Gnomes are like minions. Not in being yellow, or having a single eye, or being shaped like capsules, but in that they are extremely good workers, and not so great at fighting.  Their intelligence is distributed differently. Their hands are dextrous, their mind has wondrous imagination, but they sucked at fighting.  Thus, it was easy for humans and elves to conquer them and enslave them.  Initially, things were alright. However, the giant phosphorus ball was not their only problem.  As the ball is not yet released, the semi-transparent membrane that separates the sweet water pool from the ocean has become solid. A green vine started looping through the barrier, twisting all the way to the top, making the entire pool look like a gigantic cannibal flower.  When the vine's tip reached the very top, the vine stopped moving through the membrane, and twisted itself sideways. It’s sides are full of serrated thorns that look like fangs.  If those fangs cut through your skin, you would more than lose your limb.  The entire structure of the vine through the membrane started rotating, picking up speed. Read more
