Chapter 35: Stick with the Plan

As for upgrading the rank or buying new skill, he decided to do it in the evening or at night. He would let his mind rest for a bit. He already has too much information poured into his mind and he ought to take it slow a bit.

It seems that his mental energy is not that strong yet.

He swipes the status window with his hand and then he enters back his house. He then eats some snack made of meat something like a beef jerky.

This time he did not want to bathe in the tub.

The sun is shining bright overhead so he wanted to swim in the river. There is a small stream of river, deep enough for him to submerged himself and large enough for him to swim around

The ancient world seems to be more hospitable to life.

The air is so clear that just by inhaling it, his headache feel a bit lightened. If this is a normal headache, he would surely be cured of it in just a couple of minute.

Maybe, it is also because this world is a bit different than his word.

Even though it is the ancient world, it could not be considered the ancient world of his world. There are too many differences between the two. But the history is almost the same

He is quite sure of this. He sat down on the kitchen seat on the back of his hut and drinks a couple cups of tea and then after a while, feeling the breeze from the outside coming in and drying of his sweat, he got up.

Li Xin then took something out from his wooden rattan basket.

Holding it in his hand he smiles. On Li Xin hand right now is soap. He doesn't know what brand it is but it is clearly a branded soap.

It is a pity that the system store did not sell things like conditioner or bath foam.

But soap is enough.

It cost him 90 Wen but to him 90 Wen is cheap. He bought a lot of it when he first got money from the system

Of course, he is quite sure that if he goes down the mountain, 90 Wen is a lot for poor families.

He got out of the hut, close the door and went out from the entrance and then began jumping on top of branches of tree to go to a secluded site.

He arrived at a different place in just a couple of minutes. He landed on the ground and walk leisurely in the forest.

Then after a few minutes, he could hear the sound of the water and he smiles. There is a trail leading to a thick deep forest.

He follows that trails and after passing some bushes, he arrived in a place that have a stream of water. There is large block of boulders on the upper side of the stream

There must be a river somewhere in this mountain.

But Li Xin did not have the time to explore the source of this river stream. All he knows is that it exists and it is a good spot for him to relax while bathing.

Who said he could not have a relaxed life in the forest?

Li Xin knows that if he did not have the system how could he live so leisurely in this forest.

In the past, he is quite afraid of bugs and crawling insects. The one he hated the most is centipedes and scorpion.

Those two really freaks him out

He once got bitten by a centipede and got rushed to an emergency ward when he was a child. So, he got a bit of trauma there.

But when he learns the Hunter life skill, these things become nothing but prey in his eyes.

Even his trauma is not that big of a deal.

When he hunts sometimes, there would be centipede crawling around. In the past he would have jumped away and ran.

But when he learns the Hunter skill, and sees a centipede, he would just stomp it with his foot. If not using his foot he could just simply use his sword or dagger.

Of course, killing centipede is different from killing people. For centipede, you must smash them and not cut them. Stomping them is more effective than cutting them. If you cut them, the body and the head could still move and bit you.

It is these kind of thing that made him able to live inside the forest comfortably.

He knows how to deal with all the insects and animal in this forest and the fear he had about the forest is alleviated.

He then undressed and put his clothes on top of a tree branches. The tree branches itself is not that high, only higher a bit that his chest area.

Then he jumps into water, the water itself is cool and he swims around the area before finally resting on the boulder, letting the water washes away the grimes and the fatigue.

Li Xin also circulates his inner energy while at the same time bathing himself. He uses the soap and then he just laid there on the boulder.

There are many things that he is thinking about. But, at least right now, he is thinking in a relaxed manner.

‘Huu. Bathed by clear water, looking at the clear sky, breathing the fresh air. It felt even better than a five-star hotel’ he mutters and he laugh.

He had a feeling of wanting to drink wine and appreciate the scenery but he restrained himself.  He laughed as he laid down on the boulder while thinking

The sound of nature enters his ears, calming down his nerves. He needs days like this where he could calm down

Increasing his strength is vital but he also knows that he have to care ab out his mental state. Maybe as time passes by the fact that he had left his old life would not be that much of a big deal

But for now, it is a big deal and he needs to learn how to deal with it. So, every once in a while, he decided to take a break.

He takes a deep breath and then exhales. Breathing in this world is a very delightful thing. It might be the fact that it is not as polluted as his world

Each time he breathes there is energy that made him rejuvenated. Then after just thinking of nothing for a few minutes, he began thinking of what to do next after this.

There is still the question of using the skill points. The amount of skill points he had right now….is very little.

‘I need to find a way to trigger quest’ he thought to himself.

‘If I’m truly desperate I think I would have to buy some powerful inner energy skill in the system store. That way I could still train and quickly raise my martial skill points’

And then he thought about his enemies. In the forest, his enemies are usually only the beast roaming around.

Unless they take the opportunity to mess with him, Li Xin would usually steer clear of them. Not all of them generates a quest.

He could not really guess the requirement for the system to mark it as a quest. Sometimes he felt like the system is arbitrarily giving him quest.

But other than the beast, today, there is a new enemy. That person who has shot that needle trying to incapacitate him.

Li Xian had put that needle in one of the wooden box that he had crafted.

‘I was doing my business and still could not escape calamity. Do I have bad luck or something?’ he thought to himself and sigh

Li Xin hopes that he would not meet that person again. He does not want to get dragged into something complicated right now.

He is one hundred percent sure that the one attacking him must have a story.

How could it not?

That person whoever he or she is (though Li Xin believe it is a man considering that he sees a glimpse of that person body strudel) must have a reason for hiding in this mountain.

Of course he knows that mountain is basically like some kind of place where martial artist goes to practice their art. But usually they would not raise wolves and they would not drug the wolves.

For someone that have such a mysterious reason for hiding in this mountain, such a person must have a story. 

If based on the wuxia novels he had read before, there is many tropes. That person might be an exiled disciple of some powerful sect.

That person could also be an evildoer that is hiding from the hunting of the forces in Wulin. Or that person could be hiding some treasure in the mountain.

There is many of such tropes in the novels he had read. He is quite sure that person would at least fit one of those tropes.

But, whatever the tropes are, the one thing that stands out, is that it would be very complicated. It is this complicated part that makes Li Xin hesitant to cross path with that person

It was not like he is not tempted to search for treasures but he at least need to be alive to enjoy the treasure.

And since he already has his plan, he would rather stick with his plan.
