Chapter 64 The Grudges

Eleanor's POV

I couldn't believe that Jack had betrayed me. We had been good friends.

My whole body was stiff, and I was trembling with fear. I looked at Eve and asked, "Did you kill my father?"

Eve shrugged and said, "That's what Uncle Harvey did. Obviously, he acted faster than us, but he's crueler and stupider than us."

I didn't understand why they attacked my house and even killed my father Peter.

I had too many questions. I thought Eve might tell me the answers.

I asked, "Why? What grudge do you have against my family?"

Eve said, "Eleanor, I think you may have misunderstood something. We hold no grudge against your family. In fact, we have no malice towards the human couple. If they were willing to tell us where you were, we would be happy to let them go, but they didn't appreciate it."

I was scared and furious, and I shivered.
