Once they arrived at the farm, Cody told Helena and Gwen everything. At first they were shocked, then asked if Cody believed what Jane said.

“Of course not. I won’t be able to trust Jane completely.” In the dining room, Cody leaned his back against his chair. “But this is the best thing we can do right now.”

Helena gulped. “What if Jane doesn’t keep her promise and wants to kill us?”

“Hopefully that doesn’t happen.” Cody answered, then he fell silent, making the atmosphere in the place even heavier.

“You haven’t been able to think of the right way to defeat the mother, right?” Helena grimaced.

Cody smiled with a hint of sadness while shaking his head.
