Sometimes, the brain works a thousand times faster than your body could. Unfortunately, most of these situations involve impending death.  Neil could see the cliff nearing. Like spiderman’s premonition visions, he could even see the angle the mast will hit the cliff at, how the break would split their little raft, which direction the three of them are going to fly off towards.  All he needs to do is brace his legs and pull the line, like one would pull on a swing's ropes then lean forward to swing. All he had to do is lean forward a little. That will change direction.  It’s a very simple movement.  Yet, his body felt like molten lead, and his mouth felt like it’s full of sand. H
