The Heir's Redemption/zaman
Chris knew for sure that he had been double-crossed. On one hand, Hogan had told the truth. He was having a growing number of foes and he could not exactly place who was trying to sabotage him this time. Hogan was a competition alright but Chris was almost too sure that he would not involve himself in anything that had to do with gambling with the Robinson shares - especially with strangers. Hogan wanted his shares so badly and he wouldn't sublet it to a woman like Sylvia. But then he too knew Sylvia and from all he could tell, she was not the sort of woman you could put under your shoe that easily. These reasons crossed Hogan off his suspicion list almost as quickly as he crossed his mind. The ceiling fan overhead was sounding rather odd, its jerky movement was not comforting either but Chris could not move from the spot he had been given."The boss will see you now." The goon, a dark and hunky man said and led him to what was a container. The interior of the container had been d

In his car, hands on the wheel, Chris listened as the investigator narrated all he had found out even as he sent him the necessary pictures. "She has been having a weekly meeting with Miss Saint, I guess that she is the brain behind the first deal being a mess." Chris couldn't agree more, it all made sense. Beatrice was the only person who could have access to all his important information, she had no doubt sold it to Sylvia and that was the edge she now had on him. "Beatrice has received eight alerts from a private bank and when I tracked down that bank, I found out that it belongs to one of the Hilton accounts, I'm guessing Sylvia isn't alone on this one, she may be getting help from someone else who wants you out." The man added. Chris sighed, he could not stand any more drama. It was bad enough that Dave had been bought over with God knows how much, now the news of Beatrice having a connection with the Hilton Empire was enough to make him furious, even the thought of anyone el

The Heir's Redemption/zaman
The winding road finally came to a stop in front of a small studio apartment. Chris hit the brakes and looked at the truck he was following. The car slowly rolled to a stop too and the front door flung open. Beatrice stepped out and so did a younger man from the driver's seat. Chris watched as they exchanged hugs and a passionate kiss and then the man drove off as she walked to the apartment, retrieved her key from her bag and entered it. Satisfied with his trail, Chris reversed and drove speedily out of the suburb. He knew where to find Beatrice should he ever need to. She was going to face legal implications of her actions if it got to that. But she was right, he did not have any evidence on her, only a meeting at a public spa that anyone in the city was free to attend. She'd been smart enough to make sure that all her deposits were from a company account and that meant that it was an official transaction for a job. Chris decided that he would not beg her for answers, he had on

Evans stared right at him as he made his request, his gaze unwavering. Chris for a second thought that maybe Evans was joking but then, one look at his hardened gaze told him all he needed to know. "What changed your mind about the family company?" He asked instead and all Evans did was shrug. "I guess I've always had other things on my mind, until now. I know I deserve a seat on the board and you will help me get it." He stated firmly. "Maybe this isn't the best path for you at the moment, your business still needs your full attention," Chris said. Evans chuckled, "And so does yours, several companies across the city, and yet you still find time to be the heir of the family and the CEO on the executive board, surely if you can then I can try too." He said and then smirked, "After all, we're cut from the same cloth, aren't we, son?" Chris nodded, it was only fair that Evans wanted to be a part of the family company once again. It didn't matter why, Chris knew that fulfilling his

The Heir's Redemption/zaman
At the Joli Spa in town, Beatrice sat on the roof of a taxi that she'd kept waiting for over half an hour with the promise of a hefty pay. Finally, her life was coming together, she was going to get the life, job, and car of her dreams, she thought happily. She phoned Sylvia again and the call went to voicemail. A little disturbed, she sent her a text and then decided that a voicemail was better. "Hello, Miss Sylvia, good afternoon. I just wanted to let you know that I have what you asked for and I have been waiting at our rendezvous for almost an hour now. Please call me back when you get this." "You have no idea how much money I am losing by sitting here." The taxi driver commented angrily as she left yet another voicemail. "I told you I would pay you triple for your time, will you quit whining? " She asked and hissed at the man. The driver, still hopeful for the pay yet growing impatient simply huffed and kept mute. In a few minutes, a familiar Chevrolet drove into

Chris thanked Celestine and left the boutique, bolder than he had arrived. In the confines of his Bentley, he called his investigator first. "I need all information you can dig up on__" "She's a hard nut to crack sir, she seems to truly have a clean slate." The man interrupted in frustration. Chris smiled, "You are wrong, she isn't and I have just enough dirt to mess up her facade of perfection, I don't need information on her, dig up what you can on Annabella and Jayden Paul, they are her children and they have been hidden in France for many years." He said. Even the investigator was surprised at such information, he had no idea that Sylvia was married or had ever birthed any child. "I need this within two hours, chop chop," Chris said hastily. "I'm right on it, sir." He replied and hung up. It was time to put Sylvia down for good, he decided as he pulled out his phone and rang Sylvia. "I knew you'd come around, Mr. Chris," she said proudly as she picked up the call. C

Chapter fifty seven
The Heir's Redemption/zaman
Beatrice arrived at the Joli Spa a few minutes past 10 am, her dress drenched in sweat because of the long trek she'd done across the block. She was hoping for her usual tip and she didn't wish to waste it on a cab this time. Thirty minutes and a cup of nasty black coffee later, Beatrice still hadn't heard from or seen Sylvia. She became worried, she was stupid to think that the woman wouldn't try to outsmart her, she had only hoped that she would hold her last task as a bargaining chip to get the position she'd been promised. This was her last task and she wasn't going to give it up for a wad of cash as usual. She'd just come to know of Sylvia's ambition to join the executive board and she wanted compensation for all her efforts to put her there. After the third ring, Beatrice decided to leave a voicemail. She could recall Sylvia's warning about her countless calls and how she was very busy, so Beatrice decided it would be best to pay her a visit to the Hilton Empire. After a fou

The Heir's Redemption/zaman
Just as Chris arrived at the Robinson company, he got a call from Celestine. "Hello, it's good to hear from you." He said to the old man. "Thank you, thank you for reuniting me with my children again, Sylvia is going down for life for all that she's done. The Hilton has fired her and is looking at pressing charges for multiple fraud, embezzlement, and threats to their customers. She'll be going away for a very long time, I can assure you." Celestine said with a laugh. "I only did what had to be done, thank you for opening up about all her deeds, you're the rep's hero." He said and then dropped the call. His sources had already told him about Sylvia's pending court case and the several lawsuits she was receiving. "Finally graced us with your presence, Chris," Hogan said as he strolled to him and offered a handshake. Chris refused it and merely glared at the man. "What is it this time?" He asked impatiently. Hogan sneered at his disrespect and scoffed, "Your arrogance is appa

Pete moved closer to Evans as he stepped out of the conference room. He had a lot on his mind and he wanted to be sure that Evans did not have any motives with his sudden reappearance at the board. "I would have sworn you were off family politics for the rest of your life," Pete said, prodding. Evans smiled and turned to address him after handing the signed contract to his butler. "I would have sworn too, but as Chris said, we should be more careful of how we swear. " He replied with a smile. Pete frowned at his offhanded reply. "I am not fooled by this bravado, Evans, what do you want?" He asked. Evans sneered at him, "You said it yourself father, I have the right to be on the table just like everyone else, I am a member of this family." He replied. "But you have never been interested, what changed? And how did you get Chris to be a part of this game?" Evans shrugged, "I guess everything does have a price and he was right, maybe I am more worthy than anyone who has ever nee

The Heir's Redemption/zaman
Chris stepped under the light and moved closer to the man. He could see the man's features. His hair was trimmed low and his beard was completely shaved. He wore a black shirt and black slacks with a black pair of high-top boots. It was clear that he'd come prepared to blend into the shadows. "You are not in the right place, leave," Chris ordered him. Jefferson smirked and moved under the light too, standing a few inches taller than Chris did. "I am not in the wrong place I've been here twice already and you hadn't returned from your...meeting," he said. "The receptionist told me about your visit, she didn't mention letting you in, now leave," Chris repeated himself."That's no way to treat your brother, you know," Jefferson said and Chris sneered. "You are not my brother! I don't know what brand of crack you took but that's enough, get the hell out before I have the securities through you out." Jefferson frowned at his sudden aggression and moved to the door, Chris followed hi
