Chapter 17

Inside the Pierson residence. A woman was playing with her finger on her chin. She walked back and forth restlessly, waiting for someone to come.

"Why isn't he coming back soon?" Diana looked toward the window. There, she saw only a few people on guard duty, but she didn't see her brother returning soon.

Diana was very anxious thinking about Jimmy. Earlier, her brother had left and said he would go fishing for the Houghton family's son, who disappeared after ten years. But he didn't come back after almost a whole day. She didn't even get any news about Jimmy.

"Did he fail to get him?" Diana bit two of her fingertips. "That's impossible." Diana quickly dismissed her bad thoughts.

A boy came in. He was named Jackson, looking up at his mother. "Are you worried about uncle?"

Diana turned her head, looked at Jackson, and nodded with a worried face. "Yes, your uncle hasn't come back since a while ago. You know that he went to kill that person." Diana couldn't control her anxiety.
