Chapter 81
Anna's brows furrowed, following what Cory had just said. Just a second ago, she was having a lot of raunchy ideas in her head. Although she already discovered that she was just being hopeful, did he really have to be so cruel with words? She gritted her teeth as she glared at him. She saw a subtle smile idling in the corner of his face. At that moment, she could tell that he was definitely enjoying himself. She didn't want to give him that satisfaction. If she sees the rage in her face, then he will continue to act that way to feed his ego. "Why would you not to say that? Who doesn't know that you are impotent?" Anna snapped. Cory's eyes changed when she said this. He obviously was not expecting such a comeback from her. He couldn't even guess what she was going to say in the first place. "Don't look so surprised." Anna continued, enjoying the flip of the script. She was the one with the upper hand now, and she was willing to salvage it. "I mean, even the top billionaires in th

Anna, who was about to exit through the door, couldn't move an inch anymore. It would seem as though her father had thrown the words directly at her instead of at Cory. Although the consequence of Lord Theo's words would have more effect on her, yet her reaction looked rather explosive compared to Cory's. Cory's gaze was glued to the man's face as he demanded more words. Since when has Lord Theo been thinking about this? Has he been thinking about it for a while? Or did it just occur to him out of the blue?Cory didn't know which of those thoughts to bank on. "I understand that this might come off as strange to you, but please consider it before you give a response." Lord Theo continued. Anna had been standing at the door for a while, waiting for what her father would say next. Perhaps she had thought that her ears were playing tricks on her, so she didn't want to take those words seriously in the first place. But following what her father had just added, she realised that there wa

Chapter 83
"Elaine?" Cory answered the phone. "You should come to your house right away. You should come right now!!!" Elaine said over the phone. Before Cory could ask another question, the call had been hung. Before the call was hung, Cory could hear some sort of commotion going underneath when the call was on. "Elaine. Elaine." He called as though she was still at the other end of the phone. "What is the matter? Did something bad happen?" Lord Theo asked, looking quite worried, too. "I have to go now. This is very important." Cory turned to leave at once. Cory walked briskly to the door. Cory could hear Lord Theo's hurrying footsteps following him closely. He decided to walk in the direction he had come from. He headed towards the elevator that would take him to the floor. Anna had walked out of another room and had seen Cory walking away in a hurry. At once, she could tell that something was not right. Although she was still mad at him, she could tell that this was not the time for

Cory was clueless. He had no idea what to do at this moment. He couldn't choose his action. But then he knew that he would have to make a quick decision. This flood of people was flowing towards him in crazy currents. He wasn't sure if he would be able to withstand the impact. He had a choice, of course. He could decide to put up a fight and beat them all up. That would be quite a cakewalk for him. These people that he was looking at were just random men and women. They didn't look like trained martial artists. But then again, when he thought about it, he realised that it would be lame to act based on impulse. Why would he want to beat these people up? What have they done to deserve it?Although he could see that they were charging at him, yet he didn't think that was a good reason to beat them up. A random thought zoomed across his mind, too. When he had accosted the old man who had beaten up, he had thought that it was a random old man. Could this be the same situation? Cory tho

Cory remained in that position for a while. He was choking. If these people continued in this fashion, then he wouldn't be able to guarantee what would happen to him next. He could decide to use one percent of his powers and throw all of them into the thin air. But wouldn't that make him more of a vallian than the hero they had painted him as?All of a sudden, sirens were heard blaring in the direction of the scene. When the sirens got to the people, they slowly started to pull away from Cory, turning in the direction of the noise. About five vehicles of cops drove into the estate and stopped right at the spot. Cory could now heave a sigh of relief as he saw this. Although he had no idea who called the cops, he would be willing to appreciate the thoughtful decision of such a person. "Attention everybody." One of the cops started to speak into a static radio. "Words got to us that unknown group of adults invaded the peaceful Eagleville estate, creating chaos and disturbing the pea

Chapter 86
Cory's gaze shifted from the Sheriff to the voice that had just interrupted. There was a middle-aged man standing behind the sheriff. The man took two more steps and was now standing next to the sheriff. As the man exchanged greetings with the Sheriff, Cory looked closely. The man looked quite familiar. Cory was sure about this, but he couldn't really place where he knew the man from. He tried to rack his brain for a while whether or not he would get a catch, but no matter how hard he tried, he just couldn't reach the answer he was craving for. "You must remember me." The man offered his hand to Cory. "Please excuse me." The Sheriff turned around and returned to the vehicles. At once, the vehicles left the premises. Cory could now concentrate on the man. He was staring at the hand of the man that had been stretched, seeking for a shake. He didn't take the hand. He tried to make another attempt whether or not he would recall from where he knew the man. "I don't mean to be rude,

Chapter 87
Cory was shaken to the very depth of his bones. He was heavy from deep inside. He could feel fear creeping from deep inside of him, crawling out to make a patch on his skin. The sight his eyes had held was so terrifying that he didn't want to look at it again, but he wouldn't be able to ignore it. It was very disturbing and uncomfortable. There were two deep holes in his nape. The holes were fresh and very pink. There were clots of blood lacing the corners of the holes. It would seem as though a machine had drilled two hollows into his neck. The pain intensified by the second. Cory didn't know what to do. His mind was blank. His head was heavy, pounding! Yet he couldn't choose the right decision. He tried to clasp his palm to the wound, but he couldn't keep the palm there for long. His neck had become sticky, and his palm was almost glued to his nape. The fear deepened as he realised that the situation was literally getting worse. He would have to do something. He needed to come

"Cory." Elaine called his name, but he wasn't seeing her. His gaze was fixed on the man who was standing next to her. The man who was wearing a silly smile. The smile really disturbed him as he stared at the man. He felt something deep inside of him stirring up. He couldn't tell what it was yet, but he was certain that it was affiliated to rage. "I wanted to come tell you that Mara is awake. I didn't want her to go through the stress of coming all the way here. If you want to see her, you can come with me now." Elaine said to him. Cory stepped out of the living room. He still didn't give Elaine a glance. He grabbed the man by the chest, fisting his cloth. He began to push the man away as he led the way. "Cory!!!" There was urgency in Elaine's voice this time. She had no idea what the matter was. She didn't think she knew the man whom Cory had just grabbed. She didn't want to assume the situation. She turned to see Cory pushing the man away. She almost tripped and fell because o

Cory found the question very strange, but his fist was still in the air, hovering over the face of the man. A part of him wanted him to believe that the man was pulling a prank on him. But then again, when he thought about it, why would the man want to pull a prank? From the look of what happened a few minutes ago, while he was choking the man, the man was laughing and unbothered. This means that the man didn't see Cory as a threat. If the man does not seem him as a threat, then why would he be trying to pull a prank? A prank to stop Cory from punching him? When can he just beat Cory up?!These series of questions almost burst the head of Cory open. He developed a severe headache in the midst of this. "Arggh!!! Don't try to fool me!!!" He growled, deciding to bring the fist into the face of the man. His fist went through the air. He couldn't punch the man. He didn't! He wanted to. He made an attempt to! He followed through with the action, but he didn't punch the man. His fist did

Cory stopped when he saw Elaine looking around for him. He noticed that she was on a call. He didn't move for the next few seconds. Although he was staring at her, yet there were a couple of things going on in his head. Regarding the villain, Cory believed that he was close to understanding what was happening, yet it also felt like he was still very much clueless. He was lost in the train of thoughts. Point in time, Elaine turned around to see him standing in the way. She started to hurry towards him. There was a great mud of concern splattered across her face. "What happened just now?" She asked as soon as she got to him. "I was just staring at you a few moments ago, and then you were gone. Like you vanished. What's happening, Cory? Where did you come from again? I just turned away from this direction. You were not here." Elaine argued relentlessly. Cory understood that her argument was very valid. He shouldn't be making her worry this much. But then, when he thought of it again,
