"How's it going? Have you found her?" Xayne arrived in hurried strides.

"No, we haven't found Ms. Serena," a firefighter replied.

Xayne took out his phone, checked the recent calls, and calculated that there were less than ten minutes left.

"What do we do? Ten minutes, and they haven't located Serena."

Xayne's mind raced. The more urgent the situation, the cooler his mind became. It was a trait honed from years on the battlefield in the Northern Plains.

Seconds ticked away, less than nine minutes remaining.

"If it comes down to it, we'll have to rely on the bomb disposal expert to defuse the bomb," the fire chief said.

"No way. With this little time, we have no certainty of defusing the bomb. Even the best bomb expert in Drakonia wouldn't be able to do it," the bomb disposal experts agreed.

"Forget it. I'll do it myself. Let me know the time once you've defused one," Xayne decided.

With a leap, Xayne entered the building, punching open the elevator doors.
