Chapter 113: Saving Eleanor

Lawrence's POV

I followed Eleanor and Charles to a remote corridor and saw Eleanor walking out through the back door of the bar.

Directly connected to the back door was a very narrow and deserted alley where the ground was filled with garbage and sewage; courtesy of the nearby businesses. There were also broken pieces of furniture stacked against the dilapidated walls. This was the perfect place to rob and kill Eleanor, which was exactly why Charles and the others so relentlessly pursued her.

This alley was built like a maze and for a moment, I threw Charles' sense of direction off. I seized the opportunity and quickly pulled Eleanor to hide in a nearby abandoned phone booth.

At first, Eleanor thought I was Charles for she struggled desperately in my arms, but soon she smelled my scent and became quiet.

Her whole body sagged against mine and her voice quivered as she whispered, "Lawrence, is it truly you?"
