CHAPTER 131
Jim’s arms were still bleeding, so he couldn’t run fast, either. A lot of thoughts ran through his mind. What if some door were to open now, forcing him to fight again? What if multiple doors opened? Moreover, what if Ronny decided to attack him now?All these thoughts kept his heart running faster than ever. His mind worked on hyper mode. Staying outside was much riskier, so he risked it and said, “There’s a key in my pocket.”“Key?” Ronny remembered that Jim had a master key. Seeing that Jim’s arms were not in a position to grab the key and open the room door, Ronny put his hand in Jim’s pocket and took the key out.It was the key that could open any door on that floor, the lowest floor and also called the fourth floor of the dungeon. The thought of running away with the key did cross Ronny’s mind, but he believed that he had a much greater chance of survival with Jim. So he opened the door. There was a robot with a human face and a dog inside.“You’re not supposed to come into this

CHAPTER 132
A few hours later.Jim’s injuries healed, but he was feeling weak and hungry. This was similar to the feeling of tiredness and muscle stiffness and soreness one would expect after doing intense workouts. However, the difference was that there was no satisfaction involved in this case.“This must be the side effects of the nanobots working a lot,” Jim muttered under his breath.[Well, they use the electricity in your body to run, so it puts a strain on your mitochondria.] Joe said. [Once the cells get burned a lot, the effect will reach your brain, too, and you’ll feel mentally drained. In the worst case, you will get seizures.]Jim’s eyes slightly widened. “Why didn’t you warn me then?”[There was no opportunity, so I didn’t feel the need to tell you.] Joe replied casually.“Tsk,” Jim got up.“Are you finally leaving?” the robot asked. It hadn’t given much useful information to Jim, other than telling him the name of the dungeon and how many floors this dungeon had.Jim went to the wa

After resting for an hour, Jim trained for the next few hours, taking short intervals in between.Ronny couldn’t believe how Jim was able to work so much. “I’m feeling so hungry even though I barely worked, but how’s he able to work out so much and not complain about hunger? Just what is with this guy? He’s able to get the master key, and he’s also not afraid of being in the same room as this robot. He’s definitely not your ordinary guy. I just hope he’ll not die before he gets me out of this damned place.”Jim eventually finished his practice and looked at the robot that had been sitting in the same position all this while. “Is it possible for you to take me to the next floor?”“That’s not something I can decide by myself,” the robot replied.“I see,” Jim understood that the robot was capable of taking him to the next floor, but it wasn’t allowed to do so. He looked up at the ceiling. “What if I just make a hole in it?”Ronny was startled to hear that. The robot grinned. “You can cer

The gorilla was very big in size, but it was also quite fast. With a single leap, its face was almost in front of Jim, and it tried to grab him with its hand.Jim jumped forth and raised to the level of the gorilla’s head. He thrust his right hand forth like a spear. “Hundred Pound Spear Shock!”The vivre concentrated at the tip of his hand and sharpened into a spear that propelled forth at a great speed and struck the gorilla’s face in between the eyes. The gorilla screamed in pain and quickly covered its face with its hand.“I don’t see any blood. Tsk,” Jim frowned. “It was more concentrated than the one I used to kill Pyron. It has a lot more penetrative power, but it still couldn’t cut deep enough to make this thing bleed? Did I misjudge its strength by that much? If it wanted to escape this place, it could easily break through its walls, but why doesn’t it do that?”The gorilla removed its hand, and as Jim expected, there was only a small cut at the spot where the nose and the fo

The room number that Jim ran into was 999, the one with a metal door. It wasn’t right next to number 1000.Ronny entered the room very soon, but then his heart almost exploded when he saw what was a ten-foot-tall gray werewolf, eating from a dog’s corpse, slurping its intestines as if they were noodles. But after seeing the humans, it growled and tossed the dog corpse away.“Run,” Jim said.He didn’t need to say that because Ronny also started running. The werewolf immediately got onto all fours and was ready to leap at Jim. His instincts told him that it would easily be able to chase them unlike the gorilla, so instead of showing his back, he jumped at him at first and threw his fist. “Bone Breaking-”The werewolf immediately howled, sending an air blast that sent Jim flying out through the door. The werewolf was coming out, but Ronny immediately shut the door. The werewolf banged into the door, but the heavy metal door withstood the impact, though it suffered a dent.“That was close

Ronny was in the running mode as Jim opened the door, but his body language completely changed after seeing that there was no beast inside the room. In fact, there was nobody in the room, except that it was full of cylinders fixed to the walls. There were also beds and television.“Whoa…” Ronny entered the room and shut the door. There was even a red carpet on the floor. There were small bulbs glowing and lighting the room, so it looked beautiful. “I was not expecting there’d be a room like this.”“We’re going to be staying here for a while…” Jim touched one of the cylinders. There were seven cylinders inside, but these cylinders were almost thrice as big as the one he had used before.“What are those cylinders for?” Ronny asked.“It’s something that will help me with my cultivation,” Jim said.“Cultivation? That’s a very fantasy term.”“Well, that’s the best term I could think of,” Jim replied. “If I assume each cylinder is going to take six hours at the least, then seven cylinders w

Almost three days later. At Spring hospital.“It has been seven days. Why isn’t she waking up?” Lola looked really worried as she asked the doctor.“Don’t worry, ma’am. Her brain readings show signs of improvement,” the doctor told her. “She’s going to wake up soon. At worst, it’ll take another week.”“Are you sure?”“Yes, you should trust me.”After the doctor left, Marc looked at Lola. “I don’t think we should trust this doctor. Why don’t we take her to another hospital then?”Lola frowned. “Get a copy of the medication they’re using for Rena. I’ll contact other hospitals and ask if there’s anything wrong with the medicine she’s being given or not.”“I don’t think that’s a good idea. Different hospitals give different medication, so they’ll most likely disagree with this hospital’s report.”Lola’s frown deepened. “Then what the hell are we supposed to do?”“Either shift her to another hospital, or wait.”Just then, Rena’s best friend came to the hospital to see how Rena was doing. CHAPTER 138
After Shiney shut the door, she stood by the door and observed Solomon.Solomon shook his head and ate a flower from the bouquet purely out of frustration before leaving the place.“This guy… Sis did tell me that he’s interested in me, but I don’t get it,” Shiney thought. “Why does he like me when all I do is sit at home for the past four years or so? On the other hand, he’s the creator and CEO of a retail chain, and his net worth is probably over ten million dollars. I’m sure lots of women are all over him, so why does he still want to date me? This is making things difficult for me. This is an unnecessary burden for me.”Solomon was a handsome dude, though he was on the swole side unlike Jim. Anybody who looked at Solomon would tell that he would spend a lot of time in the gym every week. His proportions were not to Shiney’s liking. Moreover, Shiney always had her eyes on Jim. In front of Jim, no man even came close to match him. No. Not one.Shiney went back to her room and washed

CHAPTER 139
Jim had been reading the martial arts book for many hours now, which made Ronny wonder what exactly he was reading.“Is that book that interesting?” Ronny asked.“Well, there’s a technique in this book that helps the martial artist to levitate,” Jim said, “so, yeah, it’s exciting to think about.”“Levitation, huh. Like the superheroes in the movies.”“Yeah. Something like that,” Jim shifted his focus back to the book. “A positive vortex creates a negative vortex around itself, and levitation is one of its effects. If I create the vortex with vivre, then I’ll also be able to levitate, huh. But I think it’s going to take a lot of energy to fly. Come to think of it, airplanes also create vortexes with their turbines to create a pressure difference that helps them levitate. Birds also fly in the same fashion, right?”[You didn’t attend school all that much, so how do you know that?] Joe curiously asked.“Well, I might not have not attended school, but my dad still made me read those class

CHAPTER 140
Many years ago. When Shiney was young, she came to Drake’s restaurant with her friends, and she asked her uncle Marcus for a free lunch.Marcus agreed, but Jim didn’t.“Why should we give you and your friends free meals?” Jim asked back. “Do you think we’re getting the ingredients for free?”“Did I ask you?” Shiney retorted. “Why are you interfering when you’re not even the owner?”“What? You really are…” Jim gritted his teeth. He was eleven years old at the time. Shiney was eight years old. He didn’t want to waste his energy arguing with her, so he went back to the kitchen and argued with his dad instead. “Dad, if you give her a free meal, she’ll bring her friends again every week. You shouldn’t do this.”“She’s your cousin, Jim. If she asks for something, you should do it as long as it’s a reasonable request,” Marcus replied.“Huh? How is this a reasonable request?” Jim asked back.Marcus put juicy chicken pieces on five plates. “Take these starters out.”“Why are there five plates?
