006: Learning the "five elemental spacetime art"

As soon as the sect bell rang, everyone gathered in the hall, but the sect leader was still absent, so they were all waiting to hear what was going to be revealed.

The sect leader could be seen entering through the back entrance and onto the stage that was set up in front of everyone.

The sect leader paused, looking at everyone with a complicated expression on his face. "You all know what is happening around the sect, how the gravity of the sect suddenly rose up."

"We don't know what caused the abrupt increase in gravity, but we've been detecting the presence of powerful experts around the sect ever since the occurrence, and we advise everyone to take precautions by staying around the sect premises," the sect leader explained to everyone.

The sect leader gave some information before leaving the hall with a calm expression on his face.

Everyone left the stage as soon as the sect leader left, some heading to their respective homes and some going to the training room or library.

Lu Shang could be seen standing in one spot, deeply immersed in his thoughts.

"What happened? The sect is even taking precautions; I remember the sect leader mentioning something about the gravity rising in the sect premise. I think this has something to do with me when the necklace was merging into me, releasing its power. I also remember when the necklace was merging into me, the gravity around my room seized, and everything slowly stopped moving. I need to get stronger quickly before I'm found out by those powerful experts who are lurking in the shadows, monitoring the sect."

Lu Shang was lost in thought when a strong fist hit his head hard, bringing him back to reality.

"Hey, weakling, how are your bones doing?" a voice filled with mockery taunted Lu Shang. The speaker was Mo Shen.

Mo Shen and his friends stood a few centimeters away from Lu Shang.

"What's that got to do with you? Are you the owner of my body?" Lu Shang fired back at Mo Shen, staring into his eyes without fear.

Mo Shen was shocked beyond words, and he looked around to see if anybody was watching. Indeed, all eyes were fixed on the two of them.

Laughing loudly for everyone to hear, Mo Shen said, "Ho ho, look who's talking; you couldn't even withstand one of my punches earlier, and now you're pretending to be brave." He continued to mock Lu Shang.

Mo Shen was ashamed to meet anyone's gaze after the retort Lu Shang had thrown at him. That's why he was searching for words to use against Lu Shang.

"Lu Shang is showing courage; he even dared to speak back to Mo Shen."

"I admire this bold side of Lu Shang. Mo Shen is just a bully who preys on the weak."

"How did Lu Shang's cultivation jump from the 2nd stage to the 3rd stage of the Body Enhancer Realm?" a boy exclaimed in shock.

"Wow, Lu Shang is already at the early 3rd stage of the Body Enhancer Realm while Mo Shen is still in the middle of the 4th stage, making Mo Shen one rank lower than Lu Shang," many disciples of the sect discussed. While some supported Mo Shen despite his bullying, a few stood with Lu Shang.

Lu Shang was generally disliked because of his association with the Lu clan, which was once said to have a leader who fled from battle, earning them the ire of many sects.

"YOU'RE GOING TO PAY FOR THOSE WORDS!" Mo Shen angrily declared with bloodshot eyes.

If looks could kill, Lu Shang would have perished a hundred times over.

"I don't have time to waste on talkative people like you. If you're ready to settle things, come find me," Lu Shang scornfully said to Mo Shen.

Lu Shang began walking away from the spot, leaving both Mo Shen and the crowd stunned. Mo Shen quickly departed before anyone could notice.

After Lu Shang had walked a few meters, a familiar voice called his name, and he turned to see Lu Xun running toward him.

"Hey, junior brother, how are you doing?" Lu Xun asked immediately upon reaching him.

"I'm doing well. How about you?" Lu Shang replied.

"I'm fine as always. You've become quite bold, junior brother. The way you stood up to Mo Shen and ignored his taunts. Please be careful, though. Mo Shen might go to great lengths to make you suffer after what you did to him in front of everyone," Lu Xun warned, her concern evident.

"Don't worry about me, senior sister. I can take care of myself."

"What time is it, senior sister?"

"It's still early evening, just a couple of hours after your fight with Mo Shen. Please take care of yourself and don't venture outside the sect for now. I don't want to lose you," Lu Xun advised before bidding farewell and heading in the direction of the sect library.

Lu Shang decided to return home and start learning the martial art bestowed upon him by his senior elder guardian.

Somewhere else in the sect, a dark-haired boy sat among his friends, engaged in discussion.

"Damn, that brat has the nerve to say those words in front of everyone without considering the consequences. I'll make Lu Shang beg for mercy until death seems like a relief," Mo Shen swore, his anger evident.

"You need to calm down, Mo Shen," one of his friends, Chang Chen, advised, trying to soothe him.

"I disagree. Did you see the way everyone looked at Mo Shen when Lu Shang was speaking? It's shameful, don't you think?" Another friend, Sun Quan, added in a furious tone.

They continued to discuss but most of the times Mo Shen kept quiet as he thought of something.

"Yeah, I know what to do," Mo Shen said with a cunning smile after some thought. His friends looked at him expectantly, eager to hear his plan.

"What's the plan?" Sun Quan asked, intrigued.

Mo Shen stepped into the center of the group and whispered a plan to his two friends, ensuring that only they could hear it.

"That's a brilliant plan, Mo Shen. Just wait to see the pain in Lu Shang's eyes," Sun Quan said aloud, then burst into laughter.

"You're taking a significant risk, Mo Shen. What if you get caught by the sect's higher-ups? You know you'll be severely punished," Chang Chen warned, sipping his wine.

"I know I might get punished, but I won't get caught. That's why I planned to execute it during a battle with Lu Shang in the arena," Mo Shen replied with an evil grin.

"You're quite the strategist, Mo Shen. Nobody should provoke you and get away with it. I can't wait to see the agony on Lu Shang's face," Sun Quan chimed in, pouring himself another cup of wine.

Lu Shang sat cross-legged, engrossed in a book titled "Five Elemental Spacetime Art." This technique utilized spacetime as a foundation for controlling the five elements: earth, fire, water, metal, and lightning.

The "Five Elemental Spacetime Art" consisted of eight levels:

Levels 1–2: Learning and mastering the spacetime element movements to practice the five elements.

Level 3: Cultivating Earth's Spacetime.

Level 4: Cultivating Fire Spacetime.

Level 5: Cultivating Metal Spacetime.

Level 6: Cultivating Water Spacetime.

Level 7: Cultivating Lightning Spacetime.

Level 8: Integrating all elements into one.

Upon reading the requirements for mastering the "Five Elemental Spacetime Art," Lu Shang felt a surge of excitement. This martial art not only included offensive but also defensive techniques.

Furthermore, the Water Spacetime was incredibly useful for cleansing his body and healing injuries incurred during or after a fight.

Lu Shang decided to begin with Level 1, mastering the basics.

Quickly grasping the contents of Level 1, he proceeded to Level 2.

However, his eyebrows furrowed when he encountered the contents of Level 2.

"If Level 2 is difficult and challenging, how much harder will the other levels be? Without facing trials, I won't become strong." He clenched his hand in determination. His heart was fueled with the urge to become stronger.

Lu Shang continued reading and learning the contents of Level 2.

"When comprehending the elements of the techniques, you'll experience a cool and peculiar energy within your body. Don't force or halt this energy; instead, go with the flow. Forcing or blocking it could lead to failure, resulting in a lifetime inability to practice these skills. Be cautious when nearing the critical point of mastering the level; many fail at this juncture due to the energy's instability, causing it to react violently and halt the martial art's energy formation within your body forever," Lu Shang read from the book. His determination to learn the skills grew stronger as he finish reading the content.

"Time to comprehend"

Closing the book and storing it in his interspatial dimension necklace, Lu Shang closed his eyes and followed the steps outlined in the book to practice the techniques.

Several hours passed, and within Lu Shang's body, he could sense the cool and peculiar energy described in the book flowing through him. "Everything is going smoothly without any rising obstacle, this is good and can't wai.." He was elated but couldn't complete his statement when the energy suddenly showed signs of instability, causing a violent reaction within his body.

Lu Shang had a confused look on his face when he felt the instability in his body. His body was becoming hot.

"Is this how I'll fail? No!" Lu Shang shouted, unwilling to give up. The yellow light in his martial core started spinning rapidly sending energies to every part of his body. Lu Shang isn't someone that take failure as an option so he wasn't going to give room for failure.

The chaotic energy suddenly calmed and resumed its flow within Lu Shang's body. He began to relax, and the yellow light in his core connected with the flowing energy.

Shua! Shua! Shua!

A transparent white divine power manifested in Lu Shang's palm, surprising him.

"What is this transparent, white divine power? It wasn't mentioned in the 'Five Elemental Spacetime Art.' Why has it appeared now?" Lu Shang wondered aloud, both shocked and confused at the same time.
