for him to kill his enemies it is also because by using it, he would get more martial points.

If this is not a quest, the more he uses his inner energy in training or in battles or even a thing as simple as doing normal chores, he would be rewarded by the system

But in quest, that points would multiply a whole lot more.

That is why, he uses his inner energy unsparingly.

After all, right now, he is the only one in the mountain.

As for the hunters that come here, they hunt in a different area and they would not dare to come this high or a place that is known to have many beasts like this.

And Li Xin also makes an effort not to bump into these hunters. It is not that hard considering that most of the hunters is the villager down below the mountain

He is taking his breath and he could feel a portion of his inner energy is being replenished right now.

He did not use the pills that he has since he doesn't see the need to use such a precious pill right now.

After all, he was thinking of using this for something else. He is only confident if he has all of this stuff that he was storing.

As he was thinking of this, one of the wolf jump toward the tree from below and what is shocking, the tree which is twelve feet tall could be climbed by that wolf.

But the first attempt of that wolf ended in failure as it only reaches around seven feet before falling down. But Li Xin narrows his eyes

‘They really could jump to the top of this branch. Impressive. What kind of pill that could affect animals to this kind of degree? When I was playing this game, I never heard of such pill’

Though when he thinks about it again it only makes sense that he would not know of such a pill

After all, at that time he was just a normal disciple of a newly established sect. How much secrets could he knows about the world with such a position?
