Cody could only see pitch black. He tried to speak. “Is that you, Zeno?”

“Yeah.” Zeno giggled, but like before, that being was invisible. “Are you okay…. Well, that’s a stupid question. It’s clear you’re not okay.”

Despite the dream-like feeling, anger surged within Cody. “What do you want for me?”

“I just want to visit my potential opponent.” Zeno continued. “Your performance was amazing. The twins are strong candidates to fight me. But you defeated them, even though you were barely past level 10!”

“I don’t need your praise.” Cody snorted. “You said you didn’t choose your opponent’s candidate carelessly? Why did you choose cruel people like them?”
