Chapter 340: Uneasy
“Well then,” Azazel folded his two pairs of wings, and then smiled. “That makes things much easier.” He gestured Kyle to come closer. The young summoner hesitated. He didn’t really want to approach the angel anymore. In fact, if it were an option, he would have put a hell of a lot more distance between them.Seeing the Angel finally relax his posture, Droigheann sheathed his blade, and took off his helmet. He then glanced at Kyle and nodded. The young man sighed inwardly and approached the Fallen Angel.“So this is the fabled Necronomicon.” Azazel leaned down to take a closer look at the book, deliberately avoiding touching it. “Much more modest than I expected.” He muttered, then straightened his back. “Have you read it, Mortal?”Kyle quickly took a few steps back. “I did. All of it.” He admitted. “What do you need from it?”The Fallen Angel’s lips curl

Chapter 341: Vis' Story
The Evertree’s trunk let out a soft, golden shine from the veins of flame within it. It was enough to illuminate this little courtyard. It’s leaves had a silver hue to them. It was a beautiful sight to behold, with the backdrop of the night sky.Had the stars not been hidden away behind the thick layer of dark storm clouds, the view would have been even more breath taking.“Well?” He asked, keeping Vis in his sight. The Vampire approached the Evertree. Her gaze lingered on its trunk as she clenched her fists.“The Empire was vast.” She finally spoke, forcing the words out. It was challenging for her to speak about this. She wasn’t very good at hiding how difficult it was. “It ruled the entirety of the known world, stretching beyond the wall of fog that exists now.”“It’s citizen were rich. Even the poorest could put food on the table without worry. The

Chapter 342: Conundrum
He narrowed his eyes. Was the Fallen Angel alluding to what he thought he was?“Do you mean it’s still ongoing?” Droigheann asked. The Demon of the Nightbloom didn’t seem bothered about that notion, nor did he seem to enjoy the thought of it. “Like… a time loop?”Azazel shook his head. “I do not believe it is a loop.” He pressed his lips together. “What happens when you take time out of the equation?” He glanced at the young summoner, who scowled. “What do you mean?”“Right now.” Azazel pointed at the ground. “If you were to describe this particular event, how would you go about it?”Kyle hesitated. “We’re discussing something?” He asked. He then realised what the Angel meant. “Oh, you mean… We’re in the courtyard. At…” He shot a glance at the sky. “Probably midnight?”Droigheann’

Chapter 243: Trust Me This Once
“Yeah, no.” Kyle shook his head as the Dark Amber whirled around him. “I don’t think this will work.” Like a storm made of shattered pieces of crystal, the Dark Amber blocked his view, and also his motions. “In fact, I can clearly see it’s not working, since I’m still affected by time!” He protested.“Silence.” The Fallen Angel’s words were as sharp as the pieces of dark amber whirling around the young man. “Do not distract me, mortal.”Kyle pouted but remained silent otherwise. Glancing at Droigheann, his shoulders dropped. The Demon of the Nightbloom clearly was not going to be of any help to him. He seemed just as absorbed in the experiment as the Fallen Angel.Minutes rolled by, and eventually, the whirlwind of dark amber shards reformed into one larger piece of amber before melting back into his skin, turning back into the tattoo. “As I thought,” Azazel muttered.

Chapter 244: Someone Who Can Help
“Let’s go.” Kyle stood before the Fallen Angel and fixed his cloak. “It’s a bit past dawn already. The sooner we go meet this person, the better.”Azazel narrowed his eyes. His gaze lingered on Droigheann, who remained seated by the door. “What about you, Demon? Are you coming?”Droigheann let out a sigh and shook his head. “No, the human’s power, and his survival is bound to the Evertree. I must remain to protect it.” He scowled and glared at the Fallen Angel. “Protect him, angel. If anything-““You need not threaten me, Demon.” Azazel stood up and raised his chin with pride. “The mortal will survive all of this. He must, so we can reach Necron. Is that good enough reason for you to believe me?”Droigheann smirked. “For now.”Azazel let out a bellowing laughter. “Let us go then!” He declared. He placed his left hand on Kyle

Chapter 245: Powers Seized
“Excuse me?” Kyle blurted out after a few seconds of silence. Azazel seemed as confused and lost as he felt. The Record Keeper chuckled. A wry smile formed on her lips, deepening the wrinkles on her skin. “You heard me, young man.” She said with a gentle, yet firm tone. “You are only a mortal, even with the power of the Necronomicon. You are bound to time, as any mortal is.”Azazel shook his head. “Fine,” The Fallen Angel huffed. “Tell me then, Record Keeper. How am I supposed to restore Necron to the flow of time?”The Record Keeper’s smile deepened. “Now that is a great question, my dear Azazel.”Kyle bit his lips. “You don’t have that power, do you?” he asked, glaring at the elderly woman. “You won’t help us.”The Record Keeper’s expression darkened. She furrowed her brows and looked at the table. She followed a long scratch on

Chapter 246: Hell No!
It took Kyle a split second to understand what she was talking about. His eyes slowly widened as understanding dawned on him. Blood drained from his face as the thought of using ‘master summoner’ on a Greater Being or a Demon Lord made him feel sick.“No, no, no!” He shouted as soon as he noticed how Azazel was staring at him in disbelief. “Nuh-uh! Not happening!” He protested, staring on his feet.“Oh, pray tell, why not, young man?” The Record Keeper asked with a sweet voice.Kyle clenched his fists. “Why not?! Because it’ll probably kill me!” He shouted. His voice cracked with panic. He couldn’t even imagine just how much of his lifeforce would be drained as soon as he tried to summon either a Greater Being, or a Demon Lord. It would probably kill him instantly.“I’d say it’s worth a try.” The Record Keeper chuckled. “Lif

Chapter 247: Another Dilemma
Kyle stared at the Demon’s serious expression for a few seconds before breathing in. “And what in the world made you think that’s a good idea?” he shouted, flailing his arms around in an attempt to convey how ridiculous Droigheann’s suggestion was. “Go and ask? Who are you going to ask that to?”Droigheann chuckled at the panicked young man. “You worry too much for things you do not need to worry about, human.” He said with an amused expression. His eyes glimmered as he grinned. “Most demons do not care about what happens in the material plane. The Abyssal Plane is more than enough for them. I am sure that piece of power has its price.”Kyle bit his lips. Control over time itself. That was what was at stake here. How could a power like that have a price? By definition, it must be priceless! Or that’s what he believed in. He hesitated still, what if something happened to Droigheann? What if a fight

Chapter 248: Rays of Sunlight
“IT IS AMAZING, KYLE!” Cacophus exclaimed as soon as the young summoner stepped into his study. “LOOK, THE SUN IS UP,” He pointed at the drawn shut curtains with his bony fingers. “YOU DID IT, DIDN’T YOU? YOU WENT SOMEWHERE WITH THAT ANGEL, YOU FIXED THE STORM CLOUDS, YOU MADE THE GREATER BEING LEAVE.”Kyle flinched. “Uh, no hang on.” He gestured the Lich to calm down. He was way too excited. Why? Had the Greater Being’s arrival scared him so much? Considering how he rushed to hide in the damp, dark catacombs below the plateau, Kyle didn’t have much trouble believing that.“I didn’t make the Greater Being leave.” He explained. “It was looking for something and left when it turned out it wasn’t here.”The green lights in the Lich’s eye sockets lit up with curiosity. “WHAT WAS IT LOOKING FOR?”Kyle shrugged. “I’m not sure.&rdqu

Chapter 249: A Visit From Vis
Kyle paced around the cathedral, taking in the view. While he had been taking it for granted until now, he forced himself to look, to pay attention to his surroundings. Wildflowers surrounded the small, stone path circling the cathedral. Fruit trees dotted the landscape around it, providing some much needed shade, and the delicious fruits he ate for breakfast every day.A wry smile formed on his lips. He paused, and crouched by the largest, most vibrant patch of wildflowers. He gently touched some of their petals, feeling the texture. The flowers from Necron were even more vibrant than these. They were sturdier, not so fragile. They bloomed so much more, in a matter of hours for some of them. Their scent alone was enough to help him relax, to calm him down and allow him to clear his mind. These flowers on the other hand… They were beautiful, but fragile. They bloomed for a couple of days, then wilted. Was that why the residents of Necron created st
