Scarlett clenched her fists. What game was William playing? How could someone like him have $100,000? She wasn't planning to spend more than $70,000 on the painting but now William had raised the bid to $100,000. Scarlett bit her lip. She had to get this painting to gain Asher Knight’s favour. “105,000 dollars.” William smiled. He knew Scarlett was stubborn and this was exactly what he wanted. He wanted her to go in a bidding war with him. “$120,000.” William called out. Scarlett frowned. “$130,000!” William put in another bid. “$250,000” Everyone gasped in astonishment. Who exactly was this man going toe to toe with Scarlett Grey? Scarlett couldn't believe what she was hearing. William had nearly doubled her bid. However, this was her golden chance to meet Asher Knight. She couldn't let it go. She called out another bid. “$300,000” The auctioneer couldn't believe his ears. A sale of $50,000 would have been a good sale but $300,000? That was outrageous! William smirked.
