Chapter 230: Arduous Training
Kyle ran up the steep hill, towards the Demon of the Nightbloom. Droigheann was seated on a large rock. He watched Kyle with an amused expression as the young summoner reached the rock, exhausted and out of breath.“Good job.” The Demon’s lips curled up with amusement. “Though you’re certainly exhausted.”Kyle nodded as he tried to calm his racing heart. He leaned against the rock for support as he panted.“Drink some water.” The Demon suggested. “Then rest for half an hour. After that, you’ll fight a few more rock elementals.” He pointed northwards, where two rock elementals were ever so slowly creeping closer.Kyle ignored the elementals and grabbed a bottle of water from his inventory. Drinking the icy cold water washed away some of his exhaustion. He forced himself to take deep breaths afterwards. His chest still hurt, and his lungs felt like someone had lit a fire within.

Chapter 231: A Lair of Elementals
“I’m going to check the surroundings.” Droigheann declared as he stood up. “Don’t wander away.”Kyle laughed. “Like I’ve got the strength left to do that.”Droigheann left, and Kyle lay on the ground, ready to sleep. He had lost count of how many elementals he had killed today. At first, he felt a little bad for coming here to kill them, but then Droigheann had explained how elemental creature were formed. They were beings created to be servants to powerful mages. But they had no real consciousness, they couldn’t understand spoken words, nor could they be communicated with in any other way. Telepathy apparently didn’t work, nor did any type of sign language that some mages had tried. They did usually have instinctive behaviours, though the miasma that infected them had clearly destroyed whatever was left of that as well. They needed to find the source of the miasma and destroy it if

Chapter 232: Behind the Cliff Wall
Staring at the crack in the cliff wall, Kyle couldn’t help but shudder. There was nothing that didn’t scream ‘cave with monster’ about it. First of all, the grass in front of the entrance had a yellowish hue to it, it looked sickly, and it was clearly half dead already. Then, there was the stench coming out of the crack. It was so strong and awful that even from so far away, Kyle could smell it. He covered his nose and mouth, then took a couple of steps back.“Definitely inhabited by a demon.” Droigheann spoke up. He had a distasteful expression, his lips were curled down, his eyes narrowed. “A nasty one at that.” He added as he stepped towards the crack. “Come on, let’s head inside. There is no point in wasting time.”Kyle gulped, then took off his scarf and wrapped it around his mouth and nose before following Droigheann. He wanted to breathe in as little of the miasma as possible.Read more
Chapter 233: A Part of A Demon
“Look out!” Kyle shouted at Droigheann as the cyst moved awkwardly. It grew larger and wiggled. Seeing it move like that was disgusting, and Kyle was pretty sure he knew what was coming next. Droigheann was surrounded, he had no way to retreat in time.“Barrier!” Kyle shouted. A golden light enveloped the Demon of the Nightbloom just in time as the cyst puffed up, then spurted a disgusting, brown substance.Immediately, Kyle felt dizzy from the stench that covered the cavern. The brown substance was like pus. Thick, disgusting, and extremely unsanitary. The cyst immediately started growing again, almost as if it was able to produce more of that brown coloured pus. Kyle gritted his teeth – he didn’t even want to imagine what would happen if that pus touched him.Droigheann continued to fight, his blade cutting through his opponents one by one. But there were too many corrupted elementals, too many for him to deal with on

Chapter 234: The First Payment
Back at the cathedral, Kyle enjoyed a nice, long soak in the hot springs, then slept for about twelve hours straight. The next morning, the muscle pain he had been suffering from was a lot milder and tolerable. He grabbed some food from the elf-run kitchen, then returned to his room. Droigheann had returned to what he called his ‘realm’. He was in Kyle’s shadow, as usual. Kyle was thankful for it because this way he didn’t constantly feel tired. He sat and ate, and once he was finished with his breakfast, he put aside the plate and opened his character panel.‘New Class Choice Available’The bright blue text was no surprise to him. He was now over level 100. That meant he could either pick a secondary class, or continue with his Summoner class, and take it to Summoner Tier III.He pondered a while. He was fairly strong now, he could easily pick a secondary class to try it our, but Rhealis’

Chapter 236: The Brewing Storm
“No!” Kyle pushed Vis away as soon as she was done drinking his blood. “No, this is my room, not yours. You won’t sleep here.” He hissed, unphased by the rather beautiful vampire’s hurt expression. “Aww, you’re not fun.” Vis whined. “Come on, what do you have to lose?” Kyle glared at her. “Leave!” He pointed at the door. “Or I’ll have Droigheann make you leave.” Vis pursed her lips. “I shouldn’t have lifted my mark off of you. You don’t even know how to have fun.” Kyle rolled his eyes. The last thing he needed right now was ‘having fun’ with a damned vampire! All he wanted to do was sleep! Eventually, he got her to leave, and breathed a sigh of relief. He rubbed the spot where she bit. It didn’t hurt much, it was mostly numb now. He lay on his bed again, and soon fell asleep. His dreams were riddled with images of the Celestial Realm. He woke up several times because it felt as if someone had pushed him off a cliff. Each time, his dreams only grew more confusing, until eventually

Chapter 237: Omens
“Let me get this right.” Droigheann leaned against the Evertree. “The damn Lich of all people is feeling tired. And everyone else had nightmares.” Kyle nodded. Irena pursed her lips. “I was resting, but my rest doesn’t happen in this plane of existence, so perhaps that is why me and you,” She glanced at Droigheann, “haven’t been affected.” The Demon of the Nightbloom let out a sigh. “Perhaps.” He admitted. “What about the Vampire?” He then asked. “She is, besides me, the strongest being on this plateau. Has she been affected?” Kyle averted his gaze. “I don’t know.” He wanted to avoid her for as long as he could. “I’ll go and ask.” Irena suggested. “Thanks.” The young man smiled. As soon as the Priestess was gone, Droigheann chuckled. “You really are a lucky fool, human.” He smirked. “A lucky fool who has started acting smarter.” He then added. Kyle rolled his eyes. “Yeah, yeah.” He brushed his hair back. “I need to know why everyone on the plateau had bad dreams and nightmares.”

Chapter 238: The Eye in the Sky
Frozen under the Greater Being’s intense gaze, Kyle held his breath. His heart raced, he could hear his own heartbeats. Why were they so loud?He didn’t dare meet the Greater Being’s gaze. He didn’t have a death wish after all. He endured the Greater Being’s gaze for a few more seconds, until it finally turned its gaze away. The young summoner breathed out a sigh of relief as he stumbled back with shaky legs and sat on the nearest pew. “I think,” He spoke just loudly enough so everyone’s attention would be on him. “It’s not hostile.”Murmurs spread throughout the grand hall. Kyle raised his hand to stop them. “Let’s sit and wait,” He spoke, trying his best to keep his voice calm. He could still see the Greater Being from where he was sitting. “If it wanted to harm us, it could have done so already. So, sit down, try to remain calm, and wait it

Chapter 239: A White Feather
By the time he returned to the Grand Hall, Irena had organised people into proper groups and sent them off to check up on anyone unaccounted for.“As far as we know, the biggest injury is a dwarf’s broken leg.” She explained to Kyle. “The elven healers are taking care of him now.”“Good.” The young man pressed his palm against his forehead. “I think I’ll go and rest.” He glanced out the window. The sun had set a long while ago. “If anything happens, and I mean anything at all, wake me up, alright?”“Of course, Summoner.” Irena hesitated. “I should inform you of something, then.” She added, causing the young man to stop mid motion. “The Greater Being’s descent completely shattered all of the protective spells I had placed on the plateau. I arranged for proper patrol routes until I can recast all of the spells.”Kyle narrowed his eyes. “So
