I opened my eyes, I wasn't cold from what it seems, oddly enough I felt warmth in the fall where the whole group were freezing their asses off. My vision was setting in and my eyes widened, I wasn't at the campsite. Where was I?
I was in a bedroom, moving the covers off of me. I scanned the place and tried to reach for my blade. I patted my side again. I didn't have my blades. "God dammit… who stole my shit…" I spoke in an angry tone.
I looked around, I tried to get a closer look but it was dark in the room. I went over to the mirror and what I saw shocked me; I looked younger than before.
I touched my cheek, I tried to figure out if this was real or not. I felt it, but how? I turned around and went over to my clock. It was 10:34 PM. This couldn't be…
Suddenly I heard an explosion, the orange flash shone through my room. I looked towards my window and saw that something exploded.
The door swung open, I flinched and turned around; I tried to grab for my blades again but I remembered that they were gone now, I guess that's now a habit. My eyes were now used to the dark and my eyes widened. "Cody, son… we have to go!" My dad spoke.
Tears formed in my eyes, why is this happening? Was it all a dream? Did I not have blades? "What's going on dad?" I went over to him. "The neighbours… they're crazy…" he picked me up.
I saw my mom run from room to room, she was gathering everything we needed; or so we thought we needed.
"I'm scared!" Aya spoke, she was hugging our dog; who's a golden retriever. Dad went over to Aya and lowered me over. "We will gather supplies. You two stay here!" He ran off.
Aya looked over at me and hugged me, I froze. Wasn't she dead? I hugged her back tightly. Vincent barked, he was getting into a protective stance, he began to growl aggressively.
Aya began to cry even louder, soon crashing was heard from downstairs. It sounded like the front door was breaking. Yes we had the doors that mostly had glass at the front.
My dad and mom came running over after hearing glass shattering. Dad had his gun out. "They've broken in." Dad spoke. Growling from downstairs was heard.
"I'm scared. Dad, are we going to be okay?" Aya looked over at our dad, and he nodded. "We will be okay sweetie." My dad went over to the stairs. "FREEZE!" He aimed his gun, flicking the safety off.
One of them turned towards him and growled, all of them began to stumble towards him. There were at least 5 of them. "I SAID BACK OFF!" My dad fired his gun, the bullet entered where one of their hearts was located. They stumbled back and continued to growl. "What the hell…" my dad muttered as they began to walk up the steps, though they were struggling.
"THE HEAD!" I yelled and my dad looked at me. "WHAT?" He aimed his gun again. "SHOOT THEM IN THE HEAD!" I yelled even louder. He probably couldn't hear that well because of the sounds of gunshots.
My dad listened and aimed it at the guy's head, firing. It fell down the stairs, the biter rolled and slid against the floor; but the sliding stopped due to the group of biters.
My dad stormed over to me. "How did you know how to kill it?" My eyes widened, even though I didn't find out till my first biter kill.
"J-Just a guess." I lied and stood up. "Come Aya, we need to get out of here." I grabbed her hand, Aya looked up at me with a frightened look on her face. "I'll protect you… I promise." I smiled. Aya stood up and nodded. "Okay…"
As my dad was shooting the other biters, the sound of glass breaking returned. Were there more of them?
My mom ran over. "We're escaping through the window, come on." She grabbed both of our hands as my dad reloaded.
He backed up on the stairs and tripped, he fell down towards the biters. My eyes widened, knowing this was a dream, I could do something about it now.
I began to think hard, running towards the stairs. A pistol popped right in my hands. "Lucid dream?" I whispered in confusion and aimed it at the biters. I fired the gun. Killing the remaining ones in the house. My dad turned to me, his eyes widened.
"Where did you get that gun?" My dad ran back up the stairs. "No time to explain." That was the only thing I could really say, what else was there? That it poofed into my hands?
We went over to the window, seeing my mom and Aya stare in shock. My dad helped me out and I looked around. Biters filled the streets, our neighbourhood was their god damn feast.
"Okay uhhh. Where do we go?" My dad looked around. "Our car duh." My mom sighed as Vincent ran out the front door. "Shit!" I muttered and slid down towards the edge of the roof. "CODY WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! GET BACK HERE!" My dad protectively yelled.
"I gotta save Vincent!" He began to think. "Let's see if this would work…" I muttered as I closed my eyes. I heard gasps from behind me, I took that as a yes as I opened my eyes.
I felt around my head. "It worked." I snickered. "I'm now a demi." I hopped down but soon everything stopped. I was frozen as I heard echoes.
I opened my eyes to see Dak shaking me. "Wake up. It's your turn." Dak spoke.
I looked around. "Oh, alright. Have a nice nap." I sat up and stared at the campfire, the others weren't back yet.
Stalker, Andrew, Emmy, Aria, Ash and Evelyn were closing in on the campsite. "We're getting close." Stalker sounded relieved that they were returning.
I heard running in the forest, so I stood up. "Wake up!" I shook Dak, he groaned. "What?" Dak grumbled.
"Someone's heading towards us." I aimed my gun in the direction of the running, Dak aimed his bow, an arrow in lock.
A girl appeared, collapsing to the ground. "Are you okay?" Dak ran over. She tried to explain what was happening but she was out of breath and panicking.
A biter came into view. "DAK!" I yelled, which began waking everyone up. Dak turned around. "Oh shit…" the biter inched itself closer to Dak's neck.
And here we have it, a biter in campgrounds. What a horrible sight. The biter inches away from Dak's face.My eyes widened, was I just about to lose a new friend of mine? Numerous thoughts ran through my little mind. Yes, don't mind me roasting myself.Everything felt like it was in slow motion. The biters drool dripping down slowly. Dak's expression slowly widening.A bullet zoomed past my face and hit the biter in the shoulder. That caused the biter to stumble back. Dak fired his bow, the arrow entering the biter's left eye. The biter fell face first onto a rock, the impact caused the arrow to sink deeper. The black gooey blood seeping out, covering the arrow.I turned around and saw Stalker, who had his AK-47 aim
He was alive?! But how? Many thoughts were racing back and forth in my mind. I remember shoving him into a group of biters during the school attack, I didn't tell Rose this either. She has no clue that I tried to kill him because he killed Mira.Emmy looked over at Rose and I. She was curious. "Who is Hayden?" I looked at her. "An old friend of ours… or was…" I looked back at Rose. "You have a lot of explaining to do, the both of you." Stalker went over and rested a hand on my shoulder. "It looks like you have enemies of your own now, welcome to the club." He grumbled and went over to Alice. "Hey, are you good?" He kneeled down.Alice turned around and nodded. "Yeah, is dad okay?" She hugged him tightly. "Yeah, Andrew is fine." He smiled, Andr
Mr. Peterson stared at the person, their eyes were milky white. The neck of the intruder was torn. It snarled and banged on the door aggressively.Panic filled the classroom, tears filled Rose's eyes; she immediately turned her head towards me and hugged me as tight as she could. I looked at her, then at Aya. She also had the same reaction as Rose. "Aya, come here." I spoke. She hugged me. "I'm scared." Aya cried out."I know." I was panicking as well, but if I panic… that would make Rose and Aya panic even more and I can't have that happen, especially since we are under lockdown because of those things.I looked at the rest of the class. Brick and Bruce were huddled close to Mr. Peterson. "It's okay kids, they will be gone soon." He tried his best to reassure us.
They got in, the monsters. They got in, this wasn't good. Nor was the fact that Aryton and Bruce are both injured by them. Did we even stand a chance. I shouldn't even be thinking like this, but do we?I kept close watch on Aya and Rose as the group of monsters limped closer and closer within each passing second.Blood dribbled down a couple of their mouths, meaning they had their recent meal. Likely Aryton and Azima. Aryton stood up, wincing in pain. He looked at me. "You ready?" He picked up a chair.I looked at him. "Yeah, I guess so." I was lying, who would be ready for this? I mean, we're fighting against these people eating things. They reminded me of something from a movie I saw with my parents. Aya got scared when we were watching it. What was it called?Mr. Pete
I looked back at the metal doors, they were shaking due to the zombies banging on the door aggressively, overwhelming the banging of the older ones. I was thinking how the newer ones were faster and the older ones were slower. I knew they were zombies. My eyes widened and I looked back at Aryton, Scowl and Bandy were looking at his wounds. "Who poorly bandaged this?" Bandy asked, looking at us. Mr. Peterson chuckled nervously. "My bad."Can people who were bitten really turn into one of them? They were yoga mats set on the floor, the capacity of the wounded were full. Groaning echoed throughout the cafeteria. "I need to call my mom." A girl whimpered, her clothes were covered in blood. A boy sat next to her, trying to comfort her in the best way possible. "We're going to be okay." He sighed.I frowned and looked bac
Was this the end for Mr. Peterson? Was it the end of the world in general? Why did a student bring a gun in the first place? Those were the thoughts overflowing in his head right now.The bullet zoomed towards Mr. Peterson, it seemed like it was slow motion for him. Did time slow down? He doesn't know what's happening at this point, first the dead came back and now a student had a gun and fired it at him.The bullet inched closer till a shadow overlapped his vision by a bit, Rose was in the way. She closed her eyes, knowing she would get shot but another person ran in the way.Rose stared at the person in shock, he backed up into her, Rose caught him slightly, she was only 11. She can't fully catch another person. "Bruce! You idiot!" Mr. Peterson yelled as he ran towards the student, tackling him to the ground.
I looked around the dimly lit hallway, most lockers had blood on them. Mostly they were blood splatters. I shined my flashlight towards the lockers, there were two bodies. A boy and a girl, they were about my age. They were torn apart, their face was left unharmed. But their stomach was ripped open, causing the hallway to stink up."I really hate this." Aryton mumbled, clenching his knife tightly. "None of us do. But we gotta find Mira." I mentioned it and began to walk. We heard screaming up upstairs mixed with the growling of zombies. I closed my eyes, I didn't want to hear them scream in pain as they were torn apart by them.Rose looked at me, she was tearing up. I looked at her and frowned. This was truly scary for all of us. Brick clenched his knife tighter, it felt like his hand was bleeding and that made sense. Hayden hid in a bathroom stall, hearing Lennie's gun firing, there was a longer pause. Around 2ish minutes, then another gunshot went off. Did he end it? Hayden was left in a dimly lit bathroom, there was a window which explains why he saw light shining through the outside of the stall he was in.Hayden left the stall and got on his tippy toes, he looked out of the window and his eyes widened. The city was going to hell, a plane came crashing down towards a skyscraper, the skyscraper had a huge hole in it now.A person ran in the field, Hayden looked around and saw a group of newer zombies running towards him. The guy tripped as the zombies closed in and began tearing him into pieces, two grabbed his legs and two grabbed his arms, it was as if they were playing tug a war with his body, his limbs tore as he screamed in pain, blood splattered on the zombies faces and they kneeled and started to feast on his corpse.Hayden hearZ02014 Burial Ground
