Xavier : Mr. Extraordinary

Chapter 10 : Misunderstanding

Xavier looked at the photo in Alex's hand with a frown. The photo shows that Emily and Kenneth Stanley were indeed in a relationship. a photo where the two of them are on vacation on the beach together.

"This is crazy. I know Emily never fell for Mr. Stanley," Eliana interjected.

"This photo clearly shows that Emily and this man are in a relationship. If this wasn't all part of the mission, why is he here?" asked Alex, who started interrogating Emily.

"I can guess. He seems to be in love with Emily but doesn't manage to get her. So when he found out that Emily was missing, he worked with Tom to avenge Emily," Eliana explained. The woman crossed her arms; she faced her sister and asked, "Is what I said true, right?"

Emily just nodded slightly. She took a deep breath. She really did not expect that all of this would happen after so long since she had not met Mr. Stanley. Emily felt uneasy because she knew that Mr. Stanley was very strong.

Xavier could guess all of that from the look on Emily's face and her demeanor. Because Emily always looked very calm and didn't speak much, but this time all the panic enveloped her.

"Then we have to make sure Mr. Stanley is on our side. He must know all the things that actually happened here," Xavier said.

"You're right, Xavier. The only way we can defeat Tom is with Mr. Stanley," said Eliana.

"Wait," Emily interrupted. She again sighed heavily and said, "Beating Tom doesn't mean we all win. We still don't know what's behind Gary, Tom, and the government."

Xavier nodded, understanding Emily's words. Everything she said was true. Being able to beat Tom doesn't mean winning over all the cases that befall them. Actually, Xavier felt that Emily didn't know much about the real Gary. It seems that Gary is hiding something that makes the man resigned to his condition in the prison created by Eliana.

For several days, no attacks occurred against Xavier and the others. However, that didn't mean they could breathe easily because, after all, they were sure that Tom wasn't just waiting on the other side but was preparing an attack plan.

Because of that, for the past few days they have all gathered in the headquarters, staying there for a while to devise a plan that can thwart all plans of Tom and his agency. Currently, Xavier is accompanying Alex in assembling his electronic devices. Alex had just finished making an armor costume that could protect their bodies from hard attacks such as bullets, fire, and iron.

"Where did you learn all this from?" asked Xavier to open the chat.

Alex just took a glance as he continued his work and said, "Someone."

Xavier stopped doing his job; he remembered something that was in his apartment. "I kept something in my apartment."

"Is it important?" said Alex indifferently.

"Yes," replied Xavier. He went near the monitor and found out about the items in his apartment: "You've heard of a chip that can turn someone into a superhero?"

Alex stopped doing his activities. He looked at Xavier with a suspicious look in his eye and said, "Sure."

"In Tom's agency headquarters, there are lots of sophisticated tools that are beyond common human reason. One of them was a costume that was in the principal's room, although it was never worn, and I suspect one of the reasons Tom asked Mr. Stanley is all about the shirt too," Xavier said.

Alex looked silent and thought for a moment, "I know. It's been there a long time; Tom said it was just his collection."

"Because the chip is in my apartment!" Xavier answered, he sighed, "I found the chip on the costume and I took it without Tom knowing, maybe he's awake now."

"Why did you take that chip, you idiot!?" cursed Alex, who looked very annoyed.

"I'm curious; the costume has a mask. Inside the mask there is a place for the chip. I was curious and wanted to research it, but so far I have never had the chance, and to be honest, I don't understand things like that differently than you do," Xavier replied.

"You have to bring the chip here!" ordered Alex.

"I cannot do it! Don't you remember? Eliana already made the news as if I had died. If I suddenly came back to the apartment, it would ruin all our plans!" replied Xavier, who already looked furious with Alex.

"Then let me just take it!" Alex exclaimed excitedly.

That night, after the conversation between Alex and Xavier took place, they jumped into action. Inside their base, Xavier and Emily monitor Alex and Eliana's operations via a monitor located in the base. Aided by their special communication tools, designed by Alex himself.

From the monitor screen, it can be seen that Alex and Eliana managed to enter the apartment wearing janitor's clothes. The two of them moved hand in hand with the cleaning supplies; they tried not to steal the show and to act normal.

Eliana pressed the bell several times, while Alex silently dialed the password from the apartment door according to Xavier's earlier instructions. From the monitor, Xavier and Emily can make sure that everything is safe until Alex and Eliana enter Xavier's apartment.

"The chip is in my bedroom," Xavier said from their communication device.

When he heard that, Alex immediately went to a different room with Eliana, who was watching the situation while standing in the living room. Alex enters the room; he searches for the chip with Xavier's help.

"Where is it?" he asked.

Xavier narrowed his eyes; he felt something was wrong with his apartment room. "I put it in the cupboard; there was a wooden box filled with motivational books. Second book from bottom, page 162."

Alex immediately unpacked Xavier's contents; he managed to find the wooden box that Xavier intended, then opened it and took one of the second-order books from the bottom book. After finding the book, Alex immediately opened page 162, according to the instructions.

"Nothing, are you sure of page 162?" asked Alex to make sure.

"I'm sure I've never misremembered, especially on important items like that," said Xavier.

Emily next to Xavier patted the man on the shoulder while showing the bathroom door in Xavier's room, which was slightly open; indeed, it was slightly open before, but this time a little bigger than before, "There are people in there."

"Down!" Xavier ordered.

Upon hearing that, Alex's reflex immediately squatted down for a moment. And at the same time, there was a sound of bullets coming out of the gun and piercing the cupboard behind Alex.

bang!

Xavier can see someone coming out of the bathroom. a figure he never thought would be in his room.
