31 - Adran the Unprepared
Asher the Insane/Solomon Cliff
Okay, Adran, you can do this. You got skills and equipment from that woman. ... Okay, that's no consolation, like, at all. I don't trust her, not even the slightest smidgen.Neither do I trust the skills she, supposedly, transferred to me and, least of all, I don't trust the armor she gave me. After all, she said, "I'd rather give you a fashionable armor set that fits together instead of one made of mismatched pieces, which had better effects but would be ugly. Presentation is a part of fighting." I didn't like to hear something like this in the situation I found myself in.What did it matter if it was mismatched if it was going to protect me?I'd rather look silly than die. These fights were not for fun- well, for some maybe, but your life was on the line, if you did not fully intended to sacrifice it in the name of the tournament then the arena was not a place you found yourself in just by happenstance. I breathed in and out heavily and took and head in my hands and despair

32 - Asher the Spectator
Asher the Insane/Solomon Cliff
A brother against brother fight is always interesting. Comparing their everything, skills, weapons, tactics, and even looks is something people always want to do; seeing the contrast of two people who grew up so close to each other. Sadly, I already knew who the cooler brother was. Adran was the dorky lame-looking one. Now, with all the equipment I gave him, it looked like he was trying much too hard to look cool. But you can't blame him for that, cause I gave him the armor. It was the only thing I could do not make him look like a complete dope but also give him something with good- well, semi-good stats on it. Iadra, on the other hand, was naturally way cooler than him. He was a twink, clearly, who was dual wielding twin swords with differently colored buffs, I'd imagine, while basically wearing black-bluish armor that was just cloth. It wouldn't provide any protection at all in the real world, well, not 'real' world. To all the people here it's the real world, for me it is A

33 - Iadra the Swordsman
Asher the Insane/Solomon Cliff
I am proud to face my brother. Though I would have never imagined him to muster up the courage to face anyone, especially in a physical fight. Seeing him grow up, he always shrank in the face of confrontation. But today... Even so, it was heartbreaking to see him. He had an odd stance, unsteady feet, an unflattering posture, ill-fitting but very sturdy-looking armor, and the appearance that he may unintentionally drop his weapon at any time. The weapon, specifically, he held in his hand, still in its black sheath, was similar to my own swords, with a slight curve and a white handle, gold adorning the guard. I'm intrigued about how he got hold of this equipment because it appeared like it would be rather expensive, and I doubt Adran could keep it a secret where the money came from. At any rate, in the past, he had never been a fighter, neither owning a single piece of armor nor a weapon. He was always quite mild, preferring more cerebral challenges over more physical ones, li

34 - Iadra the Wavering
Asher the Insane/Solomon Cliff
The path I forged with [Storm's Path] turned the sand I trod upon to a glassy walkway. As lightning would have stricken any man, so I struck my own brother. But a split second before I had hit him the woman in the crowd, that my brother had been talking to since the beginning of this fight, yelled out, "MOVE YOUR ASS, ADRAN!" There was no use. None, in all the world I'd like to believe, had the speed to dodge [Storm's Path] fully but for one such as him, even a single graze would make him fall. Years ago, when I first obtained this skill, it already had the capability to cut through solid steel, and now, with all, my body, mind, soul and skills further refined, it should have cut through anything that had been laid before it. Most who will see it in action will have no choice, either taking it head-on or in a desperate attempt to try and block it, in which, if they even come to have the option of it, it will be an effort made in vain. Adran was not a man who was capable of neithe

35 - Asher the Puppeteer

HAHAHA YES. Through [Remote Control] I controlled Adran. Kinda obvious, isn't it? Remote control was a very descriptive name of what that skill did. What wasn't very obvious is the control scheme on this thing. How the fuck do I control Adran with this skill? He was moving around, that much was clear but so.... uncontrolled was a very illustrative word at this very moment, even if it was one-hundred percent true. Let's think for a second. This isn't a MOBA; imagining myself pressing Q, W, E or R didn't do anything, except cramp my hands a bit. Neither is this a fighting game- well, it somewhat is, from this angle, looking down at the two of them, as an audience member, it kind of looked like one. In my mind I tried again with the imaginary keyboard presses, but again, nothing happened. If I had a physical mouse and keyboard, I could work this so much easier- who am I kidding, playing fighting games on a keyboard is one of the most uncomfortable ways to play that genre. If

36 - Iadra the Engulfed
Asher the Insane/Solomon Cliff
In an instant, after putting on the gauntlets he had brought out of the rift, Adran's aura had changed. No longer was he a frightened little boy but a fighter first class; a man who had been fighting for years, a rugged combatant, but in the end his face betrayed him. He was still scared, now even more so. His fighting style was that of a hand-to-hand brawler, with fast and strong but elegant and efficient movements he rushed at me. There was only one person I could compare these skills to. Jarant, a very cocky stone-troll, was not only the strongest physical person I had known but also the best hand-to-hand fighter I have ever fought. A few times I fought him, in a friendly sparring match here and there, with no equipment or skills involved. Never will I forget that experience. If we were in a serious fight; where there were no weapons involved; I would have been sure to lose. Though comparing Adran to him, it was clear that my brother was lacking the refinement of someone w

Knocking strange looking arrows, then aiming the bow, Adran shot me, not once, or twice, but one-hundred-twenty-two times. It was neither as fun for Adran or me as it was for Asher. "DON'T WORRY, THESE ARROWS DO ONLY ONE DAMAGE PER POP," she assured. Adran used his last two action points to change into another set of equipment, a minstrel’s uniform, and pick up another weapon, this time a lute. And when it finally was my turn, the impact of all the arrows hit me all at once. It threw me to the ground and a burning sensation began, but only once for a short while. I could stand, but had lost almost half of all of my health. Most of the damage came from the burning. The bow and arrows were just an annoyance. "Adran," I said through shallow breaths, "after I am finished with you, I will strike down that damned woman." "I would be completely fine with that," Adran answered. I held up both of my swords as my turn began. Both my blades began glowing with energy as they drew from th

38 - The Brothers Arre
Asher the Insane/Solomon Cliff
Having a look of shock, the older Arre brother, Iadra, had awakened, but not where he had anticipated. He was lying on a bed with clean sheets in a white room instead of on the hard, sandy ground, with dust blowing up all around him. His body ached, and even sitting up was a herculean task. He noticed that next to him, sitting in another bed, was his younger brother, Adran. Iadra began by apologizing, "if there ever was a time I mocked you or have treated you with less respect than you deserved, I am sorry." Adran, after all the years that he tried to chase his brother's shadow, felt good that Iadra had acknowledged him, but this was neither the time nor the place for statements that came from the heart such as this. "After what had occurred, Iadra, you deserve to rest," said Adran as he stood up and beckoned his brother to lie down again. Iadra asked, "what has happened? Where are we? And where is that woman?" "You're in a hospital and it's been a day since the arena. You've a

My head hurts. The headache I had because of the buff never seemed to disappear. I could never 'clearly' think. It's always like there is a fog around my thoughts, but I do my best when I try to think. There also wasn't only a fog but a stinging, generally all around my head. It's not really a kind of pain that you just get used to after a while. I've had it for a few months now and it never seems to get easier to deal with, which sucked. In the future, I'll have to find a way to deal with this before it drives me completely kookoo bananas. But now, I just wanted to rest. Building a cozy cabin on the edge of some small town and relaxing there for a few short weeks sounded like pure joy after all I have been through. Retire for a while, while also trying to learn a bit more about the world, some history maybe. I was always a big fan of lore in all that I read or played. I also liked the history of my own world. The Roman Empire and The Warring States in China were most likely m

40 - Zedro Diringer the Priest
Asher the Insane/Solomon Cliff
By the gods. What am I going to do? "Oh, hear my prayer, Goddess Alexandra, Lady of Redemption and Vindication. I am just a lowly priest and your faithful servant. I ask you- I beg for guidance," I knelt down. "A few days ago, a relic, your very own medallion, which you gave to humankind to serve as a call to you, was taken from the church vaults by a ruthless and stone-hearted man named Aebshem and his group of followers. They worshiped false deities and golden idols and besmirch not only your name but the name of all the gods which reside in the heavenly realm with you. I've sent first-class heroes to take it back from their nefarious hands, but I'm still concerned. I have exerted all of my efforts, all the gold and silver I could muster. I wish I could do more, but with a weak body, all efforts I would make are in vain.My own hand is cursed since it is incapable of even striking when the gods command me to.Oh divine Mother, please give me a sign. What more can I do to help?" I
