70 – A Hypothesis

In the afternoon, Shawn was outside, gazing at an empty expanse of land dotted with snow. Cody approached him and handed him a cup of hot chocolate.

“Thanks.” Shawn smiled as he accepted the drink.

Cody sipped his drink, then studied Shawn’s face for a moment. “Is there any other accident in your colony? Not including occasional people becoming zombies, of course.”

Instead of answering, Shawn fell silent. His hand holding the cup was shaking and Cody noticed it.

However, Cody waited until Shawn wanted to talk.

“There was only one notable incident, and it had no connection to our leader. He no longer does anything excessive because our residents are afraid of him.” Shawn took a deep breath and the tremors in his hands disappeared. “There was someone who had an accident. She slipped and hit her head hard. She was conscious initially, but now she is in a coma.”

“So, she can still survive?”
