The explosion destroyed the cave where Azurks was cursed. Earlier, Azurks instinctively wrapped Zorka's body in a protective bubble spell, shielding the kid from the cave debris.
Meanwhile, Hogs, now conscious and being treated by Wellder, was shocked. The kids screamed in fear. A sudden earthquake hit the valley, accompanied by explosions, rocks, and soil scattering.
What was even more terrifying was the rumbling growl followed by the emergence of a blue crystal dragon wriggling out from the river and the shattered ground.
Azurks's shimmering scales glint under the sunlight. Zorka, floating within a magical bubble, looks amazed witnessing the valley destroyed by Azurks' emergence.
Meanwhile, Wellder and Hogs tremble, collapsing in fear. The kidnapped kids, terrified, faint.
"What creature is that?" shouts Wellder, hugging Hogs.
Hogs, wide-eyed, can't utter a word. His body shakes, and his teeth chatter from the fear felt by Wellder.
Roaaar.
Azurks roars.
"At last, I'm free!”
Zorka scanned the area around the river and saw the kids near the wooden cart, all passed out. Laughing, he watched two trembling men who had kidnapped them.
"Haha, seems like these two are just losers," Zorka said, heard by Azurks.
"Who do you mean by losers?" Azurks asked.
Zorka pointed at the two hugging men.
"Oh, turns out those two old guys were the ones I felt their energy earlier. One of them owns the snake that drained my energy. Hey, how did you deal with them? I sensed the snake's energy threatening your life when you were outside the cave."
"They're kidnappers. I'm also one of their victims. They were planning to sell us as slaves. I almost got killed by Venomcoil because they found out I had my own poison with me.”
A sly grin appeared on Azurks' face.
"Seems like my mighty presence scares humans. I like it.
But, I better change my form and make myself invisible to humans, except you, kid."
Hearing Azurks always calling him a kid annoyed Zorka.
"I have a name, don't call me kid, old dragon!" grumbled Zorka.
This made Azurks laugh. Zorka looked grumpy.
"So, what should I call you then? You haven't introduced yourself all this time."
"I'm Zorka Slavy. You can call me Zorka. Hey, will you keep your promise to be my beastmaster?"
Hearing that, Azurks nodded.
"Of course. Beastmasters don't break promises."
Azurks landed along with the bubble containing Zorka. When Zorka's feet touched the ground, the magic bubble disappeared.
"I need a drop of your blood. Drip it on the star in the magic formation to make a pact as your companion," instructed Azurks.
Zorka bit his finger until it bled to drop blood on Azurks' magic formation star. Meanwhile, from a distance, Wellder and Hogs were stunned watching a little kid and a giant dragon doing something.
"That kid... The one your pet was about to kill, right?" Wellder asked, his voice trembling.
Hogs just nodded. He couldn't answer yet, still in shock. In his mind, Hogs thought, "That kid isn't just any ordinary child. Earlier, he had a poison equivalent to Venomcoil's, and now he seems to be making a deal with the dragon. The most incredible beastmaster in beastmaster history. I usually get beaten up just trying to handle a level two beastmaster, but that kid effortlessly gets an unknown-level beastmaster."
Before the two old men realized, an energy explosion happened. Dazzling light accompanied by thunderous sounds emerged.
"What's this? Blinding!" Wellder shouted.
Meanwhile, Hogs clenched his teeth, trying to contain his mixed emotions. The energy pressure was so strong that Wellder and Hogs couldn't withstand the light exposure. Eventually, they both successfully passed out.
The light slowly faded. Zorka appeared, a tattoo symbolizing an agreement with an unlimited-level beastmaster on his hand. Azurks transformed into the size of a cat, using magic invisible to humans except for Zorka as his master.
Zorka approached the wooden cart. Everyone there lay unconscious.
"Hey, why is everyone out cold?" Zorka asked in amazement, seeing the kidnapped children and their captors sprawled on the ground.
Azurks rolled his eyes. "Well, that's normal. These kids seem to be too scared, so they fainted, while those two adults fainted due to the strong energy of the contract magic."
"So intense, huh." Zorka checked on the kidnapped children one by one.
"Ah, thankfully, these kids are okay. Hmmm, but what should I do with these two kidnappers?"
"Maybe you could finish them off. After all, both are criminals who kidnapped children," Azurks suggested.
Zorka pondered. One of his hands touched his chin.
"Seems like finishing them off is a good idea. But, I don't want it to be too easy for them to die before getting the punishment they deserve. Maybe paralyze them forever and hand them over to the kingdom for judgment, that seems fair.”
Azurks, the four-legged crystal dragon with bat-like wings, just raised its front leg while shrugging its shoulders.
"Whatever."
"Hey, Azurks. Can't you disable both of them by crushing their nerves?" Zorka asked his dragon beastmaster.
"That's easy for me. But, I want you to do it using magic," Azurks said.
Zorka looked annoyed; he couldn't believe he was being ordered by his own beastmaster.
"You're the contracted beastmaster with me. How can you order me to perform magic to paralyze them? You know I can't do magic."
Azurks, as an unruly unlimited-level beastmaster, felt irritated.
"Don't compare me to low-level beastmasters who can only be commanded by humans. Even though I agreed to a contract with you, it doesn't mean I submit to your orders. Besides, I only promised a contract to be your beastmaster, not obedience to your commands.
One thing you need to know. Actually, now you can use magic. When you placed your palm on my head while I was still petrified. At that moment, I fixed the flow of magic energy in your body and released it to dispel the curse that bound you. Try closing your eyes and feel the flow of magical energy in your body!"
It surprised Zorka. Upon hearing Azurks' words, Zorka immediately followed his instructions, closed his eyes, and concentrated on feeling the magical energy flow in his body.
He felt a warm flow from the core in his abdomen. Then, the flow streamed and spread throughout his body.
"Do you feel it?" Azurks asked, answered by Zorka's nod.
"Now, focus that energy, channel it towards one of your hands. Then, release that energy in the form of a magical ball!"
Zorka followed Azurks' instructions again. And... Boom, a bluish-white magical ball appeared.
"Wow, amazing!" Zorka's eyes sparkled as she gazed at the glowing round ball floating in her hand. Suddenly...Pop!The magic vanished without a trace, leaving Zorka startled. Azurks snorted, smoke puffing from his nostrils."Tsk, looks like you need practice to control your magic power.""See, I told you it's better if you do it. Punish them, make them helpless," Zorka said.Without a word, Azurks immediately flapped his wings. A wave of magic with a blue lightning-shaped fire element struck Hogs and Wellder directly.Bam!Thunder roared, shocking Hogs and Wellder as they got zapped by thousands of volts of lightning magic. The jolt messed up their nerves, making their bodies go limp."Alright, what are you gonna do with them now, Zorka?" Azurks asked."I'll take them to the nearest town or kingdom. Find some royal officers who deal with criminals like them. Then..." Zorka glanced at the unconscious kids."I'll take these kids back home. I'm sure their parents are freaking out and sa
After turning in the two criminals and the evidence, Zorka asked the kingdom's law enforcers if he could use his wooden cart and horses to take the kidnapped children back home. However, they said no because the cart and horses were considered evidence. Instead, they arranged for a law enforcement horse-drawn carriage, and an officer was assigned to accompany the kids.Learning this, Zorka initially decided not to go with them. He wanted to wander around and didn't want to return to Kayleigh's mansion yet, feeling it wasn't the right time to go back to his birthplace. But..."No way. You have to take us home. Didn't you say you'd take us to our houses?”"Yeah, your words were a promise, don't break it!""We'd actually be happy if you came along to take us. Boohoo."All the kids protested when they found out Zorka didn't keep his word in the savannah valley."Zorka looked confused by the situation. Azurks laughed seeing his master getting more puzzled."So, what's the deal? You better
Azurks slowly opened his eyes. He returned to his body when Zorka was no longer riding the kingdom's legal office carriage. He gazed at Zorka and muttered, "Truly sad. That human willingly let their child's soul be replaced in this frail body. What disgusts me is the behavior of this child's father. Saved by the child's mother during pregnancy. Actually, the original owner's child's soul had fairly strong magic energy even in the womb. When dark magic attacked, it was the power of this child's original body's soul that protected the father. So, when born, this child had no magic energy. Tsk. Humans can be so cruel even with a life debt.”Zorka, walking aimlessly after being dropped off at a crossroads in a rural village, felt Azurks perched on his shoulder."You're awake, I see. You slept soundly," telepathically remarked Zorka."I didn't sleep!" protested Azurks, refusing to accept it.Then, Azurks cleared his throat."Ahem, just now, I met Renata."Zorka's eyes widened in disbelief.
Zorka returned to his room after enjoying the hot spring. He changed into clothes the inn's servant bought for him. Time for dinner. But something felt off.He checked the room, "Oh, damn! My gold coin pouch is gone!" Zorka cursed loudly.Remembering when he went for a hot spring bath, he was sure he locked the door. Zorka grunted. Trying to telepathically connect with Azurks, he said, "Azurks, my gold coin pouch is missing. Seems someone entered my inn room. They might have a spare key. Can you find out who did it?"Azurks, busy gnawing on a thorned bison monster, nonchalantly replied, "There's a way. Well, you were careless. Humans can't be trusted, especially when it comes to gold.""Actually, I'm not sure you need my help, Zorka. You probably already have a hunch about who took your coins, right?" Azurks greedily devoured a piece of meat."Ah, turns out you can read my mind," Zorka chuckled."Of course, kiddo! Besides, this is something your soul can handle on its own. Why do you
The exit from the kitchen inn leads to a narrow alley. The end of the alley points towards the forest at the foot of Oakpeak mountains. Rico walks towards a path into the woods, and Zorka follows, occasionally hiding behind trees when Rico looks around cautiously."Where's he headed?" Zorka wonders, keeping an eye on Rico's suspicious actions.Rico stops briefly to check his surroundings, making sure he's not being followed. Rico uses a magical glass ball with fire inside to light up his way. Then, he continues walking into the forest. The short guy reached a place with big rocks piled up near a large oak tree. The bright light turned the dark and creepy forest into something quite calming. Zorka sneaked behind the wild bushes under the oaks, keeping a close eye.Rico checked his surroundings again, making sure no one was tailing him. Even though he sensed something, he couldn't figure out what or who was following him. Then, Rico's voice echoed, calling someone."Hey, Alex. Show your
Bam!Rico fell to the ground. He held his chest from the blow delivered by Alex.Seizing an opportunity, Alex was caught off guard by Zorka. Zorka attempted to create another electric energy ball, this time with more power than the first attack.Bang! Buzz!Zorka's powerful strike hit Alex's body. This time, Alex staggered. He felt the electric shock coursing through him. However, the attack hadn't incapacitated the kingdom official."Son of a bitch!" Alex yelled, not taking well to being countered by Zorka.Quickly rising from the ground, Zorka gathered his strength again. Alex resumed a barrage of attacks on Zorka. This time, Zorka evaded Alex's magical assaults by hopping around whenever the attacks were directed at him. Occasionally, Zorka retaliated, although his magical attacks could be intercepted by the kingdom official.Rico was stunned by the uneven fight between Alex and Zorka. Alex's attacks appeared more coordinated with a stable frequency of power compared to Zorka. As a
Rico took Alex to the hotel lobby. Meanwhile, Zorka asked Azurks for help to teleport his into her room. He had sneaked after Rico without telling anyone."Azurks, do you have any healing magic?" Zorka asked through telepathy while taking off her blood-stained clothes."That's easy for me! Just repeat what I say!" Azurks said, "Anáro̱se!"Zorka repeated Azurks' words. A bluish-white burst of light covered Zorka's body, slowly healing the wounds from Alex's attack. When it was done, Zorka threw his bloodied clothes into the fireplace and burned them to ashes. He put on another set of clothes that Rico had bought earlier.A knocking sound is heard from outside."Sorry, Zorka. Are you in there?" says someone behind Zorka's room door.Zorka opens his room door. A hotel staff member asks him to go to the lobby because Mr. Em, the receptionist, wants to meet him there. The server cleared the way for Zorka to follow him to the lobby. When they arrived, Mr. Em was giving Rico a piece of his m
Mansion Kayleigh, imprisoned in Renata's tower. Renata felt relieved knowing Zorka had met Azurks and made a contract with that legendary beastmaster."I want to meet Zorka with a different soul," Renata mumbled, gazing far through the tower window.Suddenly, the tower's seal magic vibrated. Renata stepped back from the window."Demista!" Renata shouted.Demista, located in Mansion Kayleigh, specifically in his office, stared sharply at the tower. A while ago, he felt the tower's seal magic energy vibrating, then breaking.Something had penetrated the tower. Demista thought it was Renata's doing."Stop playing games with me, Renata!"Hearing the anger in Demista's voice through telepathy, Renata chuckled."Why would I play games? There's no point in breaking into your tower because I'm already inside, and it's tough to get out.""Stop your jokes, Renata! It seems like after the death of your child, you've gone insane," mocked Demista.Instead of being offended, Renata laughed. Demista
