Chapter 3 : Rebellion plan

"Who did you bring, Rodriguez?" asked one of the two men.

"My fiancé, that I told you about yesterday," Olivia replied as she drew closer to Jacob. She let go of the hug from Jacob's hands and walked closer to the monitor, saying, "Don't worry, he won't do anything."

"Alex," said one of the men there while sticking out his hand.

Xavier replied, "Jacob."

They simultaneously glanced at the honorable figure beside them. Xavier smiled kindly at the mayor, holding out his hand and saying, "Nice to meet you, Mr. Immanuel. I'm Jacob Brown."

The man who is the mayor of the city returned Xavier's outstretched hand; he smiled kindly and said, "Nice to meet you too."

"Should it be now?" asked Olivia without looking up from the monitor.

Xavier stared at the monitor. He read carefully the profile of the figure displayed on the monitor. Xavier didn't know the figure, but from his name and job, he could tell that something was wrong within the government system.

Seth Christopher, age 48. Minister of Defense and State Security. Xavier just silently observed, but he still didn't understand the current situation. Previously, he was hired to investigate Olivia, but when he was in this place, why did everything look as if the woman was innocent?.

"We have to get rid of him immediately; he is the one behind the news. It is very clear that they are twisting the facts," said Alex, who looked furious.

"Are you sure he's the one who made my name ugly? What if it turns out there is more than one person behind it?" Olivia asked, turning to look at Alex.

"Obviously, he didn't do it alone. In yesterday's board meeting, he seemed completely disinterested in the topic. How can we say that he is the mastermind behind it all?" asked Eric Immanuel.

Xavier's gaze shifted to the mayor; he knew that yesterday the governing council held a meeting to discuss a huge corruption case committed by the land mafia. The case was stated to be very, very detrimental to the state, so it must be resolved immediately.

"He's just a doll," Olivia replied with a chuckle. "What does an old fart like him know among the ranks of the younger generation? If we notice, all he does in the meeting room is play on his phone."

Olivia showed a video of the situation in the meeting room that seemed to have come from a hidden surveillance camera on the monitor in front of her. Xavier's forehead wrinkled when he saw that. He looked at Olivia, who seemed more and more attractive to him.

"The man is downstairs," interrupted Alex.

"What would you do?" asked Eric while being wary of Alex, who looked even more furious.

"He was celebrating his daughter's wedding; not all officials came. I mean, you weren't even invited to join, Eric. Behind this party, there must be something; that's why I saw the presence of the Minister of Finance," replied Alex.

"Then terror alone. That way we can find out who is behind this problem," Olivia said, giving a crazy suggestion.

Alex looked closer at Eric. He patted Eric's shoulder while smiling to reassure him, "Don't worry, Olivia and I can already do something like this. You can go back home and lose all traces."

After that, there was no more conversation. The mayor left with the three of them. The room was silent; there was no more conversation between Alex and Olivia. However, Alex kept observing Xavier's movements as if he were suspicious of him.

"Stop staring at Jacob like that," Olivia said, looking annoyed at Alex.

Xavier is just sitting there, he must be very careful now. Just a little mistake, and history will be over. At first, maybe he could take Olivia lightly, but after seeing the conversation earlier, it had convinced Xavier not to look at the woman only from the outside.

"Who is he really?" Alex asked Olivia, "I'm not someone you can lie to easily."

Olivia approached Xavier while embracing him tenderly and saying, "My chosen one. It is likely he will replace Sam's position, depending on his performance tonight."

"Sam? Is he too old? You can't bring random people like this anyway!" snapped Alex.

Xavier laughed inwardly. He knew that Alex was jealous of him; from the way the man scolded Olivia, it was very clear. The point is that he has his heart set on this woman. However, Olivia seemed indifferent to Alex. She looked at Xavier with a very sweet smile.

"Is there anything I can help you with, madam?" asked Xavier, who finally spoke after a long time.

Olivia pointed out the maid's clothes that were on the couch in the room, saying, "I haven't used my own hands for something like this in a long time. Tonight, you and I will play the maids at the banquet downstairs."

Xavier received a communication device that was almost identical to the one he had. Olivia put the device in Xavier's ear. The woman also provided identification for their new identities.

"Just remember that it's only me and Alex that can hear. Besides, your name tonight will not be Jacob, but Justin, according to this waiter's ID. Say one time using the tool," explained Olivia.

"What should I do there?" he asked.

"Looking around is safe, because then Alex will make a mess. When the situation is not conducive, you must quickly leave the place and return to the car without a maid outfit, understand?" she said.

Xavier nodded in understanding; he said goodbye to change clothes in the toilet. While changing clothes, Xavier stared at the toilet glass with a crooked smile. The more he came here, the more he felt that everything was getting very interesting. When finished, Xavier came out of the bathroom. There was no Olivia or Alex anymore, which is why Xavier immediately decided to go down to the lobby to do his job.

The party went very smoothly; it turned out that the guests who were present were unexpected. Xavier stood near the towering wedding cake, from where he saw the figure of a woman with blonde hair wearing a maid's outfit serving the guests. His forehead wrinkled when he realized that the blonde-haired figure was Olivia, even though the woman's real hair was jet black.

Xavier didn't see Alex's whereabouts at all; all he saw were the important guests having fun. The average of these guests is composed of the people's representatives and high-class businessmen. For a moment, Xavier stared at the man he had seen earlier on the monitor. The figure was dancing with a woman much younger than himself, but she didn't look like his family.

Not far from the figure named Seth, Xavier could see Alex with a gun in his hand. Xavier's gaze shifted to the chandelier that was directly above Seth and the young woman, and his eyes widened when he realized that Alex had already pulled the trigger from the gun in his hand.

bang!
