WAR PLANET: The Phantom /PenWang
Ronan pinched the silver whistle between his fingers, thin as a miniature flute and bound to a thread like chain of silver. The creepy stranger had gifted it to him, and through his mannerful upbringing, or fear of being stabbed, Ronan had accepted it without a word, Locke's words playing through his head on repeat. If you find yourself or Puff in any sort of trouble, don't hesitate to use this.Did being kidnapped by an alien exchange student count as 'in trouble'?Ronan sighed, stashing it in his pocket as Truvius wandered out of the study room. They locked gazes, the connection quickly dying as the two took more interest in the floor."That dirt on Red..."Ronan let out a sharp sigh before Truvius could finish, holding the roll of parchment out to him with a sour frown. "See for yourself."Truvius timidly grabbed it, unfurling the paper to flash a crisp flow of letter. It was an arrest report, copied by enchantment with the emblem of Listillvice plastered to the upper left corner.

Red cursed under his breath, trying to hold down his slippery snake of a cat while he brushed out a mat next to her tail. For a guardian with the mind of a human Ragdoll was still surprisingly stupid. He hooked the brush into the tangled cluster again, frowning as the cat slapped his hand with her hooked talons and growled. "Would you prefer scissors?"He mocked Ragdoll's scrunched frown, working at the knot again until the wrap of knuckles berated his door. His tranquility had lasted less than an hour since getting back from a mission with whining second years and he didn't have the patience to perform another exhausting chore for whatever was on the other side."Hey Red, I know you're in there!"He recognised Draven's voice, putting his finger to his lips to silence Ragdoll so he could pretend he wasn't in.But another voice perked his attention, Ronan's presence calling on some curiousity."Red, I've got something for you."With a deep sigh he stretched to his feet, catching the gl

Ronan walked with a new spring of energy, even waving the elites goodbye after he'd pulled Puff from their suffocating cuddles. He'd done his part in getting home and now the rest was all up to Red. "My, you seem happy," Phantom said, adding a skip to his step as he strolled alongside Ronan in the dimmed halls. "I didn't think you were capable of joy." "That's cause I'll be going back home soon," Ronan replied, a triumphant smile on his face. "Red said the battery was the main issue with my return trip, and now that he has it I'll be back at my house in no time." "If Blondie is worth any trust," Phantom replied, his playful tone allowing the weight of his words to float right over Ronan's rare spurt of optimism. "What's it like on Earth that makes it so ideal to return to?" "Well for one it has an Internet, and I can finally charge my phone to catch up on stuff." "Internet?" Ronan grinned. "You wouldn't understand it if I tried to explain it, think of it as a library that isn't

It had been well over two weeks when Jeremy returned, letter in tow and a flurry of unwarranted head bats ready for Puff. Ronan's guardian was not the only downcast individual however, Red had disappeared again, and with him, Ronan's estimate in getting home. Phantom had entirely given up on cheering up Ronan after the first week had exhausted, his superficially joyous tone returning like a dead flashlight in a dark forest. Ronan sighed as he unfolded the letter, hoping his uncle wouldn't gloss over Puff for a third time in a row. His uncle wasn't the type to miss details unless he wanted to, and if he was purposely ignoring Ronan's question then leaving Puff in his care wouldn't stand as a good idea. He glanced at his roommate's empty bed with a disappointed frown. He'd asked Truvius as soon as the idea hit him, but along with being incredibly allergic to the drake, he simply didn't have the money to give Puff a good home. At least that's how he'd put it. With no hope in his min

Truvius squinted, hoping that pinching his eyes enough would help him see through the sea of black his group had ended up in. They had found the cathedral from the last game, and everyone seemed to know exactly where they were walking. Except him, for once. He gasped as a stone caught his foot, shoving into Ronan's shoulder to catch his balance. With a stiffled grunt, Ronan steadied him, his friend's face half a foot away and still completely invisible to Truvius. "What are you, blind?" a voice hissed, its owner signifying Veronica was about a meter ahead of him. "It's pretty dark," Alestra whispered, her voice sending a shiver up Truvius' spine when he realised she was directly behind him. Ronan's voice came out a little louder than the rest. "I can see." "Me too, everyone else must be blind as coinkidinks," Veronica huffed, her softened steps quickening as they slapped against a puddle. "There's a wall ahead, don't run into it coinkidinks." "Lead the way dragon princess," Ales

Mi'karu stopped, ears to the sky as he sniffed at the air and pawed a dusting of loose dirt and leaves. Talli had asked her guardian to sniff out the closest group, but wasn't quite sure what Alestra planned to do when they found another student. She tensed as a scream ripped through the air, closer than the last two and immediately turning them in the opposite direction."Those molves are really racking up on points," Alestra muttered,"Y-Yeah," Talli replied, her heart pounding a mile a minute as she imagined every scrape and dancing blade of grass to be a bloodthirsty molve perched around the next corner. She had told herself it was just a game half a dozen times, but even with the words on repeat in her head, giant stone wolves chasing her for the ribbon flapping out of her pants only fueled the anxiety pulsing through her veins. The only thing that could possibly be worse is if Mr. Mudelin joined the game and started chasing them.Talli stoppe

Veronica stared at the dancing flames in her palm, a faint flicker to barely light her position. She'd grown restless waiting for Cinder to return, passing the minutes with a small twig she was using to draw cats in the dirt.Hide and seek was certainly boring when you were too good at it.She breathed out a heavy sigh, listening to the seldom drips of the leaking architecture, a faint whistle sometimes rising when the breeze picked up. No scrapes or shuffles. No gasps or breathing. Not even a distant scream. It was boring. She closed her eyes, thinking through her plan once more. It would inevitably go awry, but failure was seldom the same thing when she played her pieces right.Veronica felt a brush of warmth, the air tingling with a welcoming presence Cinder always brought. As she cracked open her eyes it was no surprise that her guardian had returned, only with a grey and sulking feline to follow her into the dugout.Perfect.

Veronica loved executing plans almost as much as making them up. Perhaps it was watching the confusion on the face of her prey before they realised everything too late, or the rush of power she felt pulling all the strings on a play of dull puppets. As she stood poised in plain view of five molves with her blue ribbon in one hand, it was a little bit of both. The molves were beyond confused at her arrival, still checking the other entrances for a sneak attack as she calmly walked towards them. But she was the only student with the gal to even come within five skips of the molve's flag after seeing it.As the first molve got up to face her she stopped, a sweet smile touching her lips for the expected gesture. "I want to make a deal."The molve snorted, its dripping tongue lazily hanging from a row of jutting fangs as it eyed her ribbon hungrily. There wasn't a thing Veronica could currently offer that could strike a sound deal with the team of molves. They

"Good job Talli," Alestra said, two green ribbons clutched in her palm from the unsuspecting students she'd snuck up on while they were busy cornering Talli."In the short distraction however, they had lost sight of their real goal.Or phoenix, to put it simply. She scoured the skies, climbing the closest wall for a better vantage point, but the fiery bird was nowhere in sight. She had dipped for something, and given the look on Veronica's face when they had left her it couldn't have been anything good. She took a moment to think on their next action. They had two ribbons, which was more than what most of the hiding students could say.Was going back to the flag a good idea? With a quick skim of her surroundings, she jumped back down, going straight for the wall of trees that acted as the boundary line for their playing field. At least with her back to the forest, she wouldn't have to worry about anything sneaking up on her while she made a

"Are they there?" Truvius whispered, peering around the corner with confusion. Ronan shushed him, bending low as he pressed himself against the wall to sneak up on his target. Truvius mimed him, still wearing a face of confusion as they approached a broken down hole in the wall. Phantom gave Ronan a thumbs up and walked through the hole first, his silence lingering for a couple painful seconds as he skimmed the empty space. "There's nothing... " Ronan looked at Truvius and nodded, receiving even more confusion from his friend. "Is someone the—" Ronan shoved his hand over Truvius's mouth to silence him. "There could be, just wait." Truvius' face relaxed with a smile as he lightly nodded, patiently waiting for Ronan to round the corner first and skim the empty room. With a flinch of surprise, Ronan grounded his feet. The room was small, but it certainly wasn't empty as Phantom had said. Dancing in the middle of the darkened space was a h
