81. Glass Cage
Instead of getting up, Tejeda rolled over on his back, spitting the sand from his mouth. With his hands under his head, he stared at the ceiling above. Hardened sand neatly pressed against something that looked like glass at about twenty times his height. “So, what now? We wait for someone to come and rescue us?” Jackeye asked.Tejeda chuckled. "No, no. We are somewhere in the grand ocean that covers the entire Genoria Prime. Anyone who gets here will be as trapped as we are."A smooth breeze came out of various tubes that descended from above. A closed hatch stood just above Tejeda in the ceiling, adjacent to where the ducts slithered within. That had to be the location where they fell through. Fortunately, the sand cushioned their fall, and no one was wounded.last updateLast Updated : 2022-03-31

82. Gamble with the Ocean
Most believe that going up the food chain has only advantages, but being a mere insect can have unexpected quirks. Evolution comes with limitations, and Tejeda knew all about them. He had tiny hooks and barbs on his legs that helped him grip the duct's inside walls. He had to modify the original form of the body, making it unusually long for its size to be able to engulf his core. This was the smallest thing he had ever been. From his new viewpoint, he didn't shrink. The world around him became so huge that additional details were apparent, much like when you magnify a photograph and start seeing its pixels. But, instead of pixels, there were even more intricacies, like a world inside a world. The interior walls of the duct would have seemed level and smooth to a normal-sized person. Tejeda used every microscopic no

83. Fish in a Tank
"My name is Firion," the elderly guy stated as he stood up. His back was somewhat bent, but he was still very tall.“I’m Shayla.” She nodded and then pointed toward the members of her crew. “They are C1313, Cato, and Jackeye.”“Hmm, maybe you all really are real. Let me show you something.”They followed him as he walked between the houses. The old man turned around and outstretched his arms as they approached the opposite side of the fictitious settlement.“Behold the view that the Fishmen love so much!”On this side, all the dwellings had no walls. Anyone could see inside the houses. Each had only three walls and a roof, and just a few of them had some wooden planks plac

84. Airarium for the Princess
Maybe too accustomed to breathing air, living underwater felt peculiar to Tejeda. Every time the rush of liquid barged inside his gills, he thought he was going to drown. Even though both breathing organs diffuse oxygen from the environment across thin membranes into the blood vessels, the difference in structure felt awkward for him. He needed a lot of time until he could coordinate the entire procedure and run it at a normal pace.Looking around, he noticed he was near the outer reef of the spa island. The sun was shining bright and hot, but the cool water running through his gills allowed his body to keep cool.A salty sensation remained stuck on his pointed tongue, and he imagined what food might taste like now. The transition had not triggered his psionic powers as he was in the darkness of his non-organic core. He had to find out how things worked within

85. The High Chancellor
After a while, another creature of the same species swam toward Tejeda. It looked like the guard who left, but this one had a darker green hue while its fins were almost white. Could this be the way they showed their age? Was this the equivalent of white hair or something?Tejeda looked at his emerald scales and smirked. This female body was young if the green shade was the indicator. A sly thought scrambled through his mind, and he looked down. Even though they were covered in scales, he had boobs again. The smirk widened. When the High Chancellor arrived, Princess Allanna was in a pleasant mood, her white, sharp teeth showing clearly. He let himself land on the ocean bottom once he quit flailing his fins and tail. Floating when a monarch was on two feet would have been an act of contempt.Princess Allana didn&rsqu

86. Mighty Savior
While watching the epic battle outside in the depths of the ocean, everyone in the airarium was petrified. Sometimes the air breathers couldn't see anything because of the darkness covering the two opponents as they took the struggle farther away from the glass wall. On the ocean floor, the line of sight wasn't the best. But what they witnessed stayed with them. The pictures were etched into their minds, and no matter how hard they tried, they could not erase them. But this type of brutal aggression was nothing new to any of the Space Spoon crew. When the waters around them settled into an ominous stillness, Shayla’s eyes narrowed as she glimpsed something strange hovering in the waters and advancing at a steady pace.A metallic shape reflected in the glass. As it approached, they could glimpse the familiar form of one of Hanga's self-sufficient repair droids. Cato gasped, while Shayla smiled. A sphere similar to a transparent force field kept the water away from the small contraption

87. Thirst for Blood
Stacks of green-scaled enemies on all sides of the stretch of land, rising from the calm ocean. The green brilliance warped Shayla's vision, giving an eerie glow under the two suns. She attempted to recall the layout of the place. A tiny creek ran through a few trees on the left. There was also a cliff on the right that led to the beach.Seeing the enemies encircling them, she realized that it didn't matter anymore. Green scales glowed from the cliff's top and from between the trees.“How many of you have weapons?” she asked without taking her eyes off the incoming enemies.Silence followed, but Shayla didn’t have the time to wait. “How many weapons?”"I thought we were on vacation," Jackeye murmured as he scratched his head. "In the real world, I'm not very skilled with weapons anyway.""Then you stay back with Firion and E00." Shayla drew a laser pistol from her waistband. The flowing large shirt covered it perfectly until now. "Take this, Jackeye, just in case."C1313 stepped forwa

88. Second Thoughts
Shayla slacked off in Tejeda’s chair inside the captain’s office. Everybody arrived safely aboard the Space Spoon, but she didn’t feel safe anymore. Her index finger tapped on the desk at a maddening pace as she stared at the Nubilae’s silica core. “How long are you going to gawk at him instead of giving him a body?”She flinched. Her fingers stopped beating the rhythm. E00’s unexpected intrusion came at a moment when she was in deep thought. “He can wait a bit more. After all the shit he put us through, I think I owe him something.” Shayla clicked her tongue. “I can’t stop thinking about what he’ll do once he has a body again. Will he pick the most dangerous task on the mission board? Will he drag us again into a so-called vacation where we’ll almost die?”“Are you afraid?” E00 always knew what questions not to ask and still voiced them aloud."No." Shayla rose from her chair and began pacing around the room. "I used the Beridium dagger again today, a weapon I promised I would not

89. Hunting the Hunter
"We’re heading for RK10." Tejeda spun around in his chair, but his demeanor was different than usual. As he sank deeper and deeper into the twirling seat, his chin rested on his knuckles. "This is not an authorized mission. The planet is beyond the Interplanetary Police’s territory, and if things go wrong, I might get more than a discharge from the force."He stopped spinning for a while, looking at everyone’s faces. The entire crew came to the meeting room right after he had ordered an emergency meeting.Going after Rahul like this was the point of no return in Tejeda's career, maybe even in his life. Choosing whether or not to bring his team into this was more difficult than he had anticipated. It would have been best if he had given them a choice.“Since when do you concern yourself about your job so much? Do you really think any of us cares about those funny guys in blue suits?” Hanga toyed with one of his droids in a corner. “Any of you who joined this ship to work for the police

90. Defined as a Robot
To avoid making a mess out of things, the Space Spoon remained hidden behind RK10’s moon, Rurar. C1313 was a bit upset that they wouldn’t land on the moon. Instead, she and Jackeye took a shuttle toward the planet and docked safely at the edge of the outer ring. The sky above their heads glinted gold, with bands of pink, lilac, and silver. When the shuttle docked, the pair disembarked and headed toward the spaceport. Only a few hovercars appeared in sight since most of the beings around here didn't need one. They left the docks behind and strolled through the crowd."It looks like it's not a normal day on RK10," Jackeye commented. "We should have come earlier. It might be too late to attend the event."“Oh, don’t worry about that."It was difficult to move through the swarm of entities that went back and forth. Each robotic component glittered in the sun, so it appeared that the conference was going to be aluminum-ating.C1313 had a comprehensive map of RK10 in her memory bank, so th
