But as he stared at the crushed car beside him, something within him shifted, he felt a little ache in his heart, though he wanted to ignore it but he couldn't no matter how hard he tried. Memories, painful and bittersweet memories, filled his mind.
He remembered the agony his parents passed through as their body got weakened while life slipped away from them each passing day till they eventually died. His heart ached as he recalled his little sister's sadness over the loss of their parents. The cries of pain and hopelessness, the memories of his sick parents, the sad expression of Joan his little sister, his painful past, they all filled his memories giving him no chance of escaping the cruel reminder of how much he had lost in his life. His family. As if the loss wasn't enough, the unthinkable and unexpected happened. He fought hard to stop the tears that pooled up in his eyes from rolling down as he remembered the day he had lost his sister, she was taken away from him by a tragic accident. The pain of that loss cut deep, leaving an indelible scar upon his soul.Xavier clenched hard on his jaws as he glared at the wrecked car. How could he afford to let someone die here? What was the guarantee that help was on the way? With a strong resolve, he unmounted his bicycle and pushed it to park it beside the car and after making sure the bicycle was leaned properly on the car, he proceeded to open the back door of the car which already had a dent on it, the rain still pouring down on the surface of the earth without showing any signs of stopping.Xavier was met with the sight of a man in his mid 60s, whose head was leaned to the other side but he could see the man's white shirt was stained with blood. He called out, "Sir?" his voice filled with a mix of concern and determination, he nudged gently at the man but received no response. Now Xavier wasn't sure if this man was alive or dead but as he turned towards the direction of the driver's seat, he noticed the driver was not in a good state either. The car was totally quiet. This could cause him his job but it was fine anyways, this should be worth it, hopefully. The soft stench of blood reached his nose, the metallic smell causing his nose to itch. Along the smell of blood, Xavier could perceive the smell of wealth, filled in the confines of the car. And now he was sure this person was a rich man.He looked around for an SOS button to make a quick emergency call as time was running, he located the button on the dashboard and the moment he pressed the button, he was directly connected.(Scene shifts to a hospital)An anxious Xavier sat in the waiting hall of the hospital as ordered by the doctor, with his head bowed low and his feet tapping fast on the floor, he was beginning to regret giving a helping hand.Because that might end up being the worst decision of his life, he took in a deep breath which was accompanied with the typical smell of a hospital, he hated hospitals.Hospitals were the reason he never saw his parents, however, the last time he'd seen his parents was also inside a hospital. His mind shifted to his bicycle and the coffee he was supposed to deliver. What could be the condition of the coffee? Was it still hot? Would he loose his job? Xavier questioned himself as he felt the anxiety killing him already.Maybe he should just leave already, his job here was done, he had no other important things to do here because, clearly he wasn't even related to the victim of the accident, he was just a passer-by.Yes, that was the right decision. And thus he stood up, ready to leave. But just as he took few steps away from where he sat, his eyes fell on five people who held worried expressions as they ran past him.The sight reminded him of how he was once in that position when the life of his parents were barely hanging on a loose thread. But those things shouldn't matter, at least not now.Xavier shook his head and was ready to proceed when he suddenly felt himself being yanked backwards by a strong pull and before he could apprehend what was going on, a silhouette stood before him, grabbed forcefully on his collars and a strong blow landed on his jaw."You! How dare you?!" The thunderous voice of the person who forcefully held him filled his ears as the person unceremoniously shook his body and gave him a strong push. With shock and anger, Xavier was ready to retaliate but he wasn't given a chance to because two men were quick to grab and pull the rascal away from him before he got the chance to return the blow ten times harder."Preston! What has come over you?" A woman screamed as she approached the rascal who had attacked Xavier for no reason. The rascal was no one but Preston Biller, the son of a multimillionaire. Right now, he was seething in rage after hearing his father got into an accident and all he wanted to deal with the person who caused the accident. The woman was his mother, Edner Biller, she placed her hands on his shoulder and said, "How can you act this way? We are in a public place, please."Edner, a young woman in her mid 50s, her hair in a tight bun, her satin dress screaming of nothing but wealth, she left Preston's side and approached a confused Xavier who was still trying to understand the sudden situation. He frowned at the woman who now stood before him and was glaring at him with disgust and anger written all over her face. And then...*PAK!A loud harsh sound resonated the hall as Xavier's face was wiped to the left due to the hard slap that landed his cheek. Great! Another slap! But what the hell?!"You are the piece of sh*t that caused my husband's accident. How dare you?" Edner questioned with her eyes narrowed down at him, feeling no single remorse for her actions.Xavier was rendered speechless at the woman's accusations, with his palm rubbing slowing on his probing cheek that had been struck too many times today, he stared at her with confusion written on his face."Look at that." She pointed, an unamused smile playing on her lips, "Trying to act ignorant, aren't we? You will pay for this, I'll make sure you get locked up in prison, son of a biscuit." She cursed and turned her back at Xavier."What are you waiting for? Arrest him!" Edner ordered and two officers approached Xavier and placed an handcuff on his wrist.Xavier who had lost the ability to speak due to the sudden turn of event was taken away from the hospitals building.A/N: The characters would be better understood as the story progresses. Thank you :)Inside a VIP ward, the Biller family sat, surrounding the bed where the head of the family laid unconscious with bandages around his head and a drip connected to his wrist. The three individuals held different expressions that was far from pleasant as they prayed and hoped for Mr Charles Biller's fast recovery."Damn that fool!" Preston cursed with a sharp intake of breath, inhaling the air that reeked of medicine. His curse words overshadowing the beeping sound coming from where Mr Charles laid for a moment. "You should have just let me deal with him personally." He pressed on as he stomped his feet on the floor, now directing his glares at his mother."You need to calm down son, there are better ways to deal with him and I would make sure of it. Right now, we have to pray for your father's quick recovery." Mrs Edner Biller explained to her angry son because that was what seemed important at the moment. The fool will be taken care of, but only after her husband's health has been stab
ONE WEEK LATER.In a dark cold room, Xavier who had been locked in here for a long time and had eventually lost track of time sat in a corner, with his head buried in between his folded legs. His loud and shaky breathing filled the place.Few days ago, he was brought in here after the interrogation session with those unknown men and due to the unending darkness inside this room, he couldn't tell how many days had passed. And the most disturbing thing was the acrid smell of gunpowder that filled the air. Where was this place? He asked himself only to be interrupted by the growling sound coming from his stomach. He was hungry and tired and most of all, Xavier was angry and filled with nothing but rage and the urge to kill somebody—maybe the woman who accused him of killing her husband. However, the sad reality was, he couldn't do anything to fight back. Not only was he locked inside in here and for days, he was powerless as a man. He held no power to defend himself, he was weak while th
The next day which was the 24th of march 2020, the Biller's manor was buzzing with servants moving left and right, decorating and preparing for today's event. The Biller family would host a party to welcome Mr Charles Biller from the hospital and for his safe and quick recovery. It's was 06:15 AM but everybody was wide awake doing one thing or the other except for a certain oblivious someone. In the servant quarters, a stone throw away from the manor, a certain someone was still fast asleep, not knowing of today's event and how busy everyone was.A female servant who was assigned to clean the servant quarters today was doing her job obediently but when she got to the male room, she noticed someone was still lying on their bed.She frowned a bit and walked up to the person, she tapped lightly on his shoulder but the person wouldn't move an inch. She leaned a bit towards him and noticed he was the new male servant that was appointed just yesterday."If he keeps slacking off in this mann
Right after Madam Maeve knocked, she opened the and stepped. A confused Xavier had to follow suit but not after thinking for a second. But the moment he stepped in after Madam Maeve, his senses was first assaulted with the luxurious smell of lavender, followed by the magnificent view of the spacious bedroom and then the soft sound of music coming from the stereo. He was awed at how a place could feel like heaven but that didn't last for a minute because his fantastical thought vanished the moment he recognized everyone in the room, even though he couldn't see their faces and didn't make eye contact with them. The awe and admiration disappeared from Xavier's face immediately after he recognized the people in the room.'These lunatics of a family...' he cursed and was about to voice out the thought he had kept deep in his heart, waiting for the right day to voice it out. However, Xavier was quick to remember who he really was, a pathetic weak loser that could never fight or stand up for
No amount of words could explain how Xavier felt as he stepped out of that hell of a room he had thought was heaven. But one thing's for sure, what he was currently feeling was nothing near pleasant or a good feeling. He felt the most horrible way ever and the only thing he wanted to do was just disappear from this world and never to be seen, that way, his sufferings would end.Yes, that's right, he would disappear from this cruel world and never to be seen again. Living this life was not worth it.He walked around the huge mansion looking for the exit and not being aware of how he was catching so much attention. With anger, rage, pain, regret and so many other emotions blurring half his eye sight, he finally found the exit out of this shitty hell hole and he left the house through the front door. Now all that was left was to finally leave the premises and then look for what proper way to die and leave this world.Xavier was walking, not knowing where he was now but he knew he was hea
It took Xavier almost a week to recover from all the injuries he had sustained from the dog bites and to his surprise, the Biller family were sending doctors to him every once in a while to check up on him. Xavier refused to see any kind intentions behind that.To him, they were just treating his dog bites just so he would be healthy enough to work for them. There was no way the Biller family could be so kind to just treat him, there's got to be a reason and Xavier was sure it was for their own personal benefit and nothing else. And of course, Blair wouldn't stop pestering him to the extent where he became uncomfortable around her. Through out his days of recovering, she would constantly visit, behaving weird and asking him questions that made him almost freak out. She was another bunch of trouble to him and he wanted to avoid her at all cost.Today was Friday, the last day of the week days before the weekend and today was also the very first day of Xavier working for the Billers and
A personal driver? Was this good news or bad news? Xavier wondered to himself while trying to digest this piece of information.Maybe this was good news after all. Being a driver was way better than being a lowly male servant. At least he wouldn't have to clean or serve. Neither would he get to face this annoying family all the time. But it seems someone was against this."What is the meaning of this? What do you mean by personal driver? Do you realize you are giving him a promotion when he hasn't even started working? For someone like him to be promoted to the position of a personal driver, he has to work for it. Don't be ridiculous." Preston ranted as he pointed out, it was clear he was against this sudden promotion, as he'd deemed it."You talk too much and I wasn't asking for your opinion neither do I need your permission. And this is not your father's company where you can control almost everything." Blair fired, not backing down as she stared at Preston's bloodshot with a rather
By the time Xavier drove to the club Blair had directed him to, dusk was already fast approaching and soon night would fall.Though his body and mind were exhausted, he needed to get rid of the exhaustion and stay active for the whole time the ladies would stay clubbing. He found a good spot in the parking lot and parked the car. Without saying a word, he patiently waited for the ladies to step down and he would have the car to himself and would use the opportunity to take a quick nap.Xavier looked at Blair through the rearview mirror and could see the happy smile on her face as she tilted her head to the side to look at the club's entrance through the car's window. She looked super excited as if she had not been to the club for ages. Like a child who had finally gotten the candy, he had so much wanted.Blair could hear the booming sound of music coming from the club and happiness bubbled inside her and it could explode at any time, she just couldn't wait. She turned towards her frien
