Chapter 30.2
The Molve prowled through the dark, its keen claws clicking eagerly against the ground with every step. Veronica and Xander huddled out of its sight, pressed into the back of a small stone covered hole they were fortunate enough to find while holding their breath in fearful anticipation. The clicks grew louder in tune to their waning chances of escape, the small play of moving shadows giving them a foggy view as it circled them. Then the glowing orange eyes came into view, faint as it lowered its head in front of them, thankfully peering in the wrong direction.Veronica readied herself to let loose every explosion she knew on the creature, staring at it in fear as it slowly turned it's head, meticulously scanning the area. The Molve's breaths were cold and calm, it's mouth slightly ajar to display its rows of serrated fangs. Luckily, false life enchantments lacked a sense of smell, giving them the smallest chance at avoiding detection. But that chance was getting smaller and smaller,

Chapter 30.3
"That was way too much!" Phantom yelled, still gripping his ears as he stood in a cringing squat. "What part of, you can stop now I don't need any more lumience did you not understand?!"Ronan sat on the ground, panting and coughing from the amount of dust and smoke surrounding them. "I told you I didn't know how to stop it." He snapped, coughing up a bit of hazy smoke as his voice dried out. "At least it worked.""Are you hurt?" Phantom questioned, watching him get to his feet dizzily.Ronan rubbed the burnt pebbles and dust out of his hair, looking around with a frown. "Don't think so, but I'm taking a nap after this.""No seriously..." Phantom said with a hint of concern."Seriously, I'm fine. Do I look injured to you?" Ronan insisted, displaying himself to Phantom."No, but you should've been, I wouldn't have been surprised if you died. Sad, but not surprised.""That's comforting." Ronan scooped the Molve's medallion off the ground. It was covered in black scorch marks, but still

Chapter 31
Cinder chirped happily at the sight of her friend, swooping down onto Puff's head and massaging the scruff of his neck."Oh, whaddya know, Mudbrain is back," Phantom growled."Quiet," Ronan ordered, looking around the corner cautiously. "Is it coming this way?""No, it took a right," Phantom quickly replied, pretending to lean against the wall with a heavy sigh. "It's going to the explosion site, but there's another one that might come this way so we'll have to get out of here.""Got it."Ronan lifted his butt, preparing to bolt into another patch of shadows when a shrill call tacked the first nail in his coffin."Ronan!"Ronan shot his head around at the sound of his name, his snarling glare hardly masked fast enough when he saw his teammates running loudly towards him. He leapt to his feet and shushed them, but it was already too late.Phantom sighed, smacking the back of his head against the wall in defeat. "The Molve changed paths. It's coming for us."A roar echoed through the ha

Chapter 31.2
Ronan tiresomely shushed the group, and explained the situation. His teammates didn't even question his statement, and stealthily started their escape, jumping over any stone slabs they saw, and trying their hardest to land on the soft dirt.Talli almost finished making her way across, and landed on a pile of dirt like everyone else had, unaware of the weak stone it was concealing. With a loud crack the ground gave away, and Jane grabbed Talli by the shoulder, pulling her to safety with Xander's assistance.Veronica froze where she was, halfway across the path while she dish eyed the wall, then back at Alestra and Ronan. They could hear the muffled growling coming from inside the building."Keep going," Phantom cooed. "It's in the building, not like the ghoul faced chalk sniffer can do anything from in there."The Molve barked, the ferocious twang showing it had heard Phantom's comment. With a scraping thud, everyone froze. It was attacking the wall."Nice one," Ronan muttered, watchi

Chapter 32
Ronan had a pleasant dream. He was back on Earth, eating pancakes, walking to school, and for some inexplicable reason, enthusiastically prancing through the field in front of his house. Then Red came along and it became a nightmare. Just before Red kicked him into a swimming pool full of sharks, Ronan sprang awake, disturbing Puff, who in response to the sudden movement dug his claws into Ronan's stomach and bristled his fur. He slowly leaned back down, a fissure of searing pain cracking through his skull in tune to his beating heart, and the newfound pricks Puff had provided him with dotting his stomach."Oh you're awake are you?" a familiar voice said. "Don't worry, you're fine, but I wouldn't recommend getting up for a bit."He squinted until his eyes adjusted to the light spattering the room, then looked to whoever was talking to him.Maria smiled as her shadow gave his eyes some relief, casually filling a small glass with water."If you're wondering where you are, this is the nu

Chapter 32.2
Ronan dizzily climbed the swirling staircase, with Truvius leading him and constantly looking back to ensure his friend wasn't about to faint again. A couple acquaintances had hitched a ride during his short walk, Leon, Veronica, and Talli lingering at the lip of the carpeted stairs to chat. Completely deterred by it's exhaustive height. They finally stopped before the dragon carved doors in awkward silence, Truvius trying to mask his wheezing pants as he grabbed his knees. He finally straightened his back with a heavy sigh, poking at the smoothed metal with confusion."Are we supposed to knock... Or?"Ronan was too tired for formalities and shoved the door open, spooking a woman who was on the other side, standing on a scraggly ladder that screamed danger.Lady Samanthra hugged the shelf to steady her sudden imbalance, and looked to her guests like a deer in headlights, the ladder quickly stabilising in the thick carpet."Oh sorry dears, you scared me." She shakily climbed off the la

Chapter 33
Truvius's eyes widened when Ronan came out with the suitcase trailing him, his voice dipping to a shocked whisper."What is that?""A suitcase, it's like a bag with wheels," Ronan said, but Truvius's awe didn't change. He circled the object, looking at it from all angles and knocking on different parts of it. Finally, he noticed the zipper and pulled on it. Naturally, it went up with a loud zwoop, magnifying his awe as he ran the zipper up and down, watching it close and open with Phantom hovering over his shoulder. The man seeming to be just as captivated by the contraption.Ronan wasn't seeing an end to his fascination, and stopped him after the constant sound resurrected his headache, reluctantly agreeing to Truvius' suggestion in putting an illusion on it. As much as he hated his roommates perpetual state of being right, a metal box with wheels and plastic would definitely land him with a hoard of nosy classmates if left undisguised. And so, after a few minutes of muttering and in

Chapter 33.2
Just as Ronan was about to listen to Truvius' advice, a set of grating nails scraped at their door, coming from the wrong side to be Puff. Truvius went straight for the disconcerting noise, Ronan tailing his roommate to make sure the whack of a planet he lived in didn't do them in. With a slow clicked the door cracked open, and a pair of frosty blue eyes looked up at Ronan from the floor. The gasp lodged in his throat, his heart fluttering to pump out a fresh batch of energy and fuel his relief. One of his few pieces of home had returned, surviving the alien wilderness and learning there was no company like his."Jay!""This your Guardian too?" Sev boomed, popping into view and snatching Jeremy off the ground. "That door is polished winter tree, you'll freeze your butt off in the sandregian ice plains getting a new one. Doubt you got the sliv to replace it either, so keep this cute ball of fluff off the furniture."He suddenly registered Ronan's face, eyes widening with realisation at

Black pooled like ink throughout the tight room, shaming the ebony nest on Ronan's head as he leaned out of his covers with a stiff groan. Puff wasn't in his usual corner, the brilliant ball of white shirking his gaze completely, along with his nosy cat that had likely found it easier to slink through the blackened room with his charcoal coat. His throat wasn't as dry, but still smacked and rubbed with every swallow. He moved his tongue around, feeling the calcy stick lacing it with a sour tang and scrunching his nose as he cooked up the best place to find a cold glass of water.Truvius would probably know. His heart flattened when his eyes rested on the empty bed. Perfectly made and void of its typically snoring occupant.Ronan slid out of the bed and parted the curtains left of his bedside. It was late, the only thing to light the sky being the massive brush stroked planet.Where's Truvius? Ronan thought, looking around the empty room. He was nowhere to be found, and it had to be pa

Chapter 34.2
Ronan swallowed, the fear dodging his pulled muscles and climbing into his mind. He was following a stranger to save a stranger, and now he was honestly doubting his logic as he came upon the side of the potentially dangerous person and flashed him a timid smile."This might sound weird... But can I have that rock back?"The man remained silent, his violet eyes focused ahead with an ease of comfort. Ronan wasn't even paid a glimpse as the man slowed his strides to match his, the grass only crunching under Ronan's soft and soggy socks. Every step drew closer to the wall of rich green, a mass of emerald shadows filled with death for those who rarely trod it. Ronan had already learned his lesson about crossing its threshold without permission, and didn't need seconds. His voice spiked with an involuntary crack. "Please, I know it might sound crazy, but my friend is in there. I need it back."The man finally stopped a foots-length from the first poking tree branch, the swaying grass aroun
