Wearing a jacket with a hoodie, faded gray shirt, and pants, Oliver went to a restaurant located in the rural area.

Oliver went inside and entered a place for the VIPs.

There, Ryan was sitting on the chair, waiting for him.

“Ryan,” Oliver called, acknowledging his presence. “I’m sorry for making you go here. I know it must be a burden to you.”

“No need to apologize. This is even a small thing compared to what you did for me in the past,” Ryan answered, smiling.

He added, “And I understand your situation. You don’t want to be seen in the town right now.”

Oliver nodded, but that wasn’t the only reason why he didn’t want to make this meeting go public.

He didn’t want to be seen for Ryan’s safety. Once Zayne had a radar that Oliver has a connection with Ryan as well, things might get complicated.

The best choice is to lie low for now.

After ordering some snacks and beverages, which would only be enough for their brief meeting, Oliver asked, “How’s Williams Corporation now?”

Meanwhile, Zayne was in his mansion in the town.He grew up in this place, and only worked at the Capital to be richer. Zayne didn’t sell his land as he planned to live here on his retirement.“Baby,” a naked woman he just had sex with called beside him. “Are you sure you don’t want me in the capital?”Her hands seductively caressed Zayne’s abs, asking for more.“I can make you happier, you know—”“Out,” Zayne suddenly said, interrupting her words.“H-Huh?” the woman asked, blinking her eyes twice in shock. “Why are you telling me to leave? We just finished making love…”Zayne couldn’t help but chuckle and shake his head. “Making love? This is just pure sex. Dumb as fuck.”The woman gasped, looking at Zayne in disbelief. “H-How dare you speak to me that harshly?”“You know our agreement, right? We’re fuck buddies, yet you’re crossing the line,” Zayne answered, giving the woman a deadly glare. “Leave while I’m still being nice.”“Bastard!” she shouted, taking her clothes from the couc

Over time, Due to Trisha’s statement, his boss’ help, and the other people’s positive feedback about him, Zayne’s popularity increased. Not only in the town but also in the Capital.“Did you hear? Zayne donated $100,000 to the charity for the orphaned children!”“Really? But he also had just given money to cancer patients the other day.”“And he had infiltrated an enemy hideout with his team last week. Wow, is he a saint? How could Zayne do everything all at once?”Zayne was the popular talk of the town for a while now—and Oliver was experiencing the same thing. However, it was the complete opposite.Every time people see him walking on the street, he receives deadly glares and harsh criticisms.“Tsk! He shouldn’t have been released in jail! What if he kidnaps Trisha again?”“Right! She isn’t even recovering from her trauma yet. Is the police here not working that hard? Why couldn’t they find enough evidence to put him in bars?”“Poor Trisha… All she did was love him, yet this is wha

Seeing me before you die…” Oliver smirked and pulled the knife, making the blood spurt. The man stumbled to the floor, lifeless.“Shit. After talking for a few hours, Oliver and Ray already had their plans and formulated steps to execute them.“Dealing with Zayne would not be a piece of cake. It could put you in danger as well. Remember that,” Oliver reminded, his tone low.Ray nodded. “I already knew that ever since what happened to us three years ago. If our enemy wasn't as strong as ours, we would have defeated them back then.”“Right,” Oliver agreed, although it was hard for him to accept it. “So our first step is to investigate further about the Safe Haven Defense, and find more of Zayne’s weaknesses.”“Consider it done,” Ray affirmed.Due to his role in the Legion V before, Ray was often assigned to tasks like investigating someone or infiltrating their base.“I can’t help but remember the past,” Ray muttered, the sadness evident in his tone. “We were executing missions pretty well back then, and you’re guiding us properly.”“It would have been nice if the other members were with us right now,” he added and heav

Trisha’s eyes widened upon hearing that question. She froze and looked away, trying to avoid Oliver’s gaze.“No, I don’t,” she denied.Oliver held her arm, his grip in the balance between authority and gentleness.“You can fool anyone but not me,” he said, his tone dangerously low. “You remember something, and that’s why you can’t even bring yourself out of the mansion.”Trisha gasped. As much as she wanted to deny, Oliver was right. It was a faint memory—something she wasn’t even sure whether it really happened or not.But her intuition says it did.“Asshole! You’re the reason why she’s being like this! How could you even blame an innocent man?!” Carolina exclaimed, referring to Zayne. “Just get out here, will you—”Before Carolina finished her sentence, Oliver pulled Trisha inside the Henverton mansion, and although it was locked, he easily opened it.“H-How…” Carolina muttered, the shock evident in her eyes. “Wait… Why did you go inside? While Oliver and Ray were drinking at the bar, Rebecca did the same thing on the countertop.“One margarita, please,” she said, raising her glass.“On it, Ma’am.” The bartender nodded. As the bartender created her drink, Rebecca sighed upon sipping her remaining beverage. It has been a while since she went to the bar last time with Oliver and Nate.“Oliver…” Rebecca said, her tone low. “I wonder how he is right now…”She knew about what happened to Trisha, and how Oliver was framed up to the crime. Rebecca trusts Oliver, so she believes that claim instead of Carolina’s statement that Oliver was the one who kidnapped Trisha.Strangely, Rebecca felt that the same thing happened to her, although she couldn’t remember anything related to that.“Here, Ma’am,” the bartender said, snapping Rebecca from her thoughts.“Thank you.” Rebecca smiled and took the wine glass from the bartender’s grasp.Rebecca drank it in a few gulps, followed by someone sitting beside her.“Take it easy. “Crap,” Seraphine uttered, her hands touching the bruises on her neck, feeling the fear she had at that time.Earlier, she lied to the higher-ups when they asked for her statement.Even though she saw the robbers’ faces, if they asked why she couldn’t remember them, it would blow up something she was trying to hide. The powder on the handkerchief—it was drugs. It was the mere reason she got dizzy after consuming it.Seraphine knew how many people were waiting for her to mess up, so she could throw her from the Capital Hall. This could be the greatest opportunity for those people to fire her from Capital Hall. And that’s the last thing Seraphine wanted to happen.“Wait…” Seraphine suddenly stopped in her tracks, realizing that she overlooked a major detail. “No one saw the CCTV footage?”At that time, she was certain that Oliver already left the storage area, and it meant that the member who helped him, whoever it was, left the Capital Hall as well.‘If that’s the case… could someone

I never meant to leave you."Hearing the sincerity in Oliver’s voice, her resolve faltered for a brief moment, but the anger quickly returned."You think saying that will make this right?" she spat. "You vanished, Oliver. For three years, we thought you were dead. Do you know what that did to us?"Oliver's jaw clenched. He had imagined this conversation countless times, but nothing prepared him for the pain in Seraphine’s eyes.He even overlooked the fact that Seraphine said the word ‘us’ instead of ‘me’."I didn’t choose to leave. I was set up," he admitted. "That mission… It was a trap. Someone wanted me dead. And when I woke up, I had no memory of who I was.”Oliver paused, and spoke again,
