“Damn it! He’s a complete psychopath! And I’m going to go absolutely nuts if I have to deal with him here at home!” Jill smirked at Arthur, who was swearing incessantly while hitting the wall of the study. She leaned back and stared at the reflection in the mirror just to the side of the sofa. “He’s good at twisting things around, Arthur. Don’t deal with her with your poor thinking skills. Of course you’ll go crazy over it.” Arthur turned his head angrily. He approached Jill, then knelt down in front of her. “Then what should I do, Mrs Reynolds? At this rate, I’m not sure I’ll be able to take full control of JF Groups.” Jill flashed a big smile. She pointed right at the mirror as she cleared her throat. “You saw that? Try as he might, he can’t change reality, Arthur. He’s not highly educated. She lives in

It was late afternoon by the time Tom collected all the results of his inspections. He brought all the necessary files with him as he thanked Arthur at the scheduled meeting with the general managers of each field. "After going through each of your work, there are a few things I must emphasise. Although this has not yet received approval from the chairman in question. From now on, let's improve our performance. Especially regarding the important projects that will be carried out. Regarding the selected team, I will most likely reshuffle it myself for the sake of the common good. Eventually, I will report the results to the chairman and make a written report for you to understand. Thank you." Tom was about to leave his seat when one of the general managers raised his hand. "Please speak." "What is this inspection for, sir? You don't even inspect every project in progress. Nor are you collecting our eq

Jill had arrived at the front of the jewellery shop where Tom, Arthur and Shannon were choosing jewellery. She glanced at one of the staff and waved. She took as much money as she could and put it in the jewellery clerk's bag. "You know what you have to do, don't you? Make sure there won't be any evidence that can get him off. Or you'll pay the price. You get it?" The clerk quickly moved away from Jill and was about to take over her friend's job of showing Shannon some fancy jewellery. But Tom immediately refused vehemently. "Sorry, miss. I only want to be served by the previous girl." Diana, she flashes a big smile to persuade Tom, who pauses Shannon from picking out jewellery. "The previous attendant has not been adept enough to show the excess jewellery that the bride-to-be will be wearing, sir. So it would be best if I accompany Ms Reynolds here." Arthur tapped Tom lightly on

"I apologise for today's incident, Ms Reynolds. I didn't expect this little fuss to happen while you were preparing for the engagement ceremony the day after tomorrow."   Shannon shook her head softly. Her eyes were still darting around to the few visitors who had been whispering as they passed by. "I'm sure Arthur isn't that petty. He's a good person. And you shouldn't accuse him without proof."   Tom turned his head and smiled in confirmation. "Yes, you're right. A brother shouldn't do crazy things just to get rid of another brother for an inheritance."   Shannon glanced at Tom quickly. She looked at Tom, who was looking for the famous boutique as promised. "What do you mean by that?"   "Gotcha! There's the boutique. Lemme take you there."   Tom's polite behaviour actually made Shannon smile kindly after the thrilling action earlier. He entered the famous boutique with various

Arthur was about to throw another punch when Tom's phone rang with a call. He stretched his right hand in front of his face as he got up slowly. "I'm going to go. Stop this before people think more about your high temper." Tom limped away after looking at Shannon, who looked worried. He simply nodded before actually leaving Arthur and Shannon at the famous boutique to get the best outfit for their happy day. While receiving the call, Tom tried to pay attention to his surroundings. "Did you get the results?" At the end of the call, Pete nodded steadily. "It's an illegal drug that's still being developed, Tom." Hearing Pete's short and clear explanation, Tom was completely out of patience. He hit the wall with quite a bit of force. "Damn it! He's completely insane! How could—" "Please watch what you say, Tom. I heard that Arthur is making a scene. Be careful. He can do anythi

“So, I’ll most likely be dismissed?” asked Arthur in a trembling voice. His hands were clenched into fists, while his teeth were chattering with anger. James turned round and looked at Arthur after letting out a long sigh. “Aren’t you trying to think things through? Is it appropriate for a director to do such a horrible thing in a public place, Arthur?” Arthur’s left hand tried to control his clenched right hand. He looked down languidly, as if he was regretting his actions. “It wasn’t my fault, dad. Tom did everything to set me up. He put me in the worst potential situation. Don’t you ever think about it? Ever since he came, all the good things I had planned have been completely ruined! He’s bad luck, dad!” “Enough, Arthur!” Arthur got up quickly. His hands were clenched tightly into fists, trying not to be rude in f

Quickly, Arthur opened the news portal page. But for some reason, he had trouble opening it. Instead of restarting the network, he chose to go to the living room of Jeff Coley’s residence. He opened the current affairs channel without hesitation. Sure enough, he saw Tom’s face in the news. His eyes widened as he saw that Tom’s stock was now equal to that of Jeff Coley, whom he had trusted to make him a director among the many candidates. Arthur’s temper exploded. He slammed the remote control before leaving Jeff’s house. Without hesitation, he drove his car towards home. “There was only one person who could explain everything. James!” Again, Arthur’s luxury car broke the rules to get home. There was only anger in his piercing eyes. His hands kept clenching into fists until his nails cut deep into his palms. Arriving at the house, Arthur immediately ente

"Stop this, kiddos. Let's have lunch before you embark on a more colourful life. Arthur with his engagement, and Tom with his efforts to return JF Groups to the Fischer bloodline." James's warning made both Tom and Arthur pause. Both of them ate a hearty lunch immediately. A sight that no one had ever imagined before.  Noticing something strange about Arthur's suddenly warm demeanour, Tom began to act wary. He suddenly remembered something to question. "Tell me, dad. How did it start when your condition worsened back then? Did you eat or drink anything?" Instead of hearing an answer from James, Tom heard a loud cough from Arthur. He smiled softly before handing Arthur a glass of water across the table. "Are you choking? There's no need to rush, Arthur. Just pick. No one will tell you to hurry at the dinner table." Arthur downed the mineral water Tom hand

Lunch was over as the trio tried to break the day into the living room. Arthur got up in the middle of a heated conversation between Tom and James. "Where are you going, Arthur?" James asked anxiously. Ever since he'd thrown in a joke to break the situation, Arthur hadn't reacted the way he'd hoped. Arthur turned his head with a friendly smile. His face looked so sincere. "Gathering with you guys without a drink would be lacking, dad. Should I make you a drink?" Although Arthur's question was sincere, it wasn't for Tom. He felt something was wrong. Especially with Arthur's demeanour changing so much. "I'd like an iced coffee, Arthur. I see you often make it for yourself. Can I have one?" Arthur turned to Tom. His head nodded slowly with both hands alternately ringing the joints of the fingers. "Why not? I'll make one for you. A special drink for you. What about you, dad?" "Just g

Arthur had just woken up after being unconscious for two hours. Instead of looking for someone who might worry about him, he laughed when remembered all too well how death had taken Tom back to the hell. Slowly, Arthur got up and moved. In the luxurious room, he tried to find his phone. Or at least a newspaper. Unfortunately, he found nothing there. “Shit! Where’s my phone? Why isn’t Pete here? What’s going on? I forgot Pete would probably be busy with Tom’s death, which I never thought could happen this quickly.” Arthur returned to the bed. This time, he searched for the remote to switch on the television to keep up to date with things. Especially about the state of his home, which might be in mourning. But what was Arthur’s surprise when suddenly the door to his treatment room was opened with quite a bang? Arthur almost cursed if he didn’t see who was coming to visit him,
