WAR PLANET: The Phantom /PenWang
Run.Ronan stood there, his mind screaming for his body to catch on to the snapping twigs behind him. It was close, whatever it was, but it had yet to actually reach him.He just had to run.A tremor of energy crawled through his body, the push to flee slamming against a strange wall of frozen nerves as his body didn't even twitch. He tried again, the same force squeezing his joints resounding with an unnatural pull.Run, run, run.He could feel his heart dip with the rollercoaster of emotions, picking up to a hammering pound as he came to a disturbing realisation. His mind was racing into a chaotic mess, but the desire to flee screamed over all the other ideas. His legs were weak, but not enough to stop him from running. It wasn't fear binding him."Ronan, quick! Insanctious!" Phantom called, oblivious to the spell that had even sealed his lips from moving.Ronan could only stare at Phantom in crushing silence, every in

Ronan tried to focus on the good things. For one, Lady Samanthra seemed to have dusted most of the forgotten corners of her office, but it had left a clear contrast that exposed every dirty secret the rest of the floor had been trying to hide. He grimaced as his gaze shifted to her packed desk, a full stack of papers one poke from tumbling into a massive mess. There really wasn't a lot of good things to focus on.Especially when he was being poked and proded at by a strange teacher while Samanthra and Mr. Mudelin watched in eerie silence from the corner of her office. The teacher pulled his head back forcefully, finally breaking the silence as he finished his grabby inspection. "Yeah, nothing off about him. Might be thanks to the protective charm around his neck, but all I'm getting is traces of an immobilization seal and some illusionary magic on his eyes."Ronan rubbed his hair back into place sizing up the lean man that looked a little older tha

Truvius slipped into the study room, a home of books and perfectly filed notes that he had made his own. The only essence of Ronan to ever grace the shared space was a bottle of strange smelling liquid he had sprayed the desk's legs with, but Puff still gnawed at them.Other than that, he never visited the space. Not once.He went at a stack of textbooks he'd tucked onto a shelve, pulling away the pile to reveal a neatly tied and folded package of loose paper. It was the perfectly lined and cut parchment Ronan had brought from Earth, immaculately white spare the scrawls of writing he had tainted them with. A collection of sorted one sided conversations Truvius' had been busting his brain over deciphering. He carefully placed the stack on the desk, tugging out a few iron bound books tucked under the desk to drop next to the papers with a crunch. Ronan had left again, nowhere to be found for hours on end and completely out of range of his sender.Eve

"Red will be back from his mission before dinner, don't browse all day."Ronan dusted the last film of cobwebs off his chosen book, paying Veronica a curt nod as she dropped the dinted helmet she'd been toying with. "These spells look a little easier, there's even instructions."He could feel a wash of judgement as Veronica raised her gaze to his hair, still reeking of scorched ends from the lumience shield he'd accidentally combusted while practicing. He had hoped the secret room held a few tricks in getting back at Mr. Lightwood and although it did, he now knew it took more than saying the spells and crossing his fingers."Well I suppose if you incinerate your enemies with messed up spells that would be one way of protecting yourself from lumience," Phantom cooed.Ronan snapped his finger. "Precisely.""Mr. Lightwood can't just be tormenting you, I'm sure there's some reasoning to his training," Veronica said, waving away the strings of smoke on

Ronan held his phone up as he lay on his bed, clicking the power button nonchalantly. After weeks of faithful service it had finally died, so even if he wanted to share Phantoms existence with anyone else, he couldn't.Truvius wasn't in the study room for once, he hadn't seen him since he left to the library. A trip he was taking more than usual in the past two weeks.Puff sat on the pillow beside Ronan, looking down at Jeremy who was slinking back and forth beneath the bed. His uncle hadn't replied to his letter about getting back to Earth, conveniently forgetting most of his questions and answering the unimportant ones.He grabbed a sheet of paper, catching Jeremy's scowl. Dear Staz,I'll ask this again, if you're so pissed off about Red kidnapping me why can't you take me back? Also, thank you for finally accepting to take care of Puff, please keep Jay away from him though, your guardian has an affinity for bullying him.Als

Truvius watched the woven carpet lining the floor, trying to match his strides with Ronan's for the smallest ease of comfort. He had been talking the whole way, his tales of television and earthly culture filling up the silence as something Truvius could divert to for a few seconds at a time. However, no matter how interesting movies sounded, every time he looked at the path they trod the present nipped his mind. Regret had chained his feet as soon as he told Red his theory."So, do you guys have creepy ghost stories too? Can they possess people here?"Truvius blinked when he noticed Ronan's stare. He'd asked a question for sure, but it had bounced right off his head, and the last thing he wanted was Ronan to think he was blatantly ignoring him. "Yeah."Ronan grimaced, his silver eyes flicking around the empty hall. "Dang that's kind of creepy."Truvius slowly nodded, his mind falling right back down to the present. They were almost at the library,

"Walk any faster and I'll think you're excited to see Lightwood." Veronica said, letting a grin slide as Ronan slowed to match her and Talli's strides. "Ten days," he growled. "And a half," Veronica added, giving Ronan's shoulder a consoling pat. "Don't let Red get to you." "I'm not. I was thinking about other stuff," Ronan sighed, slipping his hands into his pockets with a bitter frown. "He just has this mood dampening superpower." "He is kind of mean..." Talli muttered. "It's no wonder he goes off on missions and hides in his room all the time. He probably doesn't even have any friends, unless you count Maria and Draven." "It's more manners with my sister, believe me," Veronica replied, gazing at the iron bound doors of Mr. Mudelin's classroom with a suppressed shudder. "This place reminds me of a dungeon." The door cracked at her trailing voice, slipping open ever so slightly for Mr. Lightwood to peek through with a cattish smile. "No one ever said it wasn't. If you look har

Veronica sat outside of Mr. Mudelin's room alongside Talli, flicking a ball of paper back and forth with Cinder. There was always the random muffled explosion or worried warble from Puff that would sound off, but by now even Talli had stopped worrying about it.But when there was a loud meow the two immediately shot their heads up.Jeremy trotted up to them with a small letter shoved into his collar, drawn to Talli's broad smile as she showered the cat with affection.Puff's not gonna be happy about this. Veronica thought, looking at the letter impassively. She always wondered what Ronan's strange uncle tucked in the unlabelled envelopes, a tantalising secret kept to Ronan's eyes only. All at once the light flickered on, Veronica striking Talli with a determined smile. "Do you have any paper?"Talli pulled a little piece of paper and a pen out of her satchel, presenting the objects to her friend. She grabbed them and immediately scribbled, smiling contently as she folded up the piece

Veronica walked into Mr. Mudelin's class, the iron maws slamming behind to call the class to her entrance. Mr. Mudelin himself only gave her three seconds of attention. "Late, the exam has already started Strylez."With a pressed smile she ignored his stare. It was Cinder's fault for attacking the dragon clock when she'd decided on an afternoon nap. "But present nonetheless." She said, pulling off a staged bow for the glaring teacher. "Apologies sir, I was just making sure I was completely ready.""Your lack of a combat suit certainly shows that," he replied, quickly skimming the crowds of students. "Minefeld, you have a new partner. Please refrain from sending Strylaz to the nursing wing."She locked with Truvius' gaze, an evil smirk pulled by the joy in her mid. He had successfully avoided her conversations, never landing himself alone under her wrath because he knew it would spell the end. He was working with Red, and they had some cruel plan for Ronan that she was going to rip out

Veronica could feel a warm puddle forming in her mouth, slick and salty as it gushed from a gouge in her tongue. The attack Truvius delivered had been expected, but aiming directly for her face and forcing her to bite her own tongue was not a situation she had prepared for.Regardless of the circumstances, Veronica hadn't a shred of remorse. She was exactly where she wanted to be."Do you want to stop off at the bathroom?" Truvius said, his voice a weak whisper in her presence. He was doing everything he could to avoid eye contact, a glimpse of her face enough to leave him sickly pale at his actions. "I'm sorry...""For what?" Veronica replied, underestimating the well of blood in her mouth as some of it bubbled out onto the floor. She slipped a handkerchief from her pocket, the white cloth quickly turning red as she spat in it, paying Truvius an evil grin as he stared. "Not surprised you went with a sneak attack.""I didn't mean to hit you in the face, I was going to go lower but..."
