Chapter 16: Reputation

Li Xin first look at his reputation

His reputation right now Uphold Justice. Then he frowned

‘What is reputation again?’ he thought to himself. This just shows how much care he puts in the system before.

Well, when you thought everything is a dream and being depressed all the time, Li Xin did not really pay attention to even his system and only pay attention to the things that is really important.

For anyone who entered Jianghu, the first reputation title is Just Entered Jianghu. This is default state for anyone who strive to walk the martial path.

To raise one reputation, the host could get the reputation either by doing good deeds or evil deeds.

When enough reputation is accumulated, whether it be good deeds or evil deeds, it would raise the host reputation level. The Reputation title could help in increasing skill points gains.

It also helps change the attitude of people when dealing with the host. For now, there is only two path that is available for the host.

Other path would be unlocked when the requirement is met

Heroic Path

(Those who pursue the Heroic Path would easily gain higher fame and skill points when helping righteous and orthodox path martial artist)

There are ten ranks of reputation for the Heroic Path.

Please note that reputation is illusory and is decided by the system

Evil Path

(Those who pursue the Evil Path would easily gain higher fame and skill points when helping evil and unorthodox path martial artist)

There are ten ranks of reputation for the Evil Path.

[The first starting reputation for those who is entering Jianghu with a righteous heart, a martial warrior that fight for the people]

[The first starting reputation for those who is entering Jianghu with a heart for power, a martial warrior that fight for oneself and strive for power at all cost]

Doing Noble Deeds

[Acknowledged to be doing good deeds that benefits the people]

[Those who pursue the Evil path must be merciless in the world of Jianghu that is full of coldhearted people]

the four corners of Wulin would steer far from the path that you are walking. Wicked and Vicious, these are the labels of those who do not understand that a warrior should dedicate his life to their martial path]

[ All the righteous hero knows, and eager to make acquainted for someone whose righteousness is famous all over the world. The words is trusted, the act is honorable, looking at the Heavens, one would not be ashamed, looking at the world, one would praise the person]

[ You are known to the world for your wicked deeds. Whether you are evil or not, only your heart knows. But with such reputation also comes fears. The heterodox path martial artist would fear and respect you while the righteous way would abhor you and tries to eliminate you]

[Guarded the Way for the righteous martial artist, the righteous martial artist could be commanded and the bane of the evil path]

The nemesis of the Right Path and will have great burst of energy of evil when fighting righteous and orthodox people. You are considered as a bane of the righteous way but with your reputation there is only few people who would dare to fight against you]

Sage of the Martial Path

(Requirement is to be a Grandmaster. This condition and the effect of this title would  only be revealed when you have reached the Incorruptible reputation)

Tenth rank [Special rank]

Devil of the Martial Path

(Requirement is to be a Grandmaster. This condition and the effect of this title would only be revealed when you have reached the Enemy of the World

Special rank is the rank where reputation of the host is as numerous as the stars in the sky. When the host reaches this rank, it means the host has reached almost the apex of reputation

This is the table of his reputation. He did not know that it is divided and having so much detailed description for each title.

Right now, he is probably considered a righteous martial hero considering that he had the Uphold Justice title.

‘This must have something to do with my act of killing the wolves’ Like the system said, reputation gain is judged by the systems and he could not rank it up

It depends on his deed.

Li Xin had never wanted to be evil in the first place and so he is quite content of walking the path of the righteous hero.

But of course he also knows that the righteous sect might not be as righteous as they would like to portrayed themselves.

After all, Li Xin had read wuxia stories before.

After all, if he is not interested in that kind of wuxia stories before, he would not have downloaded the game in the first place

So, he knows that sometimes the righteous sect might not be righteous and the evil sect might not be evil. As there is evil people in righteous sect, there is good people in heterodox sect.

Of course, this world might not accept that and look at it differently from him. But he would act according to circumstances and following his heart

If he had to think and weigh every option n even when having the system, he is truly not worthy to be a protagonist.

And it is not that bad to also have reputation of a Devil. From what he reads in the description of the title, like the title of the Wicked Villain of the Martial Path.

The description for that rank is

It is the word that “Whether you are evil or not, only your heart knows”. This implies that it does not mean having the evil title really means you are evil, but it had something to do how the world looks at you

He is reminded that in the Demi Gods and Semi Devils, for most of the story Qiao Feng is thought to be a bad guy and it isn’t until the battle in Shaoshi mountain it is revealed that the one killing all the people is Qiao Feng father.

But for most of the story, many those who are in the righteous sect thought of Qiao Feng as evil person after simply knowing that he is a Qidan.

So, Li Xin believes that the reputation is not actually an accurate depiction of the true personality of the host but the perception of the people of the world towards him.

 If Li Xin is actually an evil person but kept doing good things, and the people thinks that he is a good person, then the system might judge him as a righteous hero.

Whether this is true or not, it needs more time for him to investigate it.
