chapter 6 : survive

8:17, North Africa, Kingdom of Morocco, Tangier beach.

This part of the beach was filled with plane wreckage, various corpses of people and even zombies, but unlike the people that seemed to have died via the plane crash, the zombies seemed to have been killed by someone, because they all had their heads distorted in a horrific way, and some of them were even bruised. Parts of their brains come out of their ears, it looks as if their heads have been run over by a vehicle! .

“Agh! This damned headache started to get worse, even after about half an hour had passed since I woke up...”

Maxwell murmured with a painful expression on his face. He extended his hand, which was red, but not because he had turned into a zombie. Rather, it was red because it was covered in blood, and it was unknown whether this was his blood or not! .

He looked at the wreckage of the plane that was a little away from him and sighed

“I didn't expect that I would survive a plane crash, it seems like I was destined to live, even the damned zombies couldn't kill me...”

He took his phone out of his torn jacket and tried to turn it on, but to no avail

“It was broken due to water!! I can fix it if I find the appropriate equipment. If my conclusion is correct, then terrestrial communications have become broken due to the phenomenon of the end of the world, but communications via satellites are still in place. That’s why I have to fix this phone...”

In addition to his clothes being torn and his phone being broken, Maxwell had many scratches and varying injuries all over his body, but they did not affect him significantly.

He suddenly stopped in his tracks and looked at a group of three zombies that were surrounding a person. A deep frown formed on Maxwell's face. He clearly saw that the zombies could not reach the person even though they were surrounding him.

“This aura!! It’s that man, Omar...” Maxwell quickly ran towards the gathering of zombies. When he got closer, he saw clearly.

Omar was sitting on the ground and looking at the zombie, which was only less than half a meter away from Omar, yet she could not catch him or touch him. It seemed as if some kind of invisible shield or dome was protecting him from the zombies, but in return he was trapped there.

Unlike Maxwell, Omar was in good condition and except for the Osage there was not a single scratch on his body.

Omar had closed his eyes, seemingly accepting his fate and nervously waiting for the shield around him to disappear.

About 10 meters away from him, Maxwell smiled when he saw that Omar was alive

“So!, I’m not the only one who got a supernatural ability...”

He raised his hand towards the zombie and then seemed to grab the air.

" crush ... "

He said in a low voice, his words were like judgment descending upon the ignorant zombies, a mysterious force surrounded the zombies' heads and then began to form a great pressure.

Bam!!

Bam!!

Bam!!

In a flash, the three zombies' heads exploded like watermelons, their bodies falling to the ground motionless.

Maxwell approached Omar and looked with eyes full of curiosity at the surrounding dome-like transparent red shield surrounding Omar.

“Man, you have a nice ability here...”

“Hmm...”

Omar, who had accepted his fate, opened his eyes after hearing a familiar voice. His eyes widened when he saw Maxwell looking at him, smiling.

"Maxwell...." Omar shouted happily. He felt relieved after seeing that the three zombies who were threatening his life were dead. He tried to get up but ended up hitting his head with the energy shield.

“Ugh...”

“Man, did you get so scared that you became stupid or what!?” Maxwell sighed, looking at the atmosphere that was turning dark, meaning that night was approaching, and said.

“Cancel your ability, let's leave here before nightfall...”

“How can I do this!?” Omar asked shyly

Maxwell put his hand on his forehead and said indignantly

“Seriously, how do I know it’s your damned ability and not mine...”

He sighed and added after a little thought

“Try thinking about withdrawing or canceling the shield...”

Omar nodded, closed his eyes and did as Maxwell asked him to do. After a short while, the shield disappeared.

“Well done, now let's leave the place...”

Maxwell extended his hand and helped Omar get up.

“Thank you, man. I owe you. Do you know where we are? Also, are you and I the only ones who survived the plane crash?!” Omar asked while patting his clothes to get rid of the beach sand.

Maxwell shrugged, “Most likely, I didn't find anyone alive inside the plane wreckage other than zombies, and as for where we are, if I'm not mistaken and I'm probably not...”

Maxwell pointed behind Omar and continued speaking

“We are in the Kingdom of Morocco...”

When Omar looked at where Maxwell was pointing, he found that he was pointing to the flag of a country, or rather the Kingdom of Morocco, which was all red and in the middle there was a green star.

Maxwell ignored Omar, who was looking around, and began to walk towards one of the buildings where he intended to spend the night and also find some food and some painkillers, because he was feeling hungry and had a headache since he woke up. Not only that, but he could also feel... It is mysterious that there is a mysterious energy entering his body.

“If my conclusion is correct, I think this mysterious energy has something to do with that meteorite that fell to Earth. It also seems that this mysterious energy affected all humans, some of them turned into zombie-like creatures and some...”

He looked at Omar who was looking at his palm with a curious and excited expression, he was naturally looking at the transparent energy shield.

“Some people have gained superhuman abilities. I have also gained superhuman abilities, and unlike Omar, who can create an energy shield. I have mental control. I can also sense presence within a range of approximately 100 meters...”

“Hey Omar! Tell me, how did you get this ability?!”

“When I entered the plane’s toilet, I felt a headache and pain in my head. I don’t know what was happening to me at that moment. I was just focusing on trying to find a way not to die... but then I entered with information....”

“Wait, I remember now, I completely forgot about it because of the danger I was facing...”

Maxwell raised his eyebrows questioningly

“What did you remember!?”

“I remember that a wave of information appeared inside my mind out of thin air, the information was about my ability, for some reason I can't remember that information clearly, but I remember that my ability allows me to form a bubble made of energy...”

“A bubble of energy!? Hmm...” Maxwell murmured with narrowed eyes.

“If my hypothesis is correct, then his ability is more than a defensive ability!!”

Maxwell stopped thinking about it and looked with narrowed eyes to the right side

“There are two people alive...”

He said suddenly, causing Omar to stop and look at where he was looking.

“Live people!! How do you know this? Is it your ability?” Omar wondered

Maxwell nodded and added

“Let's go and take a look...”

Omar did not object to this decision. The two walked quickly towards the place. When they arrived, they found a middle-aged man and a young man in his early twenties. They were both lying on the ground. Naturally, the duo was the father, Varane, and the son, Rafael.

“There are no signs of them turning into zombies...” Maxwell commented as he examined them with his eyes from afar. He raised his head and looked at the transport ship in the distance.

“I think they escaped from that ship and ended up like this...”

Omar nodded in agreement

“What do we do now!?” he asked with a frown

Maxwell shrugged and said

“Naturally, we won't leave them here, but my body is weak, I don't even have the strength to carry one of them...”

After a little thought, he looked at Omar and said

"Here's the plan. You wait here and protect the two with your ability so that they are not bitten by a walking zombie. I will go and find a suitable place for us to stay this night and then return with a vehicle to carry them...”

Omar frowned slightly, he hated the idea that he would be alone in the open air and exposed to danger, but after some thought he found that Maxwell would be in greater danger than him, he shook his head and agreed to the plan.
