Chapter: Ch. 70 - Locked Up
The policeman grabbed Jackson’s hand. With a solemn expression, he uttered. “Please come quietly. The homeless man passed away. I have to bring you in for questioning.” The young man stood next to the policeman with his hands crossed and a grin painted on his face. He rolled his eyes and sneered. “Serves you right!” Jackson remained unfazed. He didn’t commit the crimes they suggested, but ‌he still felt a knot in his stomach. “I’ll go with you, but none of your claims are correct.” Without a single word leaving his mouth, the policeman approached Jackson and cuffed him. He then turned to the grinning young man. “We got him, young Master Bacco.” With hurried steps, the wealthy young man closed the distance between him and the overjoyed policeman, then smacked him on the head. He leaned to his ear and whispered. “Shut up, idiot! Just take him away…” “Y-Yes sir!” Right then, Jackson’s worries were justified by that minor exchange between those two. Instead of talking his way out of

Chapter: Ch. 69 - Crimson
Screech! The sharp sound of the tires against the asphalt and burning rubber from the friction turned the heads of everyone present, horrifying them at the same time. Their mouths gaped when they saw a woman floating mid-air before she fell on the rough asphalt. She groaned and spewed blood, adding to the formed crimson pool. Jackson, without wasting a second, rushed to her side. “Someone call an ambulance!” He gently tacked her hair away from her face. The girl’s eyes followed his movement. Visibly frightened, she shivered. Jackson held her hand and patted her head. “It’s going to be okay.” His soothing voice brought about a calmness in her rapid heartbeat. Unable to believe their widened eyes, those present held their mouths with their trembling hands. Muffled voices of fright reached Jackson’s ears. “Hmph! What’s with the horrible acting?” Jackson turned in the voice's direction. He saw a haughty young man in a gray suit. He had just gotten off his sport’s vehicle. A gliste

Chapter: Ch. 68 - Hynkel Estate
After a couple of hours in the autobil, Jackson and the others arrived at the Hynkel family estate. With no gates or fences as if it invited people in, the estate welcomed its guests. Although Jackson thought it curious, he more or less understood the meaning behind it. A warlord and a nefarious one lived there. Someone must be stupid enough to infiltrate for whatever reason. The Hynkel family openly showed its might. The road ended when a paved path started, which led into the estate. A garden with abundant greenery and fragrant flowers surrounded the buildings. Different sections divided the place. The current head of the Hynkel family lived at the upper level, whereas Rosalia and her brother, as part of the branch family, lived in the lower. Men and women wearing black suits patrolled the mansion and the surrounding areas, with gun holsters strapped to their chests. It served as a warning to anyone who thought of trying anything against the family. The rest of the family live

Hello all, I know these past few weeks there were no updates, but things have been really hectic at work with Black Friday and all. It's only on the last Friday of November, you say? Nope. Not for retail shops. At least in my country. Some even have the entire month. Fortunately, it wasn't the case in my store, but we still needed to prepare and stock up products. Electric appliances, and all that need space after all. I've seen your comments and appreciate you taking the time. It means a lot, since this book has been going really well with your help and encouragement. It motivates me to keep going. Please be a little more patient with me and I'll get back into it. Chapter: Ch. 67 - Eastal
The noble minister gargled in a pool of his blood. He laid on his stomach, unable to turn around. His face grew pale and the light in his eyes became dim.One could say it was because of the fear he felt at when Ulrich pounded him without remorse. It took but one punch to demolish his spirit.Queen Melina stared down at him from her throne. Silence brewed for several minutes until Ulrich stood next to Jackson. Then the Rosenbaum Kingdom’s queen spoke in an utterly bitter tone. “You, the minister of this nation, betrayed our people, broke laws and murdered innocents for your greed. As queen, I dismiss you from your duties effective immediately. You are to wait in a cell until the day of your execution.”She looked around and met everyone’s eyes, making them realize how serious she was. She then stood up. Just before she left, her voice echoed throughout the throne room. “Take this scum out of my sight!”Until this happened, her people and nobles thought she was just a figurehead not to

Chapter: Ch. 66 - Queen Melina Rosenbaum
Jackson and the queen laid on the bed. She found comfort in his embrace as she caressed his chest with her finger. It followed a circular trajectory which tickled him.The two remained quiet for several minutes.A knock on the door brought them back from their haze. They both got up and dressed. Jackson went to the door. He knocked back and Ulrich pushed it open. His voice echoed through the crack. “Young master, there’s movement in the corridor.”Jackson adjusted his shirt and walked towards the queen. “Your highness. The people I told you about earlier seem to be more active now.”The young woman smiled, buttoned her shirt and walked towards the door. She knocked twice. Her thunderous voice sent chills down Jackson’s spine. “Open the door!”Just as it opened enough for her to go through, the queen slipped outside. Soon enough, the people Jackson followed appeared in front of her. Ulrich flexed his muscles and shielded her.“Hey, Ulrich, push this thing a little more.”Ulrich stepped

Chapter: Ch. 49 - A Girl With a Bow
The young man released Jin. Upon setting his sights on the barrel of the gun, shock painted on his face. Rena took him by surprise. The girls shrieked in fear. Jin shook his head, urging Rena to put the gun away. “Such a trivial matter. Rena, what’s the matter with you?”“S-Sorry, I don’t know what came over me…”Rena lied. She knew that even though he was a delinquent, Jared had no chance of beating Jin. Unconsciously, she pulled the gun out, attempting to save his life. The girl, dejected, glued her eyes to the ground. Jin patted her head with a smile on his face. He leaned closed to her ear and whispered. “I know what you did there, but you have no reason to worry. If he doesn’t threaten you, I won’t harm him!”Gina and Minnie sighed in relief, but their impression of Rena changed. Jared still shook in his shoes. His knees lost all strength and he could barely stand. A thud coming from the other side of the door raised their alarm.Jin sprung open the door to see what happened. Th

Chapter: Ch. 48 - Gun Point
“Gina! How did it go?” A young man noticed the girl with short red hair coming through the door of the broadcasting room. Gina adjusted her glasses and, with a stern look on her face, glared at the young man. “As good as you would expect…” She took a seat in front of the console and sighed. “Before we could search the area, the corpses were on us. Minnie rushed into the supply room, and I had to come down.” With shock written all over his face, the young man ejected from his seat. “Wait! You mean you left her alone, up there?” Gina ran her fingers through her hair. She tagged them behind her ears and adjusted her glasses. She pushed the button on the console for the microphone to go on. “Minnie, can you hear me? I’ll come back for you, so stay put.” After releasing the button, the mic went off. She turned to the young man and glared at him. “There! Happy?!” Meanwhile, Jin and the others had just finished the undead. Rena looked at Jin with a smile on her face. “It’s the same voic

Chapter: Ch. 47 - Old Friend
Jin grabbed the wire rope in time, only to swing and crush on the school’s brick wall. The sudden impact made him lose his grip. He grabbed it once more and slid down for about an entire floor before he could strengthen his grasp.“Jin, are you ok?!”He gritted his teeth. There was no pain and for that he was secretly relieved, but the friction just now nearly reached the bones of his fingers. With two floors to climb, Jin cursed his luck. “I’m fine! I’ll be right over!”Not minding anything else, he pulled himself up, using the wire rope until he reached the roof. Rena let out a sigh of relief and helped him over. She gasped at the sight of his palms. Blood dripped uncontrollably. The flesh vanished entirely.Without saying a single word, Rena ripped a piece of cloth and wrapped his hands. She didn’t know about his skill or that he’ll soon be fine, and Jin chose not to tell her either. Since she’s willing to help, he’ll gladly accept it.Even the Bronze Skin of level 2 couldn’t do an

A brilliant silver moon shone on the city. The shadows of the infected accompanied their growls as they roamed the streets. Rena peaked through the curtain. Her voice came out almost like a whisper. “It’s the same as before. The dead walk around in great numbers.” Jin, in a seated position, leaned back on the counter facing the entrance. “You said you have a plan?” “Yes, if you noticed where we are, the building next to us faces the

If anything happened, the guards keeping watch would inform them in time. Only this time, it didn’t happen. Jin was asleep in his tent when the scream from a girl woke him up.
