“Since that incident, he just locked himself in his room and drank.” With a sigh, Freya led Randy and Luna to her husband’s room. “But I can’t blame him. He’s been through a lot.”

“We understand, Freya. Maybe he needs time.” Randy glanced at Luna, who was wearing a face mask and sunglasses. “If it wasn’t urgent, we wouldn’t have come here.”

“Well, I actually appreciate you guys coming here. Who knows, you two might make him come back to his senses.” Freya opened the door to a messy room.

They found Cody sitting in the corner of the room with an unshaven face. His right hand was holding a half-empty vodka. Meanwhile, other empty bottles were scattered around him.

“Damn, you like a hobo, Cody.” Randy grimaced, seeing his friend’s condition.

Cody took a sip of his drink. “I told you, I’ll save them, but I still need time.”
