A Horror Vies

As I flipped through the pages, on the first few pages I found prices and lists of items. "What in the world is AC and DC? Is this some sort of coded language?" I squinted.

"Zaria!" He facepalmed. "AC stands for Alternating Current and DC stands for Direct Current. Don't ask me to explain it now, we don't have time." He hardly contained his laughter.

He inquired, "Don't you know how to read?"

"If I didn't know how to read, how could I read the exact same letters?" I replied with a smirk.

We maintained eye contact for a few minutes before I finally spoke up, "Listen, my father taught me how to read, but how was I supposed to know the meaning of AC and DC?"

Jim dismissed it, saying, "It's probably just a list of appliances, just leave it!"

So I threw the diary in frustration, but as soon as it hit the ground, my gaze fell upon the page that had flipped open.
