Chapter Six – United
Two months passed since Dominic had been hosted in Selene’s apartment. His mental health had regained stability.
His physical body was nurturing but his emotional wellbeing had been shambling upon shambling.
New discoveries about what the Allen family had achieved while he was in coma dug holed in his head. “They now have three branches abroad?”
The Allen’s group could barely be known in their home country if not for him, then how did they attain some popularity?
Well, it wasn’t surprising. Some slander had been placed on the Thales family. Slander used by the Allen’s family to chase clout.
An accusation that Master Thales, Dominic’s grandfather, had killed his daughter and son to have the company to himself.
Also, his grandson, Dominic was kept in a vegetative state because of him.
It made sense why Master Thales ran away and why the company fell because of disappointed and gullible supporters.
Also, before that, Allen’s group made Brielle withdraw a huge sum of money from the Thales account. As a family member, she had the pins.
The money was without doubt used to fund all the Allen’s group branches that came to light.
However, they were some who believed the Allen group used the Thales to get greatness.
Like the nurses at the hospital and a reasonable fellow on the internet.
The only part Dominic couldn’t agree with the internet fellow was that he and Brielle’s marriage was set-up by the Allen’s family.
He married Brielle out of love, not coax, contract or manipulation, but it was used against him.
A tired sigh left his lips and he fell on the laptop he had been reading it’s screen. “Very tiring.”
Suzy in the same room with him, looked up. “Do you need help, Young master?”
Dominic smiled. She always asked, and added the 'young master'. It felt refreshing to him since she was the only one who called him that.
Her mother added sarcasm and a condescending tone while calling him ‘young master’ and Jamie usually used ‘sir’.
“No, thank you, Suzy.”
The door to the apartment opened and Dominic frowned, annoyed that Selene was back from the grocery store to begin tormenting his life again.
“In three days, I’d like you to regain the 15% of my wealth. My company will restart and I’d leave a week later.” He enumerated.
“Hmm, that’s a solid.” It was Jamie that spoke. “At least now, Lucas has a place to stay.”
Dominic turned to him with a smile. “So it’s you, when will Lucas be…”
A preteen boy locked eyes with him and they both tilted their head simultaneously. “Lucas?”
“Uncle Domi?”
Suzy stood from her mat. “Young Master Lucas, youngest Thales member, what’re you doing here?” She always spoke like she knew all the history of the Thales.
Dominic quickly embraced his little cousin who looked very confused and quite scared.
“Weren’t you dead? Or was it sleeping? Coma, right?” Lucas kept on asking.
Tears threatened to escape Dominic’s eyes. He had finally reunited with a family member, his emotional health would suffer less damage.
His heart warmed when Lucas wrapped his arms around him and muttered, “You woke up.” finally realizing that he was really awake.
Suzy folded her hands, not sure how to react in front of an emotional scene. “Whatever.”
“Whatever, indeed.” Her mother, Selene, agreed, walking into the room with groceries. “I’m glad you planned things and now have motivation.”
Dominic let go of Lucas and rubbed his cheeks. “At least the Thales family has two survivals to fight for them.”
“Don’t write off your boys yet. I heard they ran away from their mother again. It’s like they know they shouldn’t be with the Allens.” Selene said.
Dominic gasped. Ran away? “They are the ones who run away from the Allens all the time?”
“Apart from Jake, a result of prostitution from the late Bianca Allen, which other grandchild do the Allens have?” Selene cocked an eyebrow.
Dominic flinched. She knew that much about Jake? It was a secret in the Allen’s family to protect Jake’s image.
Suzy smirked. “Your children are the only legitimate grandchildren of the Allens and that’s they want them there forever.”
Dominic didn’t like how she sounded, Jake was a legitimate grandchild too. But he brushed it off.
“My kids can stay with the Allens till my company is up and striving.” He replied.
“Why will you take them? Where’s Aunty Brielle?” Lucas asked, even more confused.
Dominic rubbed his head. “Don’t worry, she’s okay. I just need to have the company working again. You’d help, right?”
The boy smiled and firmly nodded. “I’ve been saving for it. It’s not much but it’s something.”
Selene sighed in disappointment. “We don’t need hundred dollars in millionaires' fight, boy. I’d release the assets tomorrow. Start working.”
The least she could do was throw Lucas some encouragement. Dominic shook his head and took Lucas with him.
“When it’s released, Lucas’ ownership will be transferred to you, with keys to your company. I’m afraid your mansion is gone forever.”
Both Lucas and Dominic froze. The Thales Mansion was gone, forever. The place they both grew up in.
“It’s fine. Uncle Domi will build another for me and his son soon.” Lucas proclaimed proudly.
It made Selene smile. “I love the confidence you have in him, young man. Spank him of he slacks, okay?” she sauntered to her kitchen.
Dominic gave Lucas a small hug before leaving with him. Things would move quickly now.

It was quite scary how the courts in the country feared Attorney Selene, Case Closed.
It wasn’t up to twenty hours that Thales assets were released aftee she made the call. And those who tried to attack Dominic as he was awoken, didn’t dare as Attorney Selene backed him up.
Dominic walked through the Thales company. Many cars and buses from their transportation services were parked inside.
Their newest children cloth line had numerous products that never made it into the market.
And the main Thales expertise, creation of tech gadgets, had products that weren’t distributed.
“I need workers.” He said to himself. Sourcing out for workers will he hard as he had enemies but he’d have to take a chance.
He’d need to sell the last products he had to finance the next ones he’d create.
And for the mean time, the transportation services and cloth line will be most functional.
The tech gadgets creation took more time and were most expensive. He’d need alliances for it, as well as lots of money.
He looked up and exhaled. “This is it. My first step to attaining everything again.”
Some footsteps were behind him, he turned and smile. “Any other good news? Or bad news?”
His butler, Jamie, shook his head. “No news. Except the fact Thales group has been trending for the past twelve hours.”
Dominic beamed, he hadn’t expected the news of his awakening causing such a stir.
“Isn’t that good? It wouldn’t be hard to generate sales with such a buzz.” Dominic said hopefully.
Jamie shrugged. “It depends if you’re trending because the public is happy you’re awake or just surprised by it. You still have enemies.”
Truly, and the Allen group also had a fashion line. They’d be a competition for his new cloth line even if it was only for children.
Dominic smirked. “I’d take on anyone. Most specially the Allen group. That’s what I’m back for.” His phone began to ring.
He stepped away from Jamie and answered it. That would be his first call since he awoke.
As he updated his company’s information, he dropped his phone number but didn’t think he’d be called immediately. Was it a business deal?
“Sup!! I can’t believe anything!! I can’t believe it!! I tried messaging you for years!! I was trapped in Africa for long!! You were in coma?! How!!!”
Dominic’s lips widened to a smile and suddenly he laughed, tears threatening to leave his eyes. “Silas?? Is that you? Wait, you didn’t know?”
“Yes!! I tried calling Brielle but she changed her line!! That bitch!! I’m just getting news now!! You’re freaking trending!!” he kept on yelling.
Dominic sighed, it was really good to hear his best friend’s voice. “I know, it’s stunning.”
Everything was falling in place. “Also, I want your ass here now! You’re an engineer and I really need some business ideas.”
“What do you mean?! My ass is already on the way home!!” Silas laughed. “We’d meet by three tomorrow. Can’t wait.”
Dominic grinned broadly. He couldn’t wait too.
Chapter Seven – Embarrassed Rekindling old friendships, fine. But rekindling old business connections, no. Dominic kept on swiping left to all the business owners his grandfather had worked with. Many of them had jumped on the Thales slander and fueled it, many also worked with the Allen’s company while knowing they betrayed him. “No second chance for scums.” That’d be his new motto. He sat back and glanced at his watch. It was almost 3pm. He’d have to pick up Suzy and Lucas at school. Selene was busy handling his company’s cases so the least he could do was pick Suzy up too. Dominic gulped down fruit juice on his desk and then left the table. “I should pick them up now.” Walking through the hall, he remembered when the place bustled with workers and machineries. The machineries remained but none to manage them. They were like vegetables, as he had been months ago. “Don’t worry, you'd run soon.” The car he rode to Suzy and Lucas’ school was one of Jamie’s he bought from him,
Chapter Eight – KidnappedThe environment was pitch black and low police sirens could be heard. Dominic slowly moved his head but a sharp ache made him put it down. Where was he taken to? He remembered the accident and then being taken out from the car.The men in black suits left Lucas in the car and it worried him because he didn’t know what injury Lucas had sustained. Light pierced into his eyes, interrupting his thoughts. “Oh, you’re awake now?” a familiar voice said, followed by a snicker. Dominic tried to work his brain to identify the voice. He couldn’t see the person’s face clearly. “I almost had PTSD when I heard you awoke. You are supposed to be dead, how did you live?” the man sighed. He was supposed to be dead? It made Dominic wonder if the accident that happened was more fatal than he thought. “Where’s Lucas? If you want just me, then leave him alone.” “He’s still a Thales, you know. But yes, I’m not interested in killing him. Don’t worry.” The man replied. Kill
Chapter Nine – At the ward. Again? “What do you mean?” Damien wasn’t stunned Allen family wanted him dead, he’d be hurt to know but at the point, he had given up. But what did ‘again’ mean? “Your accident four years ago. Didn’t you realize they were involved with it? My father precisely. My sister knew nothing.” Bethel explained. Dominic’s heart pounded heavily in his chest. Four years ago, he almost died but luckily or unluckily fell into coma. Sir Allen did that? “Of course, you don’t need to know the reason why…” “I can guess.” Damien interrupted, darkness filling his eyes. “He only wanted Brielle to marry me for my wealth. It planned a long time ago.” Bethel watched him intently as his voice lowered, he looked away. “It’s an inner strife by my father and your grandfather decades back.” Dominic’s head rose. “A decade long strife?” Why'd he never heard of it? Did his grandfather know the Allen family before he married Brielle? “Yet, that’s what led to the unnecessary
Chapter Ten – I’d pay “To give an advice or two.” Sir Allen replied with a calm demeanor, still sporting his fake smile. Advice? Dominic stared, hopelessly, at the man. He wanted to smash his head to a wall but that’d cause a messy scene. But he didn’t want to care. The man caused his life to be such a mess yet he came with an advice? Why were the Allen’s so fearless in taking him on. He knew Sir Allen was only there to threaten but after coming from his son’s place, Dominic was fed up with any Allen telling him what to do. “Get out while I’m still sane! I’d likely not repeat myself again.” He showed him the man the door. Sir Allen shook his head. “This will help you, you know. After four years and returning to the business world, you’d need some…” The man’s neck was dragged and his smile fell. His face was closer to Dominic’s. “Allen, you took my wife from me and then my sons, unless when I want to finish you, I don’t want you showing up in front of me!” Sir Allen
Chapter Eleven – Jean In front of a clinic, a red Lamborghini had been parked for twenty minutes before a man stepped out of the driver’s seat. The security guards that had been watching the car were stunned when an elegant looking man stepped out of the car. The man walked briskly to the other side of the passenger’s seat and opened the car door. A blonde girl jumped out of the car and ran to the entrance, she stood and gaped. “Awww! This is the clinic, isn’t it?!” The security guards gawked at her beauty with subtlety. The man sighed and walked to her, folding his arms around hers. “Mother is in, let’s go.” he pulled her along, ignoring the gawking of the security guards. As they walked into the clinic, the receptionist ran to them with smiles. “Sir Casimir, Miss Jean! Good morning. Hope you had a nice flight?” Jean grinned widely. “We sure did! There was this old lady who got mad at me for talking in the first class…” “We did. Thank you.” Casimir interrupted his lit
Chapter Twelve – Jones.“What are you doing here?” Dominic stared down at the two human forms before him. He was just about drowning himself in coffee and documentations when he heard the scream. “And why are you looking for Brielle here?” Jean made a small run towards him. “Hi, I’m Miss Jean from the Timely...” “I heard.” Dominic interrupted. “You didn’t answer me.” Jean stepped back. “Um, well…” “I’m Casimir Jones, CEO of Timely Gadgets. We came to offer condolences for the death of your grandmother.” Casimir said, coming forward. Dominic’s eyes darkened on him. Jones? The name sounded familiar, and not really in his good book. “Thank you for the thoughts.” He was sure there was no enterprise called Timely Gadgets that his grandfather collaborated with. He had recently checked the log books. “Anything else you need from me?” he asked, taking a step back to show he needed to leave. “Where’s Lucas? I haven’t seen him.” Jean said suddenly. Dominic frowned at her. What
Chapter Thirteen – Everett. Augustus Arthur. Definitely a powerful name belonging to a powerful man. Seeing the name alone made Dominic shake. “What’s the deal with him?” Dominic forced a smile to ease his discomfort. He kept scrolling but the name stayed on his mind. When done with the files of the day, he closed the building. He was heading for a meeting he looked forward to all day – meeting of the Dons. “This will be so exhilarating.” He said under his breath. “Another chance to trend!” The awoken Young Master gracing his presence at the exclusive party of young CEOs. Before his accident, he never took the meeting serious because it was just a glorified evening party yet he attended always. Showing his face at the party again will surely cause an interesting buzz, after all, he was still a young CEO just not as successful. He got in his car, drank bottle of water before starting the car. He’d be going for a two hours drive to make it, but he’d not miss it.
Chapter Fourteen – Ex-wife A tall red-haired lady, with pursed lips and curious eyes stood, hands on waist, behind him. She was a fashion model that took the world by storm four years back. It seemed she reached greater heights to be dining with young CEOs. “You aren’t a regular here. Don’t think anyone can just waltz in…” “Now, that’s just rude. You wouldn’t even ask my name since your eyes don’t seem to work.” Dominic sighed disappointedly. He had regained some of his features so was definitely easier to recognize, except she wasn’t big on the Thales family. Which would be unreal. Miss Avarez clenched her fists. “Who are you speaking to like that? Excuse me?” she called for a guard. Dominic expression became serious. Was this lady about to cause a scene? He grabbed her arm and pulled her to his face. The guard noticed the act and rushed to him. “Miss Avarez, I’m not used to not being known. It’s never been said anywhere that the Thales heir wasn’t identified.” His
