CHAPTER 77

When Leon finally reached the cottage, it was already morning. He was welcomed by the familiar aroma of the area. It was not just pleasing in the eyes but also the nose, unlike the places he ventured in the past weeks of his quest.

“Woah, it’s good to be back. There is no place like home,” said Leon with a smile as he stretched his arms upward.

He was so tired from his trip that he just wanted to lie down on his bed and sleep; because these past weeks he had not been able to have plenty of sleep like he usually gets in his room.

His eyes were filled with joy when he finally spotted the woman he’d been longing to see. Emily is tending to the garden in the front yard.

To his surprise and delight, she has grown a full-blooming garden in the weeks he has been away.

In an instant, he felt like his heart was light, and he stood in the gateway, just looking at her while she was smiling and watering the plants.
