Chapter: JOURNEY THIRTY-FOUR
I started to get apprehensive. "Is this really Dave or an impostor?" I thought. I found an excuse to leave, so I went to a quiet place and brought out my research journal. I wanted to check if there was anything related to his communicator. Aha! I shouted within as I spotted the device. It was a new high-tech variant to Zephyr whisperer, and it's very inconspicuous. I only noticed it because I paid rapt attention to his ear. Since the device is from the CS, that means the person using it is also a CS member. I thought about it for a moment and connected some figurative dots. "There is a high chance that Dave from now is just a clone," I thought. The clone was probably a variant from the root module called the egg, the fluid mechanism that could change to any device once the code is input; it was the CS's latest tech.I snapped out of my daze and decided to find out if Dave was truly impersonated by a robot. I thought of a plan, so I put a call through to Joe. "Hello Joe, can you help

Chapter: JOURNEY THIRTY-THREE
"Took you long enough," the skill is "TIME ECHO," HOL said as he lunged towards me. Fighting HOL had always been my greatest headache; he was too nimble and insidious. He was always a troublesome fellow to deal with.Boom!! I took the hit with my dragon legs. I went hurling backwards and almost hit my head before I regained balance. But HOL was fine, standing stalwart like a stallion. "Damn this stupid skill," I cursed silently, but not due to anger. It was because my fighting spirit had peaked. My eyes went burning with zeal; I could already feel my deified aura, and I was very sure that it was within my grasp. I exploded in HOL's direction without even waiting for the last encounter to cool down. HOL also didn't give me a moment of reprieve as he moved at a speed of about 2500 m/s. I marveled at his speed because my puny speed of about 300m/s paled in comparison to his. Due to the cave being so small, HOL reached where I was in a fraction of a second. Too fast!! I barely took two st

Chapter: JOURNEY THIRTY-TWO
"So what's its real name?" EDEN, HOL replied. "So where is this Eden located?" I asked with piqued curiosity."No one knows," HOL explained. "Some say it's underground, while some say it's in another world entirely."I nodded as I tried to comprehend what he just said, but I ended up with more questions than answers."I think we have to find a place to camp for now so we can set out tomorrow.""There is no day and night cycle here," HOL replied. "If we walk farther, we are going to see a lighted area. There are several routes that we can pass to avoid dark areas. Also, we warriors have a nice grasp of time, so there are no qualms with the system here."I was still quite confused, though, but I was too lazy to ask questions because I would only end up with more questions. But there was a question burning in my heart that I couldn't help but ask: "So how do the plants here photosynthesis?"HOL turned to me and replied, "I know you can feel the energy radiating here. As we warriors feed

Chapter: JOURNEY THIRTY-ONE
"Wait, now?" I said, clearly confused."Yes, the place only opens at night," HOL said.I quickly took permission from him so I could inform my mum. While HOL packed some of the things we needed, I ran to my mum's room and knocked on the door."You can come in," my mum said.I opened the door and met her meditating on an invisible platform she made from energy. It seemed like she was afloat, tapping energy from her energy dispenser. She was clearly healing herself."Mum, I will have to be on my way right now. I want to accompany HOL to a place that apparently only opens at night.""Hmm!" My mum heaved a sigh and said, "That means you are going to the 'expanse of warriors.' Please be careful. Make sure you don't die."I was suddenly taken aback, because whenever my mum said "don't die" that meant she noticed that danger was coming. I nodded in reply and bid her goodbye.I walked up to HOL as he was packing his stuff. I looked into his eyes and said, "Hey, you didn't tell me where we are

Chapter: JOURNEY THIRTY (FIRST JOURNEY - EDEN)
A figure came dashing out of the shadows with an astonishing speed of over 2000m/s. Like a passing light, he ran towards Jade's uncle, picked him up by the neck, and slammed him into a nearby tree. The tree shuddered vigorously.I quickly activated Body and increased my visual range to make out the figure of the expert that came dashing in. "What!!" I exclaimed with my mouth wide open. It turned out it was HOL!!"What is he even doing here?" I thought as I examined him again to be sure it was really him. I wasn't wrong, though, but there was something different about him. I ran up to them and came just in time to see HOL showing his "KING OF COMBAT ARTS" identification card.Jade's uncle became gobsmacked as he suddenly started to kowtow several times a second. He seemed not to care about the faintly blue blood dripping out of his nose from the earlier encounter. It was a really weird sight to behold: one was a matured man in his thirties with kids, while the other was a guy in his ea

Chapter: JOURNEY TWENTY-NINE
The three burly men were heavily smoking. When they saw us, they started moving towards us. The look of worry in Jade's eyes betrayed her thoughts. She knew them and was scared of them.It seemed those guys were bullying the old people in the neighborhood, turning it into a shadow of its former self. Many people were leaving or even refusing to come out. And if there was anything I hated to the bone, it was bullies!Suddenly, one of them, who seemed to be the one leading, spoke. "Hey, pretty girl, where's the money we asked for? Five grands, no less," he said, stretching his hands with a dirty smirk on his face. Then he looked at me and said, "Or do you want pretty boy to pay for you?"I sized them up. There was no energy pulsating from them, neither was there any strength in their cores of energy to speak of. If there was anything I learned from emotion, it was that the right choice of words deals the greatest damage. So I quickly retaliated. "Just because you came here with your leg

Death scape
Fantasy

The dying star pulsed, it’s heart on the verge of collapse. Twelve figures, cloaked in unimaginable power, stood amidst its final throes. On one side, six beings (the angels) blazed with light so intense, it dwarfed the star's dying brilliance. Across from them, five figures (the demons)exuded a chilling darkness, a black hole's silent hunger, their very presence accelerating the star's demise.
And in the center of this cosmic ballet of light and shadow, stood Reaper. He seemed to absorb the dying star's essence, his form cloaked in a darkness deeper than any of the others, a living embodiment of the star's final, terrible scream.
But then, the things discussed were by no means simple, the fate of the world was resting on their soundless star toppling discussion. The intensity of the conversation loomed above the star like an omen of death, accelerating it's death even further.
Suddenly, the figure in the middle broke the sacred rule, yelling in a language that speaks for all, his voice was like the rushing of a mighty wind.
I Reaper, will dethrone and destroy that God, make him pay for neglecting us all and if you don't join me, you will all suffer the same fate.
The faces of the angels and demons -a vortex of light and darkness- went grim as they moved to strike down the tyrannical being.
But before they could, Reaper, the demon of death and chaos was gone.
Our story...begins here.

Chapter: CHAPTER 45
"Crap!"Neo cursed, the word a tight knot in his throat. He ground his teeth together, channeling the last vestige of momentum from his swing, forcing himself forward. willow vine and the Bone of Contention were already plunging into the abyss below. Neo released his grip on the vine; he could summon his spectres back, but not himself from a potentially fatal fall. Spectres were expendable, but a half-insane Neo was not.The last surge of inertia flung him ten meters past below chasm's edge. Knowing the brutal impact was imminent, Neo summoned twin blades, driving them deep into the rock face. The swords bit, arresting his descent just short of a bone-shattering collision, Neo stared at the abyss below and smiled. "Not as bad as I thought ehh?"He dismissed his falling specters and began to climb, using his swords as improvised knives, hauling himself upwards inch by agonizing inch. Finally, he crested the rim of the chasm, emerging into the oppressive silence. Beads of sweat slick

Chapter: CHAPTER 44
After staring at Neo for a few fleeting seconds, Blob averted its gaze back to the ice above. It seemed to wrestle with some inner turmoil. The sun was rising, its light filtering through the ice, and a cold sweat traced Neo's spine despite the chill. It wasn't fear he felt, but anxiety. He had never faced a creature of such power before. Yet, if push came to shove, he was prepared to stand his ground and go toe to toe with the creature, even if victory was uncertain. At the very least, Blob would not emerge unscathed."Blood for blood; that's the afterlife currency."Blob finally appeared to reach a decision, meandering toward the distant chasm and disappearing within. Neo finally took a breath and felt a weight lift off of him.He was still reluctant to move, though, lacking a concrete plan of action. Neo began to mentally retrace his steps, sinking into deep introspection. But something quickly disrupted his thoughts. Emerging from the chasm in droves were familiar figures, crawl

Chapter: CHAPTER 43
Neo's vision and breath were momentarily stolen; the water muffled his hearing as the world spun around him. Then—Bam!!!He slammed against the floor, a jarring thud echoing in the cavern. A groan escaped his lips as he tried to roll over, but his entire body ached. To make matters worse, water continued to cascade onto his face. With considerable effort, Neo finally managed to roll out of the waterfall's path and stand, finally taking in his surroundings. The air hung heavy and still, a damp blanket pressing against his skin. An earthy scent permeated the space, a blend of wet stone and a peculiar, almost fungal, scent of antiquity. Above, a vast expanse of azure ice covered nearly everything, its light almost divine. This celestial radiance was punctuated by shadows lurking in the distance, where the light couldn't penetrate. A wide chasm, seemingly devoid of light, divided the two sections of the cavern. This was no ordinary cave; it was a subterranean chamber, a colossal cathed

Chapter: CHAPTER 42
Neo sat in a meditative pose within a cave, positioned several meters above the lake on the far side of the valley. The lake's waters silently lapped at the mountain's base as Neo stared blankly into the distance, seemingly indifferent to the leviathans battling far below. In truth, he couldn't see them at all; his consciousness resided in a different realm entirely.Neo’s feet dragged along the dark, charred sand. The silent breeze of his soul nipped at his skin. Around him stretched an expanse of the same strange, silent sea of dark sand, with a thick mist billowing in the distance. The only source of light was a pristine orb looming above. Though obscured by the heavy veil of mist, Neo could still discern its form.He had been mistaken all these years. The pristine orb was the soul core, the light that illuminated his inner being. He himself was within his own soul. The meaning of the billowing cloud of mist, however, remained a mystery. In the center of the dark desert lay an oasi

Chapter: CHAPTER 41
A sharp, rhythmic, metallic clang dominated the valley of endless battles, a sound interwoven with the distant echoes of death and destruction from the ongoing bloodshed.A young man relentlessly hammered a large, crystalline-looking mallet against a jagged ledge below his feet. Its head, twice the size of his own, moved with surprising ease as he struck at the base of a jagged ledge near the ground. He stood upon this very ledge, working to separate it from the mountainside. Each powerful blow sent tremors through the stone beneath his feet, sparks erupting as the mallet connected, sending shards of rock flying. This was Neo, and he was far different from what he used to beNeo’s body, once frail, was now honed and athletic. Sweat glistened on his bare chest, the muscles coiling around his chiseled form. His upper body was exposed and dirt-streaked, while below, his lower body was covered by Azure, a material that had folded itself into makeshift shorts for him. With a final, resoun

Chapter: CHAPTER 40
Neo gritted his teeth, fighting to anchor his teetering consciousness. This was, invariably, the moment he loathed most: the agonizing wait, eyes closed, as the mental assault from the stronger killing intents ebbed away. Yet, on this day, he forced his eyelids open, compelled by a suspicion that had gnawed at him since he first discovered the ice barrier. With strained eyes and sheer willpower, Neo managed to pry his vision open, just as the lake's water level began to plummet drastically. Then, a grotesque, blob-like mass began to swell from within, its size expanding exponentially. Simultaneously, another massive creature, eerily reminiscent of a lion save for its deep obsidian skin and tenebrous steel wire-like veins coiling throughout its body, descended. Its enormous wingspan towered over the battlefield, an omen of death. Its mane was a thick cloud of dark mist, obscuring the evil that lurked in the depths of its eyes, and where a tail should have been, an enormous stinger, wi
