THE TABLE TURNS
Luke sat behind the wheel of his car, driving his fiancée, Fiona, to their university. He couldn't help but feel a little nervous. After all, Fiona was one of the richest girls on campus, and she was his fiancée. He wanted to make a good impression on her and her friends.
As they pulled up to the university gates, Fiona's friends were already there, waiting for her. They were all dressed in designer clothes and expensive jewelry, laughing and chatting loudly. Fiona's smile faded when she saw Luke's old car, which was not as shiny and flashy as her friends' cars. "Luke, can't you drive a decent car?" she said, rolling her eyes.
The other girls giggled and snickered, and Luke felt his cheeks flush with embarrassment. Fiona's friends were quick to follow her lead and started making fun of his clothes, his car, and his manners. They teased him about being poor and being unworthy of Fiona's love.
Luke felt a pang of hurt in his chest. He had always known that Fiona came from a wealthy family, but he had never expected her to be so cruel. He had thought that their love was based on something deeper than material possessions.

20k Rolin
Jamie Aldridge never asked for this. He never asked for the system, for the power, for the missions that drag him deeper into Seattle’s underworld. But when life throws a digital demon into your head, what choice do you have? Play the game or get played.
Simple.
Except it’s not that simple. Because this game? It’s rigged. And the stakes? Well, they’re higher than Jamie could ever imagine.
"Who the hell are you?" Jamie demanded, his voice rough with exhaustion, and his mind a tangled mess of fear and fury.
The Broker smiled, a thin, calculated curve of lips that held no warmth. "I'm the man who’s going to change your life, Jamie. Or end it. Depends on how well you play."
"Play?" Jamie spat, barely holding back the urge to punch that smug look off his face. "I’m not playing your game. Not anymore."
The Broker’s eyes shone with a dark and knowing aura. "Oh, but you are. You just don’t realize it yet."
Now Jamie’s on a collision course with forces beyond his control—shadowy figures who pull the strings, secrets buried so deep they might as well be myths, and a system that seems determined to push him to the brink. And just when he thinks he can’t take any more, life throws him another curveball: Emma. His unbearable bully of a wife. Pregnant.
Yeah. Ain't gonna end well.
In a world where survival is a day-to-day battle and the lines between ally and enemy blur with every step, Jamie has to figure out one thing—how to win when every move feels like a losing one. Because failure? It’s not an option. Not when his life, and the life of his unborn child, hangs in the balance.

Survival’s Path
“Yeah, I’m sure he’ll be back,” Kaelan said.
“We need to leave.” Kaelan picked the four daggers up then headed for the door. The duo left the room and made their way down the stairs.
“Huh? Are you leaving?” the innkeepers voice sounded behind them. Two scythe is hand, each connected to chains. “You havent paid your clean up fee. Im sure you two messed up the room with your fun.”
Kaelan raised a brow, but Lira spoke first. “How much?”
“Ten Sarls.”
She didnt complain. She placed it on the front desk beside and asked, “can we leave now?”
“Yes, yes. Do come again. I like customers like…” the innkeeper paused. His grip on the scythe got tighter. “Tch, they are back again.”
Liras ears twitched, and her hand tightened around her dagger. “They are here,” Kaelan said, while looking around.
A shadow moved across the broken window. Then, the door burst inward, splintering at the edges.
Three assassins tumbled in, cloaked in black, daggers flashing in the dim light. One lunged straight for Kaelan.
Kaelan bent to the side, letting the blade slash past him. He grabbed the table and swung it, smashing the first attacker into the wall. The impact sent dust into the air, and the man groaned.
“Hey! My Sarls,” yelled the innkeeper. Glass shattered as assassins came in through the window. “I’m gonna kill ya,” he said and charged at them.
Lira was already moving, slicing, dodging. Her attacker was fast, but she was faster. Kaelan tossed a dagger at him. It pierced his neck from behind. Lira turned to him, but he didnt pause. He grabbed the third assassin, swung him like a rag, smashing his back into the wall.
Kaelan bolted out the inn and Lira leapt after him.
