"Watch out, Alex!" Celeste's voice pierced the evening air, laced with panic. I felt an intense heat lash against my back, a sensation so sudden and fierce that it momentarily stole my breath. The cacophony of an explosion echoed through the café, reverberating off the walls with a deafening roar.

In that instant, realization dawned on me—it was a firework. My gaze snapped towards the window, overlooking the bar nestled by the sea, where a group of revellers, their judgment clouded by alcohol, were carelessly setting off fireworks. One had gone awry, its trajectory sending it hurtling towards us. Celeste, her eyes wide with alarm, looked past me towards the unfolding chaos, her voice rising in a frantic attempt to warn me.
