WAR PLANET: The Phantom /PenWang
Phantom drooped his shoulders in despair at Ronan's bland goals. "Come on, you're no fun."Ronan sighed and pulled out his cellphone, surprised at how long he'd left it untouched. It had been three days since he was kidnapped, the days painfully carved into the soft walls of his mind as a haunting reminder, a countdown clock ticking too slow for his liking.Just three days had been an eternity and a half.To his relief, his phone couldn't share in his suffering and still had a good amount of power, sitting snug at thirty six percent. He turned it off again, weakly rising to his feet as the cloak of Iridis, and every homely memory he'd ignorantly spent, dragging his shoulders into a curled slouch, his eyes barely open as its cold hood sang a headache to life. He'd gone through more traumatizing situations in those three days than the entire list from sitting in his empty house on Earth. To him, getting off the planet had topped winning the lottery ten times over and adopting a tiger cu

WAR PLANET: The Phantom /PenWang
"Where are we going?" Phantom said, while Ronan irritably weaved through the crowds of students rushing to class. Puff struggled to keep up with his speed walking, and was forced to break into a light bouncing trot, snorting and huffing at the lack of consideration."Somewhere nobody will look for me," Ronan growled, twisting his head up to glare at the ceiling. "Is Tella watching me?""No?""Good."Ronan kept his brisk pace, constantly updating with Phantom on Tella's position, until he made it to the empty room. He fished the Ceptrum out of his pocket, and looked around for any unwanted attention, before sticking his hand out with the white stone and calmly saying the password. He touched its grainy surface, smiling as his fingers sank through the sand-like facade and quickly pushing through it to face the creepy blackened corridor.Phantom popped his head through with an attention snatching snap. "I thought you said—""Shut up," Ronan spat, storming down the narrow flight of steps

WAR PLANET: The Phantom /PenWang
The ghost sighed, waiting for Ronan's attention before drifting to the middle of the room. It stopped at the thick desk, bending down to try and fit its large mass underneath the cramped space. After a couple shuffles and uncomfortable wiggles, there was a click, and the shadow came back out to reveal a secret hatch in the floor it opened, the gleaming smile still platered to its dead face.Ronan smiled nervously at its unfaltering joy, dipping his head in thanks before looking down into the hatch. Sure enough there was a glossy white stone, and some extra guests had woven the beautiful object a less than complimentary dress of thick cobwebs."There it is!" Phantom cheered, causing Ronan to jump and smack his head on the panel of wood. "Now, take it out and put it in the white circle in front of that bare wall over there."Ronan gave the rock a fearfully disgusted look and failed to move, his fear ridden gaze falling on Phantom."What's wrong?"He gave the thick spiderwebs a long hard

Puff had sprawled himself across the cold floor, drooping his eyelids in a weak attempt to stay awake as he watched the black haired boy, or as everyone seemed to be calling him, Ronan, fail spectacularly. The eerie man in red didn't seem to be entertained either, the excitement filling him burnt out with his sunken shoulders.Ronan's constant failures had slowly grinded down on his nerves, and now everyone was leaking a fatigued and disappointed gloom."My, I've never met someone as bad as you at this," Phantom sighed. "I tell you to do one thing, and for whatever unfortunate reason you manage to mess it up.""Might have something to do with the fact that I've only known about this stuff for three days," Ronan retorted, sitting on the floor in boredom."Okay, try breaking that stick without touching it again," Phantom said, taking his own seat upon the floor."It's not gonna work. Again," Ronan sighed, muttering at the stick. It didn't move, which was the expected outcome at this poi

Chapter 27
WAR PLANET: The Phantom /PenWang
After a chaotic hunt through the bustling corridors, Talli's guardian Mi'karu had bowled over a sizeable swath of students hounding down Veronica's scent, and Ronan had definitely lost a couple potential friends by clumsily running into them while dragging a hyperventilating Truvius behind him.Now they were silently standing before the pair, sharing in their diverging form of discontent. Veronica was holding him down in cold silence while Cinder sang to Puff, and Red had a soured frown on his face that somehow tacked on a couple extra years to his features. But the only thing that mattered to Ronan was their focus.Him.He chuckled nervously in the tense silence thrummed with Truvius' incessant panting, holding out the fluffy and purring cat to Red with a faltering smile.Red immediately grabbed her, but she was quick to protest, latching onto Ronan's sleeve with an audible groan of displeasure. He stared at her with more irritation than confusion, giving the cat a light jiggle as he

Ronan had left dinner early again, banking on the liklihood that Truvius wouldn't drop in on his conversation with Phantom while the two stood in the small study room, ignoring Puff as he gnawed on a desk leg."How could he see you?" Ronan whispered, holding his phone as the short video played over and over again. Phantom's voice clear as day as he jumped into the frame at the last second.Phantom shrugged, tranced by curiosity as he stared at the video. "Why don't you ask your little magic box?""It's an inanimate object.""An inanimate object that can see? What a strange invention," Phantom chimed, squatting to stare at the back of Ronan's phone. "I'd love to pay your people a visit some time."Ronan smiled. "You could, but make sure it's during Halloween."The passive insult flew past Phantom as he grabbed his chin in deep thought, suddenly snapping his fingers to announce his epiphany. "I know! Your magic box lacks a life force, so it may explain its abilities to ignore the curses

WAR PLANET: The Phantom /PenWang
Ronan was now standing in the middle of the school's field, surrounded by his fellow classmates and the green-uniformed students they were paired up with. They hadn't gone back to the forest since the first day of school, most likely due to the fact that Mrs. Vienta had gotten her weekly dose of mini heart attacks that day, and didn't want to risk any more.In fact, this was the third time they had even gone outside, since they were put through extensive safety protocols for practically everything. Ronan soaked in the brunt of the blame, but through the whispers and playful jabs he honestly couldn't tell if his classmates hated him for it or were still laughing and waiting for him to screw up again, like he was doing in all the other classes.Mrs. Vienta was giving the class a run down on her idea of a game, with eight menacingly large Molves sitting beside her. These ones seemed bigger, and they didn't have giant openings in their chests anymore. After a quick skim of his peers, it w

Everyone was on high alert, keeping their eyes peeled for hidden rocks in a place made of them, while trying to avoid yet another kind of rock, with large teeth and a mind of its own. Fortunately enough for Ronan, they hadn't crossed paths with a Molve yet, but he couldn't say the same from the other groups, judging by the random screams that would pierce the air. Although unnerving for Ronan and his team, Phantom seemed to be unimpressed at the lack of chaos, and how terrible the Molve's were at this game for not ambushing them as soon as they entered the ruins."I'm gonna go tour around, I'll tell you if I find anything," Phantom cooed, waving Ronan goodbye as he took a sharp turn through a wall.Jane sighed, looking around at the crumbled scenery. "At this rate, we'll have to take out a Molve to get enough points to win.""Good luck on that, these ones don't have any weak points. Unless one of us is strong enough to blow them to smithereens," Xander replied, his voice pitched to sa

WAR PLANET: The Phantom /PenWang
The ruined cathedral was dark, only giving form to unrecognizable shadows that played tricks on the eye as even the slightest bit of movement would give them life in the sight of caution. Alestra protested the idea to light up the path, as any lurking Molve would be able to plan an ambush on them from a mile away, so they were forced to stumble in the dark. The creepy and consistent dripping of water travelling through the dead halls like an ominous call.Phantom was a different story, he could coordinate his way in the dark like it was midday, and pointed out a number of concealed stones to Ronan, which was helpful, but also made him feel a twinge of cheating guilt as they racked up on points his group wasn't responsible for.The trio tip toed through the stone halls, cringing at the smallest sound they made, since it travelled further than a chunk of juicy gossip tossed to a hoard of famished valley girls. They had gone into a basement of sorts, where they found a small webbed room

WAR PLANET: The Phantom /PenWang
The Molve ripped the air with a bellowing roar, bursting into bright orange flames with it's jagged canines bared and coated with thick saliva. It was a familiar sight to Ronan, who was scared enough given the circumstances. His defensive posture faltered for a split second as the Molve's murderous gaze burned a hole through his mind. He couldn't tell if it was staring at him, since its pupiless eyes were simply a swirly hurricane of thrashing orange magic. But he also didn't feel like the thing was going to stop at simply taking his ribbon."Run?" Phantom whispered, the surprise clear in his tone as he soaked in the mysterious bloodlust.Ronan slowly nodded, then twisted around on his heels, fleeing for his life. The Molve didn't spare a second in commencing its chase, leaping into a sprint and landing a few feet behind him.Digging its claws into the ground to prevent it from sliding into the wall, it used its momentum to propel itself forwards yet again, landing inches from Phantom
