11. New Spirit
The Prince of Prophecy and the Bladeless Sword/Sarah Nurlatifah
He took a deep breath. “Alright. Let’s do it together,” he said, which immediately made the others smile. “That’s right,” Gio said happily. Leon just smiled a little, starting to realize that they had come as a team, not as individuals. He didn’t know why they were there, but Leon’s instincts told him that it had something to do with him. “Alright. Then, let’s discuss it so we can start moving tomorrow,” Sean suggested. The bookworm seemed to be a good talker and seemed to really enjoy talking. Leon didn’t mind since Sean was the opposite, with the man near him Leon felt better. They came closer to discuss, dividing the tasks between each of them. “First, tomorrow at noon we have to gather as much information as possible. After that we find out what caused the people of Summer Village to not be able to

The Prince of Prophecy and the Bladeless Sword/Sarah Nurlatifah
While the others fell back asleep, Leon couldn't close his eyes at all even though his body felt so tired. The boy couldn't close his eyes, the dream that had just happened was still clearly in his mind about the screams and thunderous laughter. Leon didn't understand, and the system didn't provide any information about it when he searched for it earlier. He lay on his bed for quite a while, staring at the ceiling of the room which was dimly lit by the light of a small candle in the corner of the room. Leon was silent, his thoughts were in chaos. Leon was still wondering why they were there now."Who am I?" Leon grumbled in his heart without being able to get an answer. The system couldn't answer when asked the same thing. The place was quiet and felt so cold and tense. The darkness that enveloped him seemed to devour all life there. Leon was still silent, thinking about what the darkness was like."The Summer Village seems lifeless," Leon thought. The boy then woke up from his sleep
13. Starting a Plan
The Prince of Prophecy and the Bladeless Sword/Sarah Nurlatifah
When morning finally greeted them. Leon who was ready to go down and maybe even ready to look for anything at that time just sat at the table, waiting for the others. The window of the room was already opened, showing the bright view outside. The blue sky without clouds was seen stretching out of the wooden framed window."Do you think this village holds something?" Sean as usual always asked a lot of questions and always had lots of ideas. The guy was neat and fragrant. Sitting opposite Leon who was only separated by a long table."We'll find out first. So, let's make a plan," said Leon.Sean nodded. "Okay."Not long after Gio and Viona joined, only Zenata took quite a long time. The girl was very noisy in the bathroom, complaining, cursing, and even getting angry for no reason. Of course, a rich girl like Zenata must live in luxury where her bathroom must have a toilet or other place than the shabby bathroom that was there now."That girl is so annoying," complained Gio.Leon did no

After the food on the table was finished, they prepared to leave. The morning approaching noon was hot like summer but strangely felt cold and quiet. People might be doing their usual activities, walking around the place, shopping, and so on, but they were just like that without interacting.“Alright. Good luck. Take care of yourselves. We’ll meet again here at dusk. Try not to stay too long,” Leon said before they parted ways. The others nodded in agreement with Leon and started walking in the direction they had previously determined. Only Zenata was left frowning. The girl seemed to dislike the dusty environment. Leon ignored that and started walking in the direction he had also chosen.“Ugh, wait, Leon!” Zenata exclaimed annoyed because Leon just left without inviting her.Leon didn’t care and walked leisurely while looking around.People were just wandering at the food stalls, goods, and, others without any laughter. They entered the summer village market area, but the place was d
15. One Valuable Information
The Prince of Prophecy and the Bladeless Sword/Sarah Nurlatifah
Leon was still trying to fight desperately against two big and sturdy men with muscles protruding from their traditional village clothes. Not only one or two punches landed on Leon's face which then left scars on his handsome face which should have been clean. However, Leon did not give up even though he looked tired. However, not only Leon, after a while the three of them fought, but the two men also looked tired. Leon's memory returned to the incident when the mother and son forced Leon to intervene, it seemed that the mother was being harassed by the men, and there was even a possibility that the young girl would be a victim of something.People who initially didn't care now gathered from a safe distance to watch the fight between Leon, the stranger, and the two men the villagers had known that summer. It seemed that Lepn's resistance had succeeded in attracting the attention of people who never cared."Damn it. Who are you?" said the leader, panting. His face and body were already

Leon's head felt very dizzy and his body ached a little, but the boy tried to stay awake after who knows how long he had been asleep."Are you awake?" The voice greeted, sounding very flat rather than anxious.Leon glanced towards the source of the voice, Zenata was sitting still not far from him. Leon got up from his sleep with the help of the girl. Not asking where they were now, but Leon realized that it was not at the inn. A woman appeared not long after and Leon remembered her."Thank you," Leon said softly as the woman gave him a glass of water. The woman smiled. "I am the one who should be thanking you," the woman said. "Thank you for saving me and my child from them.""It's okay. It's my job," Leon replied. Zenata squeaked. The girl seemed to enjoy the food served as Leon stared at her."You were so arrogant but in the end you fell," Zenata quipped while eating the blackberries in her hand.Leon was annoyed by this and glared at Zenata. "You knew I was going to fall, why did y
17. What they Get
The Prince of Prophecy and the Bladeless Sword/Sarah Nurlatifah
“Why? Do you doubt me?” Zenata asked in an offended tone.“Yes. We don’t believe you can heal someone. A rude girl like you, how could you possibly heal a wound?” Gio interrupted Zenata and did not hesitate to voice his thoughts.Zenata snorted harshly. “It’s up to you whether you believe it or not. The point is, it’s my advantage. And if you are injured, I will treat them according to my duties. Understand?” Zenata confirmed.“Okay. Then, let’s get started before it’s too late,” said Sean who didn’t want to hear a long debate about something trivial.Leon nodded. “So, who will go first?” asked the man.“Me,” Viona raised her hand. All eyes were on the girl. They didn’t go downstairs to eat because Leon and Zenata had brought a lot of food to the table.“I thought the place was quiet, it’s just that the residents weren’t friendly at all. They tended not to care about anything, just interacting as they were. Then, when I thought there was nothing there, something appeared. It turned ou

“If you want, go ahead. But don’t involve me,” Zenata said. Of course, the girl would refuse. “I don’t want to. Never!” the girl said firmly.“No problem,” Sean replied casually. “Me and Leon will do it. Besides, we didn’t suggest anything to you, like Leon did this morning to divide the tasks,” Sean continued.Zenata stared at Sean sharply, disliking the man.“Right. You don’t have to do it. What you did this afternoon was more than enough. If you don’t want to, that’s okay. Sean and I will investigate,” Leon said.“But Le, what if it can’t be handled? As we know, darkness is hard to handle. We’re just strangers who don’t even have the power to fight a king who is said to be dark and cruel,” Viona chimed in. The girl’s face was restless.“Yes, I know.”“If you knew, you would still do it, right?” Gio already knew that Sean and Leon were two teenagers with high curiosity. They would continue to find out until their curiosity was satisfied.“I think you know that too,” Sean said, still

Leon came out of the room, looking to the right and left of the second floor of the quiet inn. Candles lit in several corners of the place helped illuminate the surroundings. Leon walked slowly, not wanting to make a loud noise that might invite discomfort. The second floor was safe, there was only silence. An uncomfortable feeling gripped Leon, even feeling so cold and piercing his skin. Ignoring it, Leon went down to the ground floor, in the lobby which was also quiet. No woman was guarding the registration desk, or anyone guarding there.Leon didn't know why his feet were walking towards the tightly closed main door. In the window not far from the door, there was a gap. The man was silent there, just silent with a straight gaze into the gap peeking at the atmosphere outside.Just like what Leon saw in the room, outside there was only darkness. Usually, there was candlelight outside or something to illuminate but there was none at all. Leon thought, is it because the darkness will d

"That, does it have to be quiet every night?" Leon asked, remembering the night when Zenata screamed.Azlan looked back at him. "Only loud noises and commotion will make the faceless come," answered Azlan. “Only those who enter noisy houses will be considered breaking the rules.”"Then, just talking like this won't be a problem?" Leon asked again."As long as you can keep your voice low," answered Azlan again.Leon nodded in understanding now.“Then who are you?” Leon remembered the events of the night when Azlan chased away the faceless black creature. His laughter sounded soft again. “I don't know how many times you've asked who I am. However, you will find out later.”“You know, in my observation, you know a lot of things. About what happened, about what might happen. About what might happen in the future. "My feeling says, you know more than just know," said Leon. This time Azlan was silent, looking at Leon deeply and sharply. "You're like that, Leon," said Azlan."What do you mea
