Chapter 71 - Redemption
Bailey walked into the ward with tears streaming down her face slowly as she tried to curtail it, it continued raining down her cheeks. She was happy to be a witness when he woke up.Miss Rose rubbed her shoulders softly trying to stop her tears that refused to stop flowing. "You should stop crying. I told you that he would fight it. He's a strong boy and he won't allow you to weep over him." She replied.Bailey nodded and rushed to his bed to hug him deeply. Archie was elated to see her but also pretended not to remember her. He only wanted to make her scared of him."I don't know you, who are you?" He asked her and she was startled by the question. She didn't know why he was acting that way. "Are you sure that there's nothing wrong with you, Archie? It's me, your darling girlfriend." She said with confusion on her face.Archie shook his head and moved away from her. "I'm sorry, I don't know you. Miss Rose," he called instead.Bailey felt like she was having a heart attack at that p

Archie returned to school despite his mother's protest. He wanted to make sure that he got his papers and graduated when he was supposed to so as not to give Ryder any leverage. He was warming up to Bailey who was beginning to get frustrated so he kept staring at her and waiting to see how long she would stay without breaking. He promised to tell her the next week and was prepared for her to break down and tell him that he was cruel then he would take time to explain what he wanted to achieve. He knew that she was going to pass the test but as a business person, he still needed to test her. "Do you still remember how to solve this assignment?" Bailey asked him quietly when she saw that he was staring at the board in confusion. "No, I don't." He replied sincerely. He had lost touch with his calculative side and he made a mental note to visit the doctor later today. He needed to be well. He didn't want this memory loss to become true. He stared at her tiredly and she began to teach h

Chapter 73 - Resolution
"Take a seat, Archie." The principal motioned to a chair in front of him and Archie obeyed instantly."You heard what Mr. Lockwood said so what do you think about it?" The principal replied. Archie shook his head. "With all due respect, sir. I don't want to leave this school. I don't care about the bullies. In life one would face challenges. Would I leave every school just because there are bullies?" He answered, pretending not to know Marshall deeply. The principal was taken aback by the audacity of this young man so much that he didn't bother to correct him."You should not speak to him in that manner to state your point." He chided Archie after a few minutes.Marshall shook his head, he was rather impressed by the ability of the boy to air his feelings without necessarily sounding rude. "I don't also concur with him leaving the school due to bullies but I still have to reconsider certain things. We can't allow them to just move around without being punished. It would give room to

Chapter 74 - Back to Square One.
The students were seated in the classroom, waiting almost impatiently for the teacher to come in. Geometry was a required subject for them and they were anxious about the test that they had written in the previous class. "Good morning class," Mr. Lexington said as he walked into the class. The anxiety levels in the classroom seemed to rise exponentially and they all murmured their greetings in response. "Fucking finally," someone muttered at the back of the class but thankfully for them, Lexington did not hear. "Well it seems you are dull today," the man said sarcastically in his exaggerated British accent. "I have your tests," he said and a wave of murmurs fell over the room. Lexington was a teacher that students could typically walk over, just like in those high school movies because he was nice. But he had a strict side to him and he did not joke with grades. The students knew this so as much as possible, they kept their mischief from him. Geometry was important. He started di

Chapter 75 - Regrets
"You might want to get out of the way," Archie said as he stood up to walk away but they closed in on him, completely stopping him from moving.. Their leader, Connor, looked at him with a small smile. "You know, I'd rather have a conversation with a dead person than talk to you guys. Get out of my way," he said with a tone that was gradually growing angry. "I can't help but wonder..." Connor said, taking a step towards him. "Why do you think you're better than the rest of us? I'm genuinely curious," he said, standing in front of Archie. They were exactly the same height so it was like he was attempting to put his face in the same space with Archie's. Archie had to take a step back. Now he was furious. He clenched his hands into a fist and watched them as he pressed his lips together. "If you think you're better than any one of us here, or in your class, you are sorely mistaken. We all know that the only reason you're here is because Mr Marshall took a weird liking to you. You're a

Chapter 76 - Lessons Learnt
Miss Rose walked into the principal's office without knocking. She silently stood in the space across from the principal's seat and crossed her arms, glaring at him. "What do you want?" He asked, letting out a sigh. "You can't just suspend the students," she said, shaking her head and letting herself into one of the two seats across from him. "What do you mean? They are guilty. They were bullying a fellow student. That warrants suspension," the principal said, glancing at her once and then going back to what he had been writing before she came in. "You're supposed to follow the nude process whether they're guilty or not. Their parents are supposed to be brought in so they know what their children are involved in," she said and paused. "Archie's father needs to know too. He needs to know what is happening to his son," she said, pressing her lips together. "Archie's father must not hear of this," the principal said, aggressively dropping his pen on the table and glaring at her. "Why n

Chapter 77 - Seeds planted
“I need to have a word with you, “ Mr Ralph said to Archie when he finally took his eyes away from Bailey who had been looking at him suspiciously. “Alright then, what do you have to say? “ Archie said with a serious expression and in a calm tone, but Mr Ralph could tell very easily that he was intentionally trying to pull his legs. “Privately, “ Mr Ralph answered in the same serious manner, he was not in any mood for any games at this time and just wanted to get it over with, but then even if his plan worked and Archie gave him back everything he had lost he would still have to continue to keep up with the guy for only God knows how long, nonetheless at that very moment this Rocky plan was the only plan he could think of and he was very close to being desperate. Archie turned to face Baily and held her hand with both his hands for a moment then nodded to her with a smile as if to assure her that everything was fine before he began to walk away with Mr Ralph. Bailey was very distu

Chapter 78 - More suspicions
"But wait, " Bailey said again after they had left the building and had been walking for a while, "who exactly is he? What's your business with him? " she had tried to just ignore it and take it out of her mind but that proved to be extremely difficult, perhaps because of how the man had spoken to her as if she did not know the man she was walking with, as if she did not know Archie. And perhaps that is what she was really afraid of, she dreaded she thought of such a thing that one day she would find out that everything she knew or thought she knew about Archie, that everything about him which she thought to be true was nothing but a huge lie, if that day ever came she was not sure she would be able to live with herself. "I told you not to worry about it, " Archie said again, but would not let it rest, and his hesitation to tell her did not make her feel any less worried or concerned, on the contrary it made her want to know what happened even more so she continued pestering him. Chapter 79 - Saddening News
Ryder woke up in a good mood. He took a hot shower and got ready for school, styling his hair in his signature way. The way that made the girls swoon. It seemed like he was going to have a good day as he absolutely liked that. That was... until he was on his way down the stairs. He heard his father speaking to someone in his office which was to the right at the foot of the stairs. He wanted to keep walking towards the kitchen because he was starving and he wanted to perfect his morning with his favorite cereal. But as soon as he heard Archie's name, he paused and took quiet steps towards the office door that was slightly open. He leant against the wall and listened to his father's work. "I don't want him to keep working at those restaurants. He is not supposed to be doing that. He is my son," his father, Marshall, said. "But he wants to be independent. Have you considered that?" Someone who Ryder recognized to be Simon spoke and his father let out a huff of breath. "He can be worki

Chapter 80 - Wicked plans.
Ryder, River and Meg sat together in the living room staring at their father with unreadable expressions on their faces. "What did you just say?" Ryder asked in a quiet voice. This was his worst nightmare coming through. It was his father saying the very worst thing he had imagined. In fact, he had not even imagined this. In all of his bad thoughts, he had not imagined that his father would do this. "You heard me the first time, Ryder," his father, Marshall said, eyeing him carefully. "Well we need you to say it again so we know we did not hear wrong," River said. Meg hit him in the side so he would not speak to their father in that tone. He was already making a bunch of rash decisions and she did not want him to make worse ones just because he did not like the tone with which River spoke to him. "Archie will be taking over as the CEO and head of the Consortium," he repeated the words that had been a bombshell to the three of them earlier. Even though they had heard it before, it st
