Bena's POV

I hit the call button but the operator told me that the number was no longer in service. Right. I realized with a sinking heart that he had blocked my number. I immediately felt the world around me was useless. What was the point of doing so much to end up with nothing and no one? What was the point of love?

Lawrence didn't want any contact with me anymore.

I felt angry and resentful. When I returned to my apartment, I picked up the empty vase with a drawing of a happy couple and smashed it against the wall. I felt like they were mocking me. In a fit of rage, I smashed the plates, the cups and whatever I could to vent my anger.
